January 3<sup>rd</sup>
Looks like we really underrated Duke at the beginning of the year

When he season started we knew that Duke would be a top 25 team but I don’t think any of us predicted that the team would be undefeated with no team even close to topping them. The Blue Devils already had a top ten prospect in Sophomore PF Cash Indigo and starter in sophomore SF Larry Jackson that would be a star on a lot of other teams. Freshmen Guards Brent Christmas and Rocco Morris have been pleasant surprises and are both looking like top 20 prospects as well. I know that Brent Christmas said that he wanted to stay for four years but I expect that Cash Indigo and Rocco Morris may leave and are both looking like lottery picks.

January 11<sup>th</sup>
We praised a lot of freshman but one of them is really separating himself from the rest of the crew

Reggie Graham, the freshman SG from Oklahoma, has been mentioned with some of the other top young players in the league but recently he has been really showing himself to be elite. Although his scoring numbers have dropped, much of that is because he has been doing so much more on the court. At times, Graham has looked unstoppable off the dribble but even more impressive has been his Sportscenter worthy chase down blocks and ability to look down other guards around the country. The Big Board will be released at the end of the month and I am pretty sure you can expect to see him very close to the top of the list.

January 16<sup>th</sup>
Freshman center Tyshaun McQueen is a beast but he is a bit of a problem

Every team has a limit to what they will accept when it comes to talent. McQueen has always been known to be a bit of a problem ever since he was in high school. Since he arrived at Michigan, he has already been in a fight on campus, been accused of cheating during a mid-term, accused of taking another student’s essay and turning it in AND stealing food from the on campus Chick Fil-A. Many may say “Ehh that’s no big deal” and depending on what you are willing to put up with, maybe it isn’t. Now reports are coming out that during a practice, McQueen told an assistant coach “You know you could wind up missing if you ain’t careful” after being told that he was “playing lazy”. Although the school denies these reports, McQueen will not be playing in the next two games for “personal reasons”. I think Tyshaun McQueen is a top 5 talent that may drop down to the teens (or even lower) if he doesn’t pull it together.

January 20th<sup>th</sup>
North Carolina Star PF Jayson Callahan gets Injured AGAIN

UNC PF Jayson Callahan has made himself up to the big board over the past couple of years and is definitely a potential lottery pick but after missing half the season due to injury last year, it has now been announced that Callahan will miss an undetermined amount of games with a shoulder injury. I don’t want to stamp any player with the “injury prone tag” but I’m a bit worried about this young man.

January 25<sup>th</sup>
Let’s look at the top 5 Junior Prospects

Seniors don’t get the love that they deserve sometimes but we here at SimWorld have love for the senior prospects which is why we always start our Top Five series with seniors. Let’s take a minute to look around the country and see who the top senior NBA prospects are.

Position: SF
School: Oregon State
Projected Draft Range: Mid to Late First Round
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Because he is faster than you and probably anyone else that you know or have on your squad. This guy is a track star and an Olympic hopeful. He is a superior athlete and his improved on what people knocked him for when he came in as a freshman… his actual basketball ability. He has improved each year and went from a guy who can run track to a potential first round pick.
Chance that he declares for draft: 40%

Name: Maddox Valpone
Position: SG
School: California
Projected Draft Range: Mid to Late First Round
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Because Valpone is on a tear and has really assertive himself as a guy that can create his own shot and more importantly, hit that shot. His defense leaves a bit to be desired but you can’t argue with a guy who can put points on the board.
Chance that he declares for draft: 80%

Name: Dominique Briscoe
Position: SG
School: North Texas
Projected Draft Range: Mid to Late First Round
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Those small college guys are starting to become a “thing” now. Briscoe is looking to finish in the top five in the nation in scoring as he is currently averaging 22.5 points per game. Once again, another guy that can score in bunches when given the green light.
Chance that he declares for draft: 50%

Name: Cypress Von Impe
Position: C
School: Wake Forest
Projected Draft Range: Lottery to Mid First Round
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: We talked about this guy last year as a sophomore so I won’t waste a lot of time but let’s just say that teams always have room for versatile, athletic centers that can finish at the basket.
Chance that he declares for draft: 80%

Name: Derwin Amani Blackshear
Position: SG
School: Villanova
Projected Draft Range: Top 2 Pick
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Because he is a Blackshear. Because he has is the most reliable shooter the nation has seen in years. Because no one has held him under 20 points this year (other than three games where he was in foul trouble). Because there is no universe where I can imagine him not being a superstar.
Chance that he declares for draft: 75%

Man it makes me sad to say but it won't be releasing tomorrow. A couple of revelations caused us to have to go back and change a couple of areas for everyone.It wasn't a MAJOR setback but just one that will prevent a Christmas release for DC1, DC2, the NBA roster and the fictional roster as we would have liked. It's literally right around the corner so keep a CLOSE eye on the threads next week.

Not that I've become a SW geek or anything, but I've read this so many times that I assumed the question was about how he got along with the rest of his family, since I thought the question of how he was related to them was too obvious.

Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Because he is a 6’11” 227 big man with a polished post game. He enjoys getting dirty down low and although he needs to put on some muscle, he has a wide variety of go to moves in the post.

