Best Juniors in the country?
Just last month we discussed the top seniors in the nation and because they are seniors, we are sure that they will be entering the draft. Since the rest of this series will include all underclassman, we will include a section for each player that discusses what we think their draft range projection would be and the likelihood of that player leaving.
5) Marcus Crawford/ Michigan State/ Center 6’10 255
Word around down is that Crawford is gone after this year no matter what happens. I chose not to put it at 100 percent because who knows what will happen if he gets injured or the team falls short and he gets motivated to come back. Either way, Crawford is ready to be an impactful defender in the NBA and is also improving his back to the basket game. Hard to imagine he will make it out of the lottery if he leaves.
If he Left After This Year: Lottery Pick
Likelihood that he will leave: 80%
4) Robert Manning/ Utah/ Center 6’11 278
Manning has been very quiet about his plans following this year. Some speculate that his silence means he is leaving but it could just mean that he doesn’t know and does not want to put his foot in his mouth. One thing is for sure and it is that he definitely is physically ready to play in the NBA. I do think he could benefit from getting better defensively but teams are probably ready to scoop up Manning right now.
If he Left After This Year: High Lottery Pick
Likelihood that he will leave: 60%
3) Pooh Lewis/ Illinois/ Small Forward 6’8 226
Pooh Lewis was visibly disappointed that David White did not return after the two lost in the National Championship game last year but he also took it as an opportunity to be the sole leader of the team. Lewis has done a great job of that and is having a spectacular season. Currently Lewis would be a solid contributor but it is believed that he could be an All Star player and he will be probably looking to capitalize on what may be a relative weak draft after the top two or three picks.
If he Left After This Year: Top Five - High Lottery Pick
Likelihood that he will leave: 75%
2) Nat Hawkins/ UNLV/ Power Forward 6’6 260
Nat Hawkins reminds me of Charles Barkley because he is clearly shorter than he claims he is (Hawkins likes to tell people that he is 6’8 or 6’9) but he plays even bigger than the guys that are that size. Hawkins is probably the best rebounder in college basketball right now. He demoralizes players with the way he uses his body to box out and get boards. Not to mention he is staring to develop a bit of an offensive game. A comment that Hawkins made about wanting to learn more in college makes me believe that he will stay another year but I could be wrong.
If he Left After This Year: Top Five – High Lottery Pick
Likelihood that he will leave: 30%
1) Emmanuel Rodriguez/ Texas A&M/ Center 7’0 257
Emmanuel Rodriguez has already stated that he will stay for his senior year but I put it at 5% because you never know what can happen. Rodriguez is a guy that is really earning the title of “two way player”. He has developed a mid range jumper and improved on his post moves and he is already one of the most versatile and consistent defenders in the country. Whenever he decides to declare, I am sure that you will hear his name called very very early.
If he Left After This Year: Top Three Pick
Likelihood that he will leave: 5%

Former Illinois player David White drops some news on us
Let’s just keep this short and sweet. Former Illini star David White made a tweet last night that said “Can’t wait for my brother Pooh to join me in the league. Good luck on your last year”. Although he quickly deleted it, the Internet had already gotten their hands on it. Of course, White claimed he was just “making an assumption” but I think we all know that’s a lie. Keep an eye on Pooh Lewis for the rest of the year…. Looks like he will be available very soon.

Key contributor for Texas goes down
Texas’ big men seem to be falling left and right. Last month it was star forward Derrick Long and now freshman center Deboi Austin has gone down with a undisclosed “back injury”. The interesting thing is that this hasn’t stopped the Longhorns one bit as they remain undefeated and they are number two in the nation. Oh, and they’re scheduled to get back their boy Derrick Long very soon as well. Watch out NCAA!

Another freshman big man goes down, but not to injury this time
As we stated before, this has been a year where a lot of freshmen have stepped up and played big. One of those freshman is Syracuse big man DeSean Bishop. Bishop has allegedly been suspended indefinitely after it was discovered that he had other individuals writing his papers. Syracuse fans are upset claiming that this type of thing happens all the time on every campus but Bishop has taken responsibility saying “I have to be a man and accept my punishment. Hopefully I can come back sooner than later”.

New Mexico point guard Soloman Myers says don’t forget about me
Solomon Myers isn’t the type to verbally make a fuss about the fact that everyone seems to be talking about Ra’shawn Michaels as the best guard in the country when he was having an even better freshman campaign last year. Well, maybe it is getting under his skin but he has decided to make noise on the court. When asked prior to a game against Fresno State if he still felt that he was the top prospect in the nation he quietly said, “watch tonight and you guys can let me know”. 40 minutes later…. 31 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 1 block. Can’t argue with results.

