South Region

#1 Kansas keeps rolling, this time with a 15 point victory over UCLA. Jason Qualls and Jalen Braun combine for 47 points in the win.

#4 Michigan takes care of #5 UNLV 78-61 behind Jr. PF Jacoury Tate’s monster game (27 points / 16 rebounds)

#3 Florida advances with a 77-70 win over #11 West Virginia. Jr. SG ViJay Shaw shines for the Gators, scoring 26 points, and swiping 4 steals.

#2 Duke continues its collision course with Kansas with a 84-67 win over Iowa State. Duke had too much fire-power for Iowa State’s Colton Blake (33 points). Dustin Harrison led the Blue Devils in scoring with 22 points.

West Region

#1 Texas hangs on to win a close one over #8 Notre Dame, 76-72. With the game tied 72-72 with 37 seconds left, Sophomore PG Jameer Jackson drives to the hoop and finishes with an acrobatic layup, steals the ball on the defensive end with 13 seconds and gets fouled…hits both FT’s to seal the game.

#5 Iowa advances to the sweet sixteen with a 74-70 win over #4 California. Keenan Woods with another big game, this time scoring 33 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

#3 Ohio State defeats #6 Memphis 67-61. SF Cleveland Wilson notches a triple double in the win with 14 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.

#2 Arizona is too much for #10 Tennessee, 86-68. Adrian Kemp and Michael Greene combine for 52 points and 21 rebounds.

East Region

#1 Kentucky struggles with #8 Auburn, but hangs on in OT 86-80. Kentucky Center Deven Sweetney got into foul trouble early which limited his minutes but he took over in the 2<sup>nd</sup> half and OT. Finishing with 26 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks.

#4 Fresno State outlasts #5 Houston, 73-71. Fresno State SF Jermaine Kelly locked down Houston Guard Jerran Terry on the last possession, resulting in an off-balance shot that just grazed the rim.

#11 Wake Forest with another upset, this time beating #3 Villanova 67-64. Freshman SG Martin Bowman scored 16 points to lead the Demon Deacons.

#10 LSU moves onto the sweet sixteen with a 74-61 win over #2 Gonzaga. The LSU inside-outside combo of PG Amber Cross and C Kareem Cox was too much for Gonzaga to handle.

Midwest Region

#1 Indiana walks all over #8 UCONN 86-61. They started off hot and never let off the gas. Indiana So. PF Joshua O’Gallagher scored 26 points.

#5 UOP advances to the Sweet Sixteen with a 74-69 win over #4 Georgetown. UOP SG Clinton Reid led all scorers with 27 points.

#3 UNC holds off a late rally from #6 Mississippi State 80-76. UNC Sr SF Jarvis Parker scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the win. Fr PG Otis Brooks led the way for Miss. State with 22 points and 6 assists in the loss.

#2 Stanford takes care of #10 Oklahoma 81-76. So. SF Anthony Vaden had 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the Cardinal. Oklahoma So PF Rudy Baker had 21 points in the loss.

Sweet Sixteen

South Region

#1 Kansas continues their quest for back to back titles with a 84-73 win over #4 Michigan. Jr. SG Jason Qualls had 25 points in the victory. Michigan PF Jacoury Tate scored 18 points and had 13 rebounds in the loss.

#3 Florida is going to the Elite 8 after a hard fought win over #2 Duke 71-68. Florida SG ViJay Shaw locked down Duke SG Dustin Harrison, limiting him to 9 points on 3-13 shooting. Shaw also scored 18 points for the Gators.

West Region

#5 Iowa’s run comes to an end with a loss to #1 Texas 78-68. Fr. SF Keenan Woods scored 31 points in the loss. While Texas PG Jameer Jackson had 16 points and 13 assists in the win.

#2 Arizona moves on with a 82-75 victory over #3 Ohio State. So SF Michael Greene scored 25 points for Arizona. Ohio State’s Cleveland Wilson had 12 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds in the loss.

East Region

#1 Kentucky beats #4 Fresno State 81-76. Another big game for Kentucky Center Deven Sweetney, 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Kentucky Freshman PF Cassius Morgan had his best game of the tournament so far, scoring 21 points and nabbing 10 rebounds.

#10 LSU is going to the Elite 8 after a 78-71 win over #11 Wake Forest. Fr. PG Amber Cross scores 31 points and dishes out 11 assists for LSU in the win.

Midwest Region

#1 Indiana is too much for #5 UOP (83-72). Indiana PF Joshua O’Gallagher scores 32 points and knocks down 6 3’s in the win.

