Yeah at this point, make it like All Pro 2k8. The ratings were hidden and had abilities for the major skills. I liked how gameplay was for All Pro 2k8. If you're going to have badges for almost every situational skill, then you might as well hide ratings and improve tendencies. We're at the point where you could have a 90+ skill rating, but if you don't have the necessary badges, you won't be good at that skill compared to those with lesser ratings. Just like you could have a low skill rating and a bronze badge, and still be competent at that skill.

It's hard for me to tell how a game is going to look on my tv from YouTube videos, and I miss the days of going to my nearby Best Buy to see how a game looks on-screen. I think we're of the same mind--gameplay is key, but I'm not going to buy 2K25 if the graphics look like 2K24.
Agreed. Gameplay is important of course but I just find it shocking that the game looks nevermind the same, but last year actually worse. I can’t get past that. To me 2K25 appears to look the exact same again, but maybe better than 2K24 (it HAS to be, at minimum) which hopefully at LEAST brings it back up to par with 2K23 lol.

Yikes. Appears they’re walking a fine line here. They brought it back but seemingly and perhaps not as much as 2K23 and prior. Seems this is the best we can ask for.

I’ve never had a huge issue with 2K player movement but every year I see them say movement is new “from the ground up” and often it launches new issues along with that as well. To me, the trailer footage doesn’t show movement or even dribbling to look that much more fluid than 2K24.

The shot contest is everything in this game. If they fix shot contests and allow the defensive settings to work then I will be happy.

Not being able to have off ball defenders leave non shooters to defend the paint is unacceptable in 2024

My god, 2K24 is an utter visual embarrassment. It looks like a mobile game with limited (lighting) resources. I just could never get past how they can downgrade visuals to literally turning reflections “off” ON A “NEXT GEN” PRODUCT.

Can someone upload a pic of 2K23 on that same court and angle from live gameplay footage? I would but my TV broke and am waiting for a new one before I can boot the game up.

That’s my concern to. Did they resize everything to loon like accurate or did they literally just shrink players to “create more space” thus being a new band aid that has more downsides than upsides. Curious to see what keen eyes who can break down the proportions think.

It's pathetic how much they've downgraded the graphics year after year and you guys completely forget how good it used to look. Im passing on 2K until next gen.
I know I’ve repeatedly used the example of 2K23 looking better than 2K24. But 2K21 looks better than 2K25 here (more realistic colors and lighting and court look as well) and that’s obscene.

Cats decided to put the 55th pick in the draft into the hype trailer, with his face scan. No Ant though? Do your thing 2k lol. In all seriousness, I'll be checking for August 12th and the MyNBA blog. That's all I care about.

The reason the visuals downgrade is because they add a lot more stuff later on down the line. Proplay is probably killing resources. But also the body types should still be proportion correctly. torsos, heads, arms, etc.

Something still looks off about the players models/proportions. Still using the stick figures with oversized heads. Ever since 2K18 when they were supposed to fix it, they actually messed it up and never really fixed it.

It's a low bar but I'm glad it's at least an improvement over 2k24. 2k21 might have looked better than 22 and 23, but I don't remember those games being obvious downgrades. I remember playing 2k24 for the first and immediately being underwhelmed by the visuals.

Remember last year when the thing to say was KD’s pro play animation was a canned sequence that locked the defense in? Lol

It’s just a part of the release process sir, and this is just the beginning so don’t let it get you worked up. There’s a couple of us left but the guys that really deep dive into the gameplay side have migrated.