Hey, Reece and Sapp gotta ask this question.
Have you guys thought about sending 2K sometype of presentation package of the work you guys have done for draft classes?
What would be some concerns or deal breakers for working with them on making generated draft classes that come out of the box?"ITS SO FLUFFY!!!">:DComment

Re: SimWorld’s 2k16 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp/Dreece/Blindside (XBOX One)
Man, let's have some real talk for a minute. We have been doing this for a little over four seasons I believe. A couple of years ago I actually reached out to LD2k when he was actively posting on these boards and he never responded. It was very elaborate and detailed but I got no response. I am not trying to put that man out there or complain but I'm just telling it like it is. Now Dreece has also communicated with a 2k representative through Twitter who acknowledged our work and stated that he would pass it on to the individuals that make those type of decisions. We heard nothing back after that as well. So basically, they are AWARE of our project and I am quite sure that they have visited the thread but that is as far as the communication has gone.
Now in regards to today... I have grown less interested with the whole idea of working directly for 2k in general. For starters I have advanced pretty far at the agency I work for so 2k would have to be offering some pretty good money for me to make that move and I am not sure if they would be planning on doing that for someone to work on draft classes/fictional league. Also, I am not sure that we would be able to have the type of freedom that we have now. If I were to ever work on draft classes for any company, the classes would HAVE to be connected as they are in real life. I don't believe draft classes should stand alone. As it is with real life, I should not be able to know who is declaring for the draft prior to the season starting. There may be a star that you hear about or a player that you are interested in following in real life but you don't know when he is going to leave. There is unknown factor there which is why I don't tell you who is going to be in the draft class until we have already simulated March Madness. Speaking of March Madness, it would have to be in the game. Once again, that is a big part of college basketball and it causes teams to make bad decisions based off of a player's performance.
I would have to be able to have full control of the potential as well. Currently too many players in the generated draft classes have potential that would allow them to make an NBA roster. That just isn't accurate. Each class has 150 players in it. In real life, even a portion of the 60 players DRAFTED are not good enough to stay on a team. The draft should be HARD. Everybody does NOT get that much better. Some players just have no business being in the NBA or even the D-League for that matter. Players should be SCARED to press the button to draft a player without scouting and I don't think that is present with the generated classes.
I know I am rambling at this point but my "demands" I'm sure would be way to much for 2k because Dreece, Blindside and Ronyell can tell you anal I am about this stuff (and they honestly are too which is why we all work well together). At the moment, I an perfectly content with my role in all of this. To be honest, the two people that would be best for a job would be Dreece and Ronyell because they have much more knowledge than me about how this game works under the hood. But that's just my 2 cents. Back to work!SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Thanks for the responses guys.
One more question:
I believe that mygm/myleague is still too "easy" and I use the entire simworld package to make the game feel as grit and grind from on the court decisions and off the court decisions.
You guys can offer separate responses but if you could pitch a feature to 2k that could be in the game that you could use to complete the simworld experience per say what would it be?"ITS SO FLUFFY!!!">:DComment

Re: SimWorld’s 2k16 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp/Dreece/Blindside (XBOX One)
I also believe that MyLeague is too easy. I think that could be alleviated more so by small changes as opposed to a major feature in my opinion:
1) Potential has to be lowered across the board. There are too many young players that have "best case scenario" potential ratings. Look back five or six years ago at the potential rating for a lot of the rookies and other younger guys. It would make you laugh to see some of the guys that have potential of 85 and 90. I understand why they do it but it just leaves the mode with way too many star players. The increase in star players means that there is always someone to sign that can make a big difference. So you miss out on Lebron or KD in free agency.... there are plenty stars to choice from. I feel that by lowering potential and decreasing the amount of REALLY good players in the league, those stars become more valuable and make you fight to obtain them.
2) Bring back the D-League.
3) Have three options for playing the mode. A) Traditionally where players are able to see the overall and all of the ratings. B) Where all of the ratings are available but overall is gone. C) The only thing available to you is letter grades in different areas. I think this would allow the fans that are in love with overall to still have that option and for the individuals that want more difficulty to go that route.
4) Implement the things I discussed in my previous posts about the draft classes.
I can probably think of more but that's all I got at that moment.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Re: SimWorld’s NBA2K16 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp/Dreece/Blindside (Xbox One)
I've always been of the belief that the ratings 2k puts out ruins the MYLEAGUE experience. There are far too many upper 70 and 80 rated players. It does a poor job of distinguishing the value of stars in the league. I have seen countless times where a deep team was always better than a team with stars. And that is just not true in the nba. A team like today's Miami Heat (whiteside, bosh, deng, wade, dragic) would be better than a team like the cavs, and that's just not true at all.
Thankfully, the guys at SIMworld put out their own roster which alters the attributes.
I can't wait for the nba roster, or even the league roster to fully come out so I can start a MYLEAGUE. I just refuse to use the stock rosters.Comment

Re: SimWorld’s 2k16 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp/Dreece/Blindside (XBOX One)
@Ronyell & Sapp: The difficulty levels you brought up is pure gold! I would love to have to build a team around guess work of what they can and cannot do just looking at letter grades and badges rather than an overall or potential rating simply amazing idea. Would be 2k's equivalent to Legendary on Halo LOL."ITS SO FLUFFY!!!">:DComment
