Why? You don't need to be online to play an eras franchise. Just download and save the DNA of missing draft class guys from custom draft classes and then you can import the DNA into the appropriate draft classes when you get to that season. Gets you around the limit on the number of draft classes you can save.YT - Jimbo2K

Re: It's that time of the year for eras users!
This is why I'm not getting 2k, imo mj did an outstanding job in 2k23 and 2k24 both have full and complete rosters.
Everything new is not gold and in 2k case, this new shiny paint, gone wear off real soon.
No real updates to my era mode is disrespectful, except a 2.0 news paper lol smh
2k23 and 2k24 were special for obvious reasons and it's more than enough basketball for me.
Thinking about buying a decent PC to run 2K again cause mods are gonna be fireComment

As Jim said, if you save the DNA, and just import the players it'll save you alot of time.
You can technically have up to 10 roster/ draft rosters, that are saved locally meaning always in your cloud save.
Now if you go to uninstall the game make sure you do not delete your cloud back up save, in previous versions when servers were shut down, yes you would lose everything.
In 2k23 and 24 even if they did shut down the servers the game is hard coded with rosters and courts, uniforms.
So no it may not would be perfect it still would be better than nothing at all.I stream a variety of video games for relaxation and fun.

I think the only reason they limit local files is to force you to buy the game every year.Comment

Re: It's that time of the year for eras users!
My favorite time in 2k ever was my 90s save with Drazens Nets two years ago and like an addict I am looking for a recreation of that feeling since. I started to worry that this won't return, especially when they keep adding half-finished eras nobody would ask for.
I am looking at the Bird era, as well as the Jordan era. My problem with Kobe is, that at this point the basketball just feels like a worse version of today, while the difference in the older eras is way bigger.
My ideas so far are the following:
- With the passing of Bill Walton it would be great to play with him in the 80s. That Clippers roster has some very interesting names next to him, but in real life it just never really clicked. Now that the post game works better again in this game they could be a great option. Build around Walton, with whoever of the younger guys work out in the end.
- 92 I am really out of ideas. I would love the Cavs team, but starting in 88 and before the Ferry trade that ruined the young core. That's kinda the only idea I have left there though, so maybe I give that a try. Trying to give Daugherty a better career would be a nice one.
-02, even though not my favorite: I think I would try again with the Grizzlies. The rise of Gasol, J-Will, Battier, Mike Miller, Stromile Swift. That is such a fun core! The only problem there is the lack of talent around the league to go for moves to improve that.Comment

Is it just me or is the LeBron era seriously lacking in correct courts for numerous teams.Truth...Comment

Re: It's that time of the year for eras users!
How is this mode and this year's game for people who purely want to simulate?
Haven't played a 2K since the PS4 era and I don't have any desire to play the actual game, but I'm addicted to sports sim games purely for the simulation aspect.
Edit: Follow up question -- would this mode make it possible for me to fully "reset" the history of the NBA? I would love to start in the earliest era possible, erase all records, and start a new fantasy league where the seasons are only 30ish games longLast edited by _-King-_; 09-14-2024, 03:01 PM.Comment

Re: It's that time of the year for eras users!
I only played the LeBron era so far but in the offseason all players lose the bird rights, makes it impossible to re-sign your own players. Anyone played the modern up to that point? Same thing happens?Comment

Re: It's that time of the year for eras users!
Going by info out for 2K25 and the rosters, besides the Curry Era being added, nothing else significant added and instead as usual more taken out. I saw on GamingOva’s roster video that they removed the new prime Kobe cyberface from last year as well. And NO they did not remove the black tape on the classic Bulls 92-04 jerseys. Do yourself a favor if you’re strictly an offline/ERAs player and buy this game when it goes on sale. First 2K in over ten years I haven’t bought on Day One.

Still need some updates though for Kings and Nuggets.Comment
