I wonder if they could get the Huaraches scanned in as they would fit the Jordan era. Maybe you could drop a hint to your guy ...

I thought it was worth a try as they are retroing them.

Another reason I prefer on court screenshots and a color picker vs YouTube is I feel the real life arena lighting helps colors look more worn and natural. Some of the YouTube creations I saw look like something out of a promo photo shoot or eastbay catalog, not the feel I’m looking for.

Another tip for those looking to get into creating colorways. If you go to Getty image site or app go to the Editorial tab and search “NBA shoes” and you’ll see the latest on court kicks. Then what I do is take a screenshot and save it to a folder called 2k kicks. This way next time I boot up the game I have some photos to use with an app to get the RGB codes. I use this along with following certain IG accounts when wanting to create some colorways. Try to find a photo with good lighting and make sure to find a spot on the photo with a true representation of the color because the RGB values will be completely off if you pick a darker or lighter section of the image. Then your shoe will look completely off. This is key.

I hate to make you the unofficial "go ask them" guy, but I figured I'd give it a shot lol. Any idea why the KD 1-8 are never in the game? Per KixStats, the 3, 4, 6, and 7 have all been seen so far in the early season.

It’s easier and faster to just make them from scratch. I follow ig accounts like hoops_sneakers_ for updated sneakers worn on the court. He and others post what everyone is wearing for every game.

For better angles I search Getty with player names with the keyword shoes. I screenshot what I find and use imagecolorpicker.com to find the rbg values on different spots on the shoes, and I start editing. I can knock out more than a dozen in an hour or more if I really want to. It usually takes less than 10 minutes for 2 colorways. I just make the commonly worn retro’s or flagships when the game drops, and make 1-3 every time I start actually playing.

When it comes time for me to actually start a myleague/era’s franchise I’m pretty much set, and only have to make stuff when new sneakers get put in the game.

My method and others like it have been posted all throughout last year’s thread and the beginning of this one. Watching and rewinding YouTube videos sounds like a chore.

It’s really easy once you get the hang of it. I just have my phone on a stand, play the video. I’ve gotten so good I can usually keep up with JL 2K shoes because he puts a nice long delay in between each step. But really I just pause the video if I fall behind. I can do a shoe in about 3-4 minutes now.

Yes I agree I was able to follow his video and was able to create three pair. I saw some others I want do as well. Stuff like this also makes the game come alive as well.

Idk if this idea was ever thrown out but I think 2K should give us the option to assign a shoe to every uniform instead of just “Home” and “Away” in future 2Ks

I agree. The nba no longer uses the terms “home and away” for uniforms anyway

I said years ago they should allow you to randomize it. Like Jayson tatum could be signed his signature shoe and all the ones you created where you could select random all for players like P.J. tucker that wear nike, jordan, reebok etc.. and obviously you can select one single sneaker or brand for those who stick to a brand or certain shoe

I’ve had the same gripe for years with the Aj 16’s and 17’s. I think I saw either Ray Allen or Darius miles wear the 16’s shroud once. We probably won’t ever see it with the trilliants.