School: West Virginia
Projected Draft Range: Early to Late Lottery
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Because he is the tallest player in the draft and he knows how to ball. He can instantly come in to the league and become a reliable rebounder and paint defender.
Chance that he declares for draft: 99%

School: North Carolina
Projected Draft Range: Early to Late Lottery
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Because like Von Rushing he is a very good post defender and rebounder but he has also shown improvement with his offensive game. Injuries are a problem but he definitely has a high ceiling,.

Projected Draft Range: Early to Late Lottery
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: I just noticed that all of these top sophomores have been big men. Unlike the other guys though, Indigo plays more like a small forward with the ability to handle the rock and beat other forwards off the dribble. He has a unique skill set and the potential to be much better.
Chance that he declares for draft: 85%

Name: Nakevion Johnson
Position: PG
School: Arizona State
Projected Draft Range: Top Five to Early Lottery
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Because even though he has been dethroned as the top point guard prospect in the country by Vic Flair, he is still one of the most NBA Ready players in the country. He is patient, a hustler and one of the few lock down defenders at the position. Someone is going to draft him early if he declares but rumor has it that he wants to stay to work on his offensive game and potentially be a top three pick next year.
Chance that he declares for draft: 25%

February 12<sup>th</sup>
While we are at it, let’s look at those freshmen as well.

You know the drill. Every year there are a handful of freshmen that you know are going to go early in the first. All three of these guys fit in that category IF they declare.

Projected Draft Range: Early to Late Lottery
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: MORE forwards. Anyway, Rozier is a big time athlete that hasn’t really established much other than that. As it stands, he isn’t ready to make an immediate impact in the league but many of use think that he could be a perennial all star in time. Because of his up and down year, I think he will return and try to assert himself as a top five or top ten pick.
Chance that he declares for draft: 40%

School: Duke
Projected Draft Range: Early to Late Lottery
Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Because he is already a top shooter in the league and will more than likely finish in the top 15 in scoring in the nation this year. Unfortunately for you guys that need a SG, he has already stated that he wants to play at Duke for four years so I seriously doubt you will see him for a couple of years.

School: UCLA

Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Well for starters he has a cool freaking name. Other than that, he is a 6’9” 230 pound that towers over most players at the position. He is extremely poised and just has a knack for the game of basketball. I think he is an All Star in the future.

Why You Should Keep an Eye Out for This Guy: Because he is one of the most legendary wrestlers of all…. Oh, not that guy? Well, this guy has quietly taken the nation by storm. He isn’t an amazing athlete but he is just skilled all over the court and knows how to run a team. I think there is no chance that he returns to school as he is already ready to get some major minutes as a pro and could start depending on who drafts him.

February 16<sup>th</sup>
I know some of you guys like the Summer League so I got something for ya….

We did this a couple of times last year and decide to bring it back. Because only 60 guys can get drafted, there are going to be some guys that miss the cut that will be available to join your Summer League squad. Let’s look at some of the guys that may not get drafted but could impress in the Summer League.

Name: Seth McCarter
Position: SG
School: St. Mary’s
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 215 lbs.
What’s the deal with Seth: Well Seth is definitely a scorer. Mr. McCarter is currently in the top 15 in scoring averaging over 20 points per game. Unfortunately, Seth has really struggled against superior talent throughout his four years which has led scouts to believe that he wouldn’t be very successful in the league. Of course, you could be the smartest guy in the room if you get him as a free agent and prove everybody wrong.

Name: Nick Tolliver
Position: SF
School: New Mexico
Height: 6’9”
Weight: 226 lbs.
What’s the deal with Nick: Nick has some freakishly long arms and is the ONLY player in the nation to currently in the top 20 in both blocks and steals. You’re probably wondering how a guy like that is NOT going to get drafted. Well, he takes way too many risks and makes bad decisions on the court. He can’t shot, he can’t finish at the basket and most of his scoring opportunities came in transition or off of offensive rebounds. None the less, he is someone that is worth checking out as a free agent or in the summer league.

Position: SG
School: Washington
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 190 lbs.
What’s the deal with Micah: Well for a shooting guard Micah isn’t much of a shooter and he turns the ball over a lot. Well, now that you know why he may not get drafted, you should know that this guy can play some pretty impressive defense when he is focused and with enough playing time, he’s going to rack up a bunch of steals.

Position: SF
School: LSU
Height: 6’9”
Weight: 216 lbs.
What’s the deal with Iman: There are certain players every year that are not necessarily good overall players, but the casual fan thinks that they are amazing because they make an amazing play here and there. That’s Iman. He is one of the more explosive finishers in the country and when he got a clear lane, you could bet it would be on Sportscenter. If you are in to those type of players, you have to give Iman a shot.

School: Army
Height: 6’9”
Weight: 248 lbs.
What’s the deal with Matt: Matt isn’t going to get drafted because he just doesn’t have the ability to play offense. He’s tried for four years and it just ain’t happening. However, he plays hard and he has really improved defensively to the point that I would consider him one of the better post defending seniors (currently 8<sup>th</sup> in the nation in blocks last year). If he is available after the draft, give him a shot to show you what he’s got.

February 21<sup>st</sup>