#2 Stanford wins a close one against #3 UNC 74-68. Stanford SF Anthony Vaden continues to impress, scoring 24 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Senior Center Casey Bonner scored 16 points and had 12 rebounds. UNC So. Center Tony York struggled to get anything going this game, scoring 5 points on 2-10 shooting.

Elite 8

South Region

#1 Kansas is one step closer to their quest for back to back championships after beating #3 Florida 79-72. The game was tied 66-66 with 4:12 remaining and Kansas took over and ended the game on a 13-6 run to win the game. Jason Qualls and Jalen Braun scored all of the final 13 points for the Jayhawks. Vijay Shaw had 17 points and 3 steals for the Gators.

West Region

#1 Texas outlasts #2 Arizona 80-77. With the game tied 77-77 with 16 seconds left, Texas PG Jameer Jackson calls for a ISO, then a high Pick N Roll with 4 seconds left, the defender goes under the screen and Jackson nails the 3 to win the game 80-77.

East Region

#1 Kentucky falls to #10 LSU 74-71. It looked like this could be Kentucky’s year, but Center Deven Sweetney rolled his ankle in the first half and wasn’t able to return. LSU Fr PG Amber Cross won the battle against fellow FR PG Autry O’Neal, scoring 26 points and handing out 9 assists. O’Neal scored 6 points. Kentucky’s leading scorer was Fr. PF Cassius Morgan with 19 points, who has upped his draft stock with his play in the tourney.

Midwest Region

#2 Stanford beats #1 Indiana 77-76 in a wild back and forth game, including the crazy final 10 seconds. Indiana trailed 75-73 and Joshua O’Gallaher gets fouled on a 3 point shot, and sinks all 3 FT’s to give Indiana a 76-75 lead, only to see Stanford come down and win the game on a highly contested Air-balled shot by Vaden, but tipped in by Center Casey Bonner as time expires.

Final Four

#1 Kansas vs #1 Texas
Kansas starts the game on a 10-0 run and never looks back, they take a 39-30 lead into the half where SG Jason Qualls has already registered 15 points. Texas cuts the lead to 42-36 early on in the 2<sup>nd</sup> half but that’s as close as they ever get and Kansas runs off to a 87-70 win. Qualls ends with 22 points, Bruan adds 16 points, and Johnson-Odom grabs 14 rebounds. Texas PG Jameer Jackson scores 17 points and records 7 assists, and tells reporters after the game that he intends to come back to school for his Junior year because he wants another shot at winning a National Championship.

#10 LSU vs #2 Stanford
It’s been quite the run for #10 LSU so far, and PG Amber Cross has them heading into the locker room at halftime up 37-34. The teams go back and forth throughout the game and the lead changes hands multiple times and is tied with 2:02 left in the game 67-67. LSU PG Amber Cross comes down and drains a 3 to put LSU on top 70-67 with 1:47 to play. Stanford scores on the next two possession to regain the lead 71-70, and Vaden hits an and-1 shot with just 26 seconds to play to increase Stanford’s lead to 74-70 which ends up being the final score. Cross finishes with 24 points, while Vaden for Stanford ends the game with 27 points.

National Championship Game

#1 Kansas vs #2 Stanford
Kanas were the favorites coming into the game and many expected them to win pretty easily. Stanford was set out to prove the naysayers wrong. After a sluggish start for both teams, they find their groove and the halftime score is 41-37 Kansas. Qualls and Braun combine for 30 points in the first half, while Anthony Vaden for Stanford puts up 12 points.
Stanford takes a 64-63 lead with under 9 minutes to play, on a Casey Bonner dunk, however, Kansas answers with a quick 8-0 run highlighted by two 3’s by Freshman reserve guard B.J. Jones (his only points of the night). Stanford fights back and retakes the lead 76-74 with 3 minutes to play on an alley-oop to Center John Bailey. This will be the last lead for Stanford though, as Kansas finishes the last 3 minutes on a 10-3 to win the game, and become back to back National Champs 84-79.

Scouting Report

Top 5 Projected:

Kennan Woods, SF – Iowa (Freshman)
Woods was the consensus #1 pick before the season started and everything he did on the court this season proved those analysts right, he’s still the top prospect in this draft. He has a solid all-around game that should allow him to help whichever team drafts right away.

Jalen Braun, SF – Kansas (Sophomore)
Braun the 6’9 SF from the back-to-back champion Jayhawks, played side-kick to Jason Qualls the past 2 years, but scouts have him going before him in the draft. He’s a special talent that plays very well on both ends of the floor and has a higher ceiling than his counter-part. Scouts believe he can become a perennial all-star with defensive player of the year potential as well.

Jason Qualls, SG – Kansas (Junior)
Qualls, the 6’6 SG from Kentucky and back-to-back nation champion and player of the year could be the “safest” pick in the top 5. His game is NBA ready, he plays both ends of the floor, and has the work ethic needed to become a great player. Scout’s do note that he might need to become a better 3pt shooter.

