Re: Every basket is a swish now
That's weird lmao. It's such a drastic improvement from where it was for me back in January. You still won't see shots bounce around the rim or anything, but they will def hit the sides of the rim, back of the rim, and hit the backboard and fall in now.Comment

Re: Every basket is a swish now
First part of the video is Kyrie hitting shots in 2k23 Old-gen. You can see great variety of ball-rim interactions.
Second part is 2k24 current-gen. All catch and shoot jumpers, inside and outside the 3pt line are swishes. Moving shots inside the 3pt line are all swishes as well. There's more ball-rim variety on moving shots outside 3pt line.
I've made catch and shoot 3s with Bol Bol that hit both sides of the rim. So maybe player ratings, bases and releases also play a part on this. But still think the old system was better and more realistic-Comment

Re: Every basket is a swish now
Really odd cause free throws are the opposite. Mostly swishes with jumpshots but free throws it's everything but.
Have done the free throw practice drill around 100 times and not a single +3 from swishing. In 2K20 nearly every FT was a swish, it was way easier to green but even in greens it would bounce or something.Comment

Re: Every basket is a swish now
Was watching a few 2K25 videos and nothing seems to have changed. Every jumper is a swish, and i didn't see a ball hit the rim and bounce in. Granted a short sample size, but how they don't notice this or change it is really something

So it seems 2k is aware of the issue and trying to fix it. We can't really draw conclusions with 3 second clips. We'll have to wait and watch actual gameplay.Comment

Remove variety of features that has been in the game for more then a decade…
Come back couple of years later and claim it back as a new featureComment

Every basket is a swish now
More like they just took something that way less than 1% of the community cares about and worked on it based off feedback.
This is not a back of box feature at all, lolLast edited by The 24th Letter; 08-11-2024, 10:08 AM.Comment

Re: Every basket is a swish now
TBH, I remember noticing the new rim physics when they were introduced but, strangely, I didn't even notice their absence last year.
There is so much to see and notice in these games that I think we all have little things (positive and negative) that stand out to us and it's hard to notice them all. Like some people have a keen eye for some of the ProPlay animations (like specific player walk and running styles) while others claim to have seen little to no difference with Pro Play. Something like rim physics and makes being nothing but net stand out to some while going unnoticed by others.Comment

Re: Every basket is a swish now
I think 2K25 will have rim roll makes, simply due to the new Shot Stick Profiles or whatever it is called. If we are back to making shots that aren't green-timed, I imagine those will bounce/rim-rolls and then the green-timed shots will be swishes.Comment

Re: Every basket is a swish now
Saw another video, and at the 3:40 mark a 3 pointer toilet bowls in so maybe they did improve it this year

Re: Every basket is a swish now
Was it 2k23 when they added different rim physics? It wasn't a back of the box feature but it was something they brought attention to. When a feature like that is, seemingly, removed it's hard to pinpoint why. It could be an unintentional side effect of other changes and adjustments. Or maybe it was intentional for whatever reason (maybe the physics became taxing on the engine when combined with other features like ProPlay). I wish developers were more transparent and addressed situations like this. Even if it was a BS response (like how for years they told us there was nothing wrong with player court ratios but now they've adjusted it). At least acknowledge customer concerns like this.

Apparently when 2k24 first released, players complained about their greens not being swishes and about long rebound animations (lol) and 2k devs patched it.Last edited by shaqfu9; 08-12-2024, 04:48 AM.Comment

Re: Every basket is a swish now
NBA players are going to have more swishes than not, but it isn't 99.9% of shots. There should be variety and there are options between swishes and makes after the ball toilet bowls or bounces around a few times. Not sure if they could replicate this but I love shots that are almost swishes but just catch the rim or back iron on the way through, making a slight "ting" sound.Last edited by scottyp180; 08-12-2024, 09:31 AM.Comment
