You can use it...but in my era, mynba, playing without these badges makes the players play the game smoothly and natural.

I still am going with No Badges. I feel most of the issues I hear about come from the Badges overriding Ratings and Tendencies.

Some Roster Makers disagree, which is what gives USERS more options.

I remove Badges in All Game Modes.

I just don't understand why there's SO MANY badges?

Instead of enhancing Superstar players as originally intended, badges now make it to where unless you have that badge you can't complete said action.

So without the Bunny badge you'll NEVER make hope step layups, or at least not be able to do then consistently.

Acrobat used to do all the spin layups and reverses. Now we have two-step, scooper, float game, and whatever else. I just don't understand why the overkill.

It's very convoluted I agree. As an offline user it just makes roster editing needlessly complicated.


It's probably to give the MyPlayer base more content to grind/pay for.

Once all the Badges are removed you still see those moves. It all falls back to the Player Tendencies.

From Your Roster Screen hit the Start Button it will bring up the Quick Edit Option and You can go Team by Team and do it.

I have a Roster loaded on 2k.Share that already has it done, but I made Rarings and Tendencies Edits as well.

How many animations are tied to badges and do a lot of them reappear once you remove all badges.

I could see this working well, however a few of the badges are absolutely mandatory IMO for user vs. CPU play (off the top of my head, a universal minimum of bronze Whistle is a must to get realistic foul numbers).

Most of the badges are completely unnecessary or actively harmful to the offline gameplay, though.

I'm not sure how to describe it, but I just removed all badges from the roster I'm using in MyNBA, and gamepay feels so organic. I need to test more, but it does feel like the tendencies have more of an impact.

I would absolutely agree that it is much better of a less jarring simulation experience playing with all 0 badges at the start of Year 1... till the badges return in Year 2 ranging from 1 to 29 of them depending on the superstar.

Would like to see more testing if a MyNBA file has 0 badges for all players throughout an entire decade, it's a great early-on discovery the community already found out in September. Although it doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes, it's menial to have to re-do it for every season without it being as automatic as the players getting these new badges out of nowhere again from the mentor system or peak progression

The overalls go down tremendously and it may give the wrong impression in this sort of drop of their ratings even though this absolutely is one of the best ways to start off a MyNBA season. I really do miss signature skills of 2K14 as opposed to the convoluted nature of implementing and incorporating 70 badges maximum in mind for players that need to be re-created every year.

At the beginning of each Season, I go in and Quick Edit All Players Badges back to Zero. It takes about 2 minutes.

Overall Ratings really don't mean much in the Game except when it comes to Contracts. I micro manage all of that, so it isn't really an issue for me.

The OVRs don't change that much. Usually 2-3 OVR points is what I'm seeing.