Miroslav Tarlac, C – Serbia (19 Years old)
Tarlac is a 7’2 center who some scouts have linked to Porzingas due to his unique skills from the center position. He has the potential to become a great player, and most scouts believe he’ll be a solid starter at worst.

Autry O’Neal, PG – Kentucky (Freshman)
O’Neal is a 6’3 PG, who some scouts love and think will develop into a great PG, while others believe that he has bust written all over him.

Top 6 – 10

Malik Clark, PG – UNLV (Freshman)
Clark is a 6’3 PG, very athletic and a good defender. He’ll need to work on his shooting in the NBA. Clark has a high ceiling, but could also have a low floor…

Bobby Green, PF – Duke (Sophomore)
Green is a 6’10 PF for Duke, that has drawn some comparisons to Christian Laettner, he does have a similar skill-set so we understand the comparison. Scouts do think he has a really high ceiling, the question is, will he reach it, or just become a role player?

Patrice Johnson-Odom, C – Kansas (Freshman)
John-Odom didn’t have to contribute much on the offensive end for his National Champion Jayhawks team, but he showed enough to get him into the top 10 just based on his athleticism and his ability to rebound the ball so well.

Tony York, C – UNC (Sophomore)
York is a 6’11 center from UNC, he excels in the post-game and is a quality rebounder. He’s still a bit raw so drafting him this high is based on his potential to become a great player, because he won’t see much playing time his first year in the league.

Anthony Vaden, SF – Stanford (Sophomore)
Vaden the 6’7 SF from Stanford has definitely upped his stock over the past 2 seasons. His upside might be limited, but his game in NBA ready right now. He has a pretty good all-around offensive game, and decent defense. He’s projected to be a solid starter in the league who might sniff a few all-star games in the right situation.

Top 11 – 20

Carson Hughes, SF – Georgetown (Senior)
Hughes is a 6’9 SF/PF who is an athletic finisher, he’s a senior that still hasn’t polished his game, so he might already be who he’s going to be…an athlete that can finish at the rim but won’t scare teams from 3pt range.

Cleveland Wilson, SF Ohio State (Junior)
Some mock drafts have Wilson going in the top 10, we have him at 12. He’s a 6’7 point-forward. Teams that are looking for a point-forward might reach for him, other teams may not covet his skill-set and he could drop a few spots.

Kojo Bishop, C – Michigan State (Freshman)
Bishop is a 6’11 center that is really athletic for his size and already plays good defense. If the coaching staff that drafts him and work on his offensive game he has the potential to be a really good player for a long time.

Alan Washington, SG – California (Senior)
Washington was the 13<sup>th</sup> ranked recruit coming out of high school in 2021 and at the time most scouts that he would become a sure-fire top 5 pick. Fast forward 4 years and he’s a senior leaving Cal expected to be a lottery pick, not as good as initially expected but he’s a talented defender with a good mid-range game.

Loukas Patsatzoglou, C – Greece (20 Years old)
Patsatzoglou is a 7’1 center from Greece, he’s already a really good interior defender who rebounds the ball with tenacity. He’s also a really good passer for a center. He’ll need to work on his offensive game in the NBA, but can help right away on D & rebounding.

Aleks Rasic, SG – Serbia (20 years old)
Rasic is a 6’6 guard from Serbia who possesses the ability to become a lockdown player on Defense and a quality 3 point shooter on offense in the NBA, his limited upside may push him outside of the top 20, and if that’s the case some lucky GM will look really good getting him in the 20’s.

Baron Cooper, SF/SG – Auburn (Freshman)
Cooper has a ton of upside for becoming a great two-way player, he’s a good defender and has the length and size (6’8) to give offensive players problems, and on the offensive side of the ball he’s a capable scorer.

Cassius Morgan, PF – Kentucky (Freshman)
Morgan is a 6’9 PF who has a well-rounded game, he can drive to the basket, he can hit 3’s, he can run the floor on fast breaks, he can rebound…the problem scouts see is that he’s not great at any of those things…if he can become great in a few areas, he’ll be a steal in the mid-first, if not…just another role-player.

Louis Evans, SG – Oklahoma (Freshman)
Evans could possibly be the best pure shooter in this year’s draft. He’ll need some work on the defensive end and other areas of his offensive game to stay on the floor in the NBA.

Taye Peoples, SG – Louisville (Freshman)
Peoples is a 6’5 SG, that could fill in at PG in a pinch. He’s very athletic and excels at attacking the basket, he’ll need to work more on his all-around game to become a starter in the NBA.

