I also used the Knicks and ended up with Redd. Traded for Reggie Jackson during year 1 and signed Draymond Green, Wesley Matthews, and Tobias Harris in free agency. Got a pretty loaded team; Redd is already a beast on the boards for me.

Glad you guys are enjoying the players. Sometimes we surprise ourselves with some of the talents we create. I have a test season I started so I can check out how guys were progressing and I have been checking out various guys from our classes, and I must say one of my NEW favorite players is SF Misu Cage from DC3.

This dude in on the Bucks running the wing with Giannis and man has it been a show! I'm watching a 1st round playoff game vs the Cavs who still has there core intact plus Nikola Vucevic and John Henson. Anyway Misu is giving Lebron the BUSINESS lol..I love these classes

I like Misu from scouting him. Definitely gonna try and pick him up in one of my many dynasties. Dude just looks like a silent assassin.

Well the two big time stars came and were out the door to the NBA just as quickly as they came. But just because Blackshear and Sapp are gone doesn’t mean that this year will be any less exciting. Last year’s high school recruiting class looks to be stronger and deeper than ever, and we also have some very big names coming back to school. Let’s take a look at the Pre Season All American team and pre season rankings.

          PreSeason All Americans
          F - Miguel Miller – Junior - Arkansas
F- DeAndre Gervin – Senior – Eastern Michigan
          F – Jae’lon O’Daniel – Junior – North Carolina St.
          F – Jabbar Wilson – Sophomore - Kansas
          C – Cam Jackson – Junior - Syracuse

          Players to Watch
          F - Derrick Long - Sophomore - Texas
          F – Kyle Talkers- Junior - Utah
          C – Gavin Spears – Sophomore - Alabama
          G – J.R. Stafford – Sophomore - Texas
          F – Mario Cook – Junior – Ohio State
          F – Trevor Bristle – Sophomore - Rutgers

Can Texas rebound and make it back to the Final Four

F Derrick Long and G J.R. Stafford were amongst the strongest duos in the country last year. The two of them made a promise to one another that if they did not win a championship last year, they would return to school. They come a few points short of that Championship but fell short to Temple. Along with Long and Stafford, Texas has added a top ten recruit in Jarrien Bailey.

While the team is still young, Texas may have the best trio of players in the country as all three of these individuals will more than likely will be high first round draft picks. With Bailey being added to the mix, the Longhorns have a very good chance of taking home a championship this year.

The new Bad Boys of the NCAA?

There was much fuss about number one player in high school last year (C Markevious Morrison) and whether or not he would mature before he got to college. While some claim he will never change, some of the Washington coaching staff disagree and say that he is just misunderstood. Recently however, Markevious Morrison and the #11 rated recruit last year (5 star SG Latrell Spencer) made some questionable statements during a radio interview with the school.

When asked about what opponents could expect from the team this year, Morrison quickly answered “Pain, a lot of pain”. Spencer then quickly intervened stating “We aren’t going to try to go out and intentionally hurt anyone but we are going to play ball so physical that you might get hurt out there if you soft. We want to be known as the Bad Boys of college basketball ”. Morrison followed up with the comment “And I’m Bill Laimbeer baby”.

It has been reported that the coaching staff have talked with Morrison and Spencer about their comments and were told to keep the “rawness” to a minimum.

Big Name freshman has quit the team already

Andrew Baggett was the #4 rated player in the country coming out of high school last year. He was also the #10 ranked football player. He has already played in several football games this year and yesterday it was announced that he would be quitting basketball to focus solely on football. This is not good news for the Wildcats as they had a relatively weak recruiting class.

Landon Webb’s story is sad but very inspiring

For the last 2 years Landon Webb has kept his Grandparents as he focus, He worked the 3rd shift at a local Plant, so he can come home and take care of his Grandmother while his Grandfather went to work. His parents were young when they had Landon and gradually, his grandparents took on the duties of raising him.

Last year, the #5 Rated Senior was being recruited by pretty much ALL of the Big Ten schools. However, earlier this year, Landon’s Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer 2 days before the State Basketball Tournament. Devastated, Landon received strength from his Grandmother who told Landon to win the State Championship for her. With that as his motivation, he set the state record for the tournament, scoring 167pts in 3 games with a High of 62pts in the Championship Game.

After the basketball season, he played rec ball 5 nights a week before work and outmatched all the competition, but his Grandparents saw he that he wanted more. After conversing with his grandparents, Landon decided to go to Northern Iowa so that he could stay as close to home as possible while still having the opportunity to pursue his dream. Although Webb would probably be a top five pick in next year’s draft with his level of talent, it is difficult to predict whether he will bolt for the NBA after year 1 or stay at Northern Iowa for several years to be close to his grandmother.

Morrison wasted no time causing controversy

We have already spoke about Markevious Morrison earlier in the year and the fact that he wants the Huskies to be known as a modern day version of the Bad Boy Pistons. Last night against Santa Clara, Morrison took a swipe at the face of forward Cody Ivey which led to a broken nose for Ivey and an ejection for Morrison.

After the game, Morrison stated “I would never do anything like that on purpose but it is what it is”. Some are speculating that Morrison will be suspended for at least one game. Interestingly enough, even after being ejected with 10 minutes to go in the game, Morrison still finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks in a 67 – 49 win.

Who the heck is this Desi Richardson kid?

Many are still trying to figure out if this Desi Richardson is legit or if he is simply having a good month. After 4 games, the guard (15th ranked high school player last year) has most definitely taken the role of the go to scorer for Indiana. Last night, the quiet assassin had another spectacular night as he finished with 30 points and 3 rebounds. At the moment Desi is looking like the NCAA player of the month.

Notre Dame’s Sherman Lewis is one of the good guys

It’s thanksgiving time and most people are really just concerned about how much turkey and NFL football they can take in at once. ND guard Sherman Lewis has always been a little bit different. “When I was 15, a club that I was in during high school went to a couple of homeless shelters to bring and help serve food” Lewis said. “Ever since it has been a tradition of mine to find the closest shelter and offer my services. If I make it to the next level, I can hopefully offer a lot more”.

At the moment, it is looking like a long shot for Lewis to get drafted and if he does it will probably be late in the second round. Whether he makes it to the league or not though, I think it is safe to say that this kid will still be successful in life.
