HiI don't understand how this seemingly goes ignored every year. I'm sure it would be a lot of work touch up the models and proportions for most players, but if they spend one year to get it right they won't have to spend much time on it going forward.
Everyone has their specific body models that stand out and for me it's players like Jokic and Embiid. They're two of the bigger bodied players in the league and they have models that are closer to wing players.
The same thing goes for arena atmosphere. Spend a year on nailing the look and feel of the arenas and they wouldn't have to touch them again for a long time, outside of a team opening a new area.
I know these are small little things that some people don't care about but they add to the overall experience and a company like 2K should be fully capable of improving those areas while continuing to update gameplay. The little things are what separated 2K from other sports games. In like 2k8 they had LeBron biting his nails in the game. They currently have a player like Steph Curry playing with his mouth guard. You're telling me this same company can't upgrade things like player models and atmosphere?
And here's a comparison I'll give. Remember when the NBA and other sports came back from the pandemic and fans started being able to attend games again? Something felt off. Games didn't have the same feel and intensity. Did it necessarily mean the on court product was bad? No. But it wasn't the same NBA we knew and loved. That kind of what 2K is like when you have all these little things that are off. The on court product and gameplay might be great and there are other things to like about the game (signature styles, celebrations, etc) but there's a sense more can be done to replicate what we see watching the game on TV or attending a game in person.
