the cheese is very strong but can be beaten.

concerning Yao, I had some problems with Ewing defending him, but when you put the HOF rim procector/defensive stopper centers (D-Rob, Mutombo, Russel) on him Yao becomes pretty much a non factor.

Russel is really good, but I absolutely hate his Freethrow. With 61 Rating I still miss more FTs than with Shaq...

He is probably the best answer to 5out cheese because he is very fast at the perimeter and can stick to his man no matter who it is.

        Thanks for the replies guys!

I keep him last in my lineup just bc a lot of ppl don't have skills in the post, and it's fun to block Gasols 3s w Yao.

Lin is great. I had 3 quarters before a rage quit.
Lin...11p 19ast! 2reb 3stl (does Dimer badge increase pass receivers chance at getting a bucket?)

Boogie... 54pts 14reb 3ast 2stl Yao simply can't get to the perimeter fast enough when boogie pops. And his release is so quick and easy to get greens w, forget it

Needless to say,y opponent was not a great defender. But Boogie ate up Yao, and Lin was pooping dimes.

Re: Yao. The cop out./ How do you have fun?

I am just on emerald league (3rd prestige) and almost every opponent I face is having Yao. I can't say for sure about how he will be on higher leagues but it is kind of annoying

It is one of the cheesiest cards of the game, basically a super enhanced Bol/Muresan and he is almost a free card, as it goes below 10k in PS4

Almost everyone uses him the way the used Bol/Muresan.

Deny all, and off-ball with him under the basket, and in offense spam paint passes,zig-zag right-left and dunk.

Unfortunately to further enhance the cheese they have made him an elit defender, with 90 (!?!) strength. So Yao is as strong as Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell, and of course stronger than lockdown Mutombo.

In addition he has 92 reaction and 96 stamina (for real?).

From my understanding everyone will be using a "free" Yao, as they did in nba2k15, however at least in 2k15 scoring in the paint was not as easy as it is the last 2 years.

I have managed to stay away from the market almost whole game and I have 450K stacked up. We will see some crazy releases from now on. I feel very sorry for the guys who spent 100K for ruby cards early in the game, or for locking early collections

Anyway, I am going away for a business trip for a week so no games for me. Upon my return I might try him out too.

It's not such a big deal. As with any slow center, you can work them with PnF with two good shooters and one will get an open shot, unless he steps way up.

Or run PnR with two relatively explosive guys and, unless he sags, one will get to the rim.

And, of course, press the pace.

Russell will be a pest with his badging. Just caught Diamond Dikembe for this exact influx of Yaos. So far he has been pimp slapping everything gave him a strength shoe, turn shot contest to manual. Yao cannot play me in the post and Dikembe outruns him lol

                      18mins for boogie.
                      14mins for Lin.

Tireless scorer is activated every score.

This was a one time thing. I can't use Lin against elite pgs bc of his defense. But if he gets on fire....it is actually linsanity. As much as I hate that corny term lol.

Boogie is just a god. He has been super reliable for me for a long time. Pick Pocket on him helps.

I tried the Yao just to see what others see, man this guy miss so much open hook shots it's not even funny lol. What's about of all that height when he missing easy layups and hooks. Yeah I enjoy using spencer Haywood at center Bette than Yao, I hate slow centers and could careless about height.

Yeah, I bet the Strength shoe helps. That said, I think people fixate too much on his lower Strength. He doesn't need to stop people from backing him down to be effective. The key is to just make sure that you keep him in between the opposing center and the basket. Don't fight the backdown so hard that you make yourself vulnerable to the Drop-Step or Post-Spin. Just stay in between and put hands up and whatever shot is taken is usually a bad shot. Especially if you can be disciplined and have good enough timing to do a vertical jump contest.

Haha I owned this guy's Yao Ming with my Ruby AD the last game I played. Dropped 18 on him.

I have several Emerald and Sapphire big men that I would have in my rotation before I would use that Yao Ming.

Oh of course, I only know one person who is decent in the post with bigs and he is a friend of mine, outside of him, he is the only person who makes me change the shot contest to Manuel so I can contest each and every shot, I normally jump if he is about 3 feet within the rim, I know his habits and it's always an up and under fake then shoot. Everybody else I just keep hands up Dikembe with HOF rim protecter and defensive stopper is just an instant presence

Yeah, as opposed to prior years, I think most people underutilize the Post-Fade and Post-Stepback when posting up with their centers.

People stick too closely to Drop-Step and Post-Spin, maybe Post Hook.

So, for these guys, just gotta stay in between and hold hands up. Maybe jump.

What's really tough to defend is when guys mix things up. If you just put hands up, you won't get a contest on a Post-Fade/Stepback. And if they can establish that and one starts trying to follow with a jump block, then the Up-and-Under becomes a nice counter for them.

But, thankfully, most people try to just bully in the paint.