Other Notables:

Clinton Reid, SG – UOP (Senior)
Reid finished 2<sup>nd</sup> in the nation in scoring, and shows the natural ability to score the ball. If he was a few inches taller (6’5) he would probably be a top 10 draft pick. He is a senior so some scouts are worried about his ceiling, while others feel he still has room to grow. He’s great from mid-range and attacking the basket, could become a solid starter if he can improve his defense and 3pt shot.

Ian Gray, PF – Gonzaga (Senior)
Gray is a typical stretch 4, who can also rebound really good. Some reports have him going late in the first round.

Jakob Lynch, SF – Tennessee (Senior)
Lynch, was the runner up for defensive player of the year, and has the potential to become an elite defender in the NBA. Lynch could sneak his way into the mid-first round if a team is in need of a quality wing defender that can knock down some open 3’s.

Rudy Baker, PF – Oklahoma (Sophomore)
Rudy Baker is 6’9 and played the PF position for Oklahoma, however, many scouts are pointing out his skill-set might be better served at SF. Baker has a really good mid-range game and should be able to develop his 3pt shot some more, he does however lack the ability to body up guys in the post and doesn’t rebound the ball to well.

Sava Mirosavljevic, PG – Serbia (19 Years old)
Mirosavljevic is a pass first PG that is also a very good defender, an ideal situation for him would be to have scorers around him so he’s not forced to have to put up a bunch of points, and has the potential to become a lock-down defender.

Jarran Terry, PG – Houston (Sophomore)
Terry is a 6’4 combo guard, as a PG he might be too much of shoot first type of player for some offenses, but could slide over to SG in those situations. Should be a good value pick in the late first or early second round.

Jarvis Parker, SF – UNC (Senior)
Parker has a bit of a unique skill set, especially in today’s game where everyone covets the outside shooting ability. Parker is a 6’8 small forward that excels in the post at scoring and is a quality rebounder.

Dustin Harrison, SG – Duke (Senior)
Harrison is quite the shooter, but is a bit limited on the defense side of the ball which is why he’s not going to be drafted in the first round. He can shoot though, he will knock down shots for you.

David Mills, PG – Washington (Sophomore)
Mills may have been able to up his stock and become a 1<sup>st</sup> round pick next year, however, he decided now was the time to go pro. He has excellent ball handling skills and passing ability, combine that with his elite speed and he could provide a much needed spark off the bench.

Petr Kosut, PF – Czech Republic (22 year old)
Kosut could develop into a strong offensive and defensive rebounder. His offense may always be limited. He does have a ton of strength which will help him bully guys down low.

Well done on these draft classes. Awesome work. I have quite the 1-2 punch with Anthony Taylor and Zion Butler. I have Anthony O'Connor as my sixth man, giving me a spark off the bench with his scoring. Isaac Tate is great on D and makes a good stretch 4 on offense. I got my scout's eyes on Reggie Wheeler now. Love the attention to detail as well as the storylines that help bring these fictional players to life.

I'm also curious to how things went for certain players in everyone else's Leagues.

Firstly, I want to thank you for this project!

Best fictional (or otherwise) DCs I've used...and I've been playing since 2k2...

Started an ATL association using "Start Today" feature after the trade deadline...

Finished near the bottom of the league and ended up with 3rd overall pick, after the lottery...

Took Deron Williams (SF) and he's a BEAST...

Won the ROY as a Sixth Man / Spot Starter with a 15 / 5 / 5 line...

He's an 84 OVR starter / future All Star (or better) caliber player, who sent T. Prince to the 6th man role in his second year...

Was offered Matt Ferguson (C) for a couple of my remaining picks in that first draft and traded for him...

Went from Bench to Role to Spot Starter and in Season Two, he's Starting full time...

Made it possible to move on from Dedmon, who I REALLY liked...

Ferguson isn't as good on D or the boards, but he can score in the low block regulaily enough to offset the deficiencies on D...

After finishing 8th and getting knocked out in Round One by eventual Eastern Conference Champs (MIL), the first pick was around 20th overall...

Took Colin Rhodes (C) first and he's looking like a solid Bench / Role guy that is challenging Plumlee for backup minutes...

Nate Lever (PG) was still around for the last pick of Round One (both picks were right where you projected them), so I took him...

He's a development / project, but has shown enough to indicate that he may be a serviceable backup to Schroder by Season Three...

Devin Lloyd (SG) rounded out that draft and it's too early to tell if he'll ever contribute...

All told:

GREAT classes / very immersive experience with these VERY "lifelike" rookies...

Well rendered, complete skill sets / appearances / etc. that rival or beat the 2k "Start Today" default rosters...

AND great story lines and deep detail on there college careers...
