Playing offline with sliders I always lower the pass accuracy sliders for me and the CPU. It helps make the game more realistic a lot. You get a lot of errand passes and dead ball turnovers that don't happen often otherwise.

I’m just starting with next gen, but I always felt bail out was a massive op badge. The jump pass is legit, but I feel like in the same way as a jump shot, if you don’t start your pass around where you’d be “at the top of your jump,” your ability to get it to anyone who isn’t very close should rapidly decline.
Def don’t wanna see jump passing removed because it is another layer of skill, but actual bail outs should fail a lot more. I don’t watch 2k league but I’m surprised someone in there hasn’t brought out the true nature of bail out badge. It’s nuts.
To me everything that lets you do something you can’t is very strong. One can argue without bail out badge, it should be awful. I was talking about player to player passing interactions in the other thread and this is an egregious example, a bullet out of a 3 by some non passer, I dunno. You should def be able to dump off but for a lot of people it should be like an out of bounds save sort of pass. If you think of it in that, imagine someone saving the ball from the corner and rocketing it to a cutter for a lay up. It could happen, but other than select guys or luck, it probably wouldn’t, and in that situation you assume both players are ready.
It’s possible even under the rim someone could fumble it cuz they are trying to get ready to rebound when the passer dumps it off. They def need to be softer, unless it’s a deliberate jump pass.

But I know for single player, the game typically makes you pay -- unreasonably, in my opinion -- for passing out of shots by making it into a turnover. At least for offline play, you can tune that (i.e., steal frequency) however you prefer. Which I don't think is an option in online multiplayer.Last edited by iLLWiLL; 01-08-2023, 05:59 PM.Comment

Yes, I am fully aware of this. However when the Hornets were re-established in the league part of the deal meant they got the history of the franchise and all the records etc prior to moving to N.O. So there should be a way to keep them in charlotte in MY NBA if we so choose.Comment

Re: 2k "The Little Things" THAT ANNOY YOU:
-- When you catch the ball with your back to the basket in the backcourt, turn your player around with the left joystick to where he's facing the basket, then try to quickly explode upcourt using a right joystick crossover or behind the back move, there's a noticeable 1 to 2 second delay before the right stick animation begins to play, where you're stuck in this "casually slow-walking the ball upcourt" animation. The length of this delayed, no-user-input-being-recognized period depends on your player's dribble style, but I haven't found any this year that'll make the dribbling feel like you're in full control of your player from the second the ball hits your hands; there's always this annoying button delay before the game stops playing the automated walkup animation and finally gives you control over your dribbling.
-- The play art's dotted white passing lines are really hard to see on most every court. It needs to be changed to a color besides white, yellow, orange, or brown, since those all blend in with the wood floors.
-- The default, unchangeable lime-green A button icon and bright-yellow Y button icon are too similar in color and too tough to tell apart at a glance. Let us customize each passing icon color to our liking using the coloring options from the existing uniform/logo editor.
-- We're up to a dozen or so different dunk meter options, and I still haven't found one that feels intuitive and looks appealing. I'd like to see a brightly colored dunk meter (so it stands out in your peripheral vision and can just be side-eyed) that's rectangular, and starts off large--filling up the entire backboard area--then begins shrinking, with the optimal release point occurring once it's become perfectly aligned with the smaller, bank-shot-guide rectangle:Attached FilesLast edited by jyoung; 01-09-2023, 01:37 PM.Comment

Rip Hamilton keeps running to the 3pt line instead of curling for the middy! They got the tendencies right, but the spacing needs work. Really kills the CPU in older eras. They can’t take advantage of double teams because the open man spots up at the 3 point line and he’ll just hold the ball instead of shooting.Comment

Gotcha. Yeah I don't know how exploitative it is with online/multiplayer, as I only play offline vs. CPU. So the experiences maybe different.

From my experience, passing out of a shot is way too overpowered. Lots of people in our online league do that when they find themselves heavily contested on a bad shot decision. Then their player is able to do 180° bail out passes that connect without even a fumble in 90 % of tries.Comment

Re: 2k "The Little Things" THAT ANNOY YOU:
The insane fast break defense recovery by the CPU. It seems like my only hope for true open court flow is creating an on-ball turnover at the top of the key. And even then, there's an 80 percent chance a defender will be able to induce a continuous hip-ride animation that'll neutralize any advantage.
Also, I despise how simple triple-threat moves like the jab step have been neutured (unless they're in concert with an in-depth right stick dribble combo).
Basically the lack of effective first steps can be frustrating.Comment

This has been a recurring issue since 2K16: when you "green" a three from limitless range, it usually banks in off the backboard instead of going through the net more normally.
Those uncommanded bank shot threes should only occur on made "white" releases that are slightly mistimed but happen to go in by luck.Comment

IRL teams must make a decision on rookie options by the day before the season starts not in the following offseason. Think about the deadline that led to the the James Harden trade from OKC.
Also, we haven’t been able to sign rookies to rookie scale extensions in the offseasons because the contract extension menu doesn’t show up in the offseason.Comment
