Re: SimWorld Presents: The NBA2K19 Fictional Draft Class Thread (for Xbox One)

I'll just be straight up... I know I said I wasn't doing any fancy scouting reports but I changed my mind. So when all is said and done, all of the information from each year will be wrapped up in a pretty little 100 plus page package. With that being said, just want to post a few more things for the end of the season with year 1. Below are some award winners for the end of year 1:

Re: SimWorld Presents: The NBA2K19 Fictional Draft Class Thread (for Xbox One)

Something that I wanted to take from our Madden classes is the "Where are They Now" section. As you know, I always include a list of the top 100 incoming freshmen before each draft class. After each year is complete, I am going to share this new section with you guys so that you can follow players throughout their career before they get drafted. The section provides quick notes about how that player's college career is going (or has gone), if they declared for the draft and where they are projected to go in the draft. I also combine their projected draft position along with their college performance to provide a grade for them. Also note that the grade is given based off of their high school ranking so the number 1 rated player is obviously expected to perform better than the #30 prospect and therefore will be graded more strictly. As I stated in the previous post, everything will be included in the scouting report so you will get it there as well but I wanted to post it in the thread just so that people can scout guys for the future:

No release yet. And to to ease all the confusion the 1st class won't be dropped until the release of the Simworld rosters. With that being said we may drop DC2 along with it.. heck might even throw all three classes we've been working on...you never know.

Just let us work and we'll give ya what ya need. Patience.

When you say it will release the same time as the Simworld rosters are you talking the “MyLeague Experience” ones or the fictional league that you guys usually do (if that’s even a project going on this year)?

I know I said I wasn't doing a detailed scouting report but... I changed my mind. Since we already discussed the possibility of more than one class at release, I want to go ahead and give you guys the scouting report for DC1 so we can move into DC2. Hope you enjoy. I'll start posting DC2 stuff tomorrow:

Happy to announce that the ping pong balls bounced in my Heat’s favor, who moved up from the projected #7 pick and won #1! I even felt bad and did it over and got #1 twice in a row, seems like it’s meant to be haha.

Lawson about to look real nice in a Heat jersey

Yeah it seems u won.Heat or nothing...But its so hard to really pick bekause this klass is so good...So you going with Lawson huh. Good pick something one to build with. Wade is getting up there and may retire.

He retired for me. Lawson seems like the perfect guy to take the new mantle of face of the franchise and fills my biggest need if he’s as good a scorer as advertised.

Wade retires rarely in My League so i find it hard to sigh him for that much money...But i move J.Rich to SG and let Winlow play SF and im thinking on drafting and PF to feel that need and trade Waiters for a second round pick to get me a PG to build on..

Sorry for the delay. I was going to slow leak the DC2 info but since you guys know we are probably going to release multiple classes at the start, I figure it would be best to just go ahead and release it all at once. I know the classes are not out yet, but do me a favor and dive into these scouting reports and let me know what you like, don't like. Let me know if you enjoy how the stories connect and all that good stuff. Below you can find the top storylines going into the season, the individual write ups for the top 60 prospects and the next top storylines going into Year 3 but you can get the most information out of the full report linked HERE or at the very end of this post. Hope you guys enjoy. Moving on to DC3 while we continue to work diligently towards the end goal here.

TOP STORYLINES GOING INTO YEAR 2
                                - Will French guard Dominique du Gast continue to impress scouts and will he declare for next year’s draft.

                                - How will #1 F Terez Downing (attending Oregon) high school prospect live up to the hype of being the number one prospect after Jeremiah Lawson.

                                - Will Kentucky SG Treshawn McAlister break out now that the Wildcats are HIS team.
                                - After nabbing the 6th ranked overall high school prospect (Center P.J. Curtis), will the Duke Blue Devils get back to dominating the ACC or is there a new wave coming.

                                - With Syracuse recruiting #3, #9, and #21 rated high school prospects (SG Hakeem Jennings, SF Kyle Silinski and PF Demarcus Parker respectively), will they be the Kentucky of this year?

                                - With Illinois SF King Morlock gone, will PG A.D. Duncan and SG Justin Crawford be able to take Illinois back to the championship with the addition of four star recruit C Brandon Jackson.

                                - Will Eastern Washington SF Armand Douglas have another great year. He made the decision to return to school after averaging 22.7 ppg.

                                - Of the returning players, who do you have being the favorite to take home player of the year honors?
SMU Sophomore C Juwan Ellis averaged 20.6 ppg and 7.8 rpg
Maryland PG Sophomore Dominique Stilley averaged 20.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg and 3.3 apg
Wake Forest Junior PG Jamar Clark averaged 20.1 points, 5.9 rpg and 4 apg
Texas Sophomore SG Eugene Covington averaged 21.7 ppg and 3.7 apg

                                Year 2 Prospects
                                1) C Kordell Ramirez/ Freshman/Arizona 7’2” 240
                                Prospect Grade: 89.9/ B+
                                Current Talent Level: Starter
                                Potential Ceiling: All Star
Ramirez in a Few Words: “Versatile big man that can be the best player in a weak draft”
Looking a Little Deeper: Kordell Ramirez showed how versatile he could be as a high school player and it’s the reason that he was the 2nd ranked high school player last year. At Arizona, his team didn’t have a ton of success ad would actually be considered a disappointment but they shouldn’t take away from him as a player. He averaged almost 20 points along with 10 rebounds and more impressively, 3.8 assists. He is a guy that will be able to fill up a stat sheet in a few years.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: Has said kind words about fellow top five prospect SMU C Juwan Ellis as the two were frequently compared throughout the year as prospects. When asked about Ellis he said “If I had a jumper as smooth as Juwan, I would be unstoppable”. Ramirez also had an instate rivalry with Arizona State freshman center Tommie Bishop (Bishop did not declare for draft). He also made Houston Junior SF Michael Dulaney fall with a crossover during a game. Embarrassing stuff man.

                                2) PF Devin Martin/ Freshman/Texas A&M 6’10” 239
                                Prospect Grade: 88.5/ B+
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: All Star
Martin in a Few Words: “The prospect that crashed the top five party uninvited”
Looking a Little Deeper: Devin Martin is a player that everyone expected to be a first round draft pick but I don’t know if anyone expected him to be this high. Martin started off as a potential mid first rounder, gradually moved into the lottery and then just kept making big plays and eventually found himself here. Martin does a lot of things well that we generally talk about with top five picks. While he is an above average athlete, he excels with his consistency and basketball intelligence. He is a capable defender in the post (top 20 in the country in blocks) and on the perimeter. He doesn’t make many (if any) boneheaded plays. He has a good attitude, can play the 3,4 or 5 and he developed some range during his one year. Martin doesn’t WOW you anywhere but he is an all around capable player that will get better.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: Was heavily recruited online by Texas sophomore SG Eugene Covington when he was in high school. After announcing that he would go to Texas A&M, Covington unfollowed him. Not sure if there is actually any bad blood but it’s always nice to know.

                                3) PG Dominique du Gast/ 19 Years Old/France 6’3” 196
                                Prospect Grade: 88.4/ B+
                                Current Talent Level: Potential Starter
                                Potential Ceiling: All Star
Du Gast in a Few Words: “The point guard the US has been waiting for, but is he as good as the hype”
Looking a Little Deeper: We have been talking about du Gast since last year and people thought that he was going to really be a superstar when he got here but I’m not sure that is the case. Now that doesn’t mean that he will be a bad player at all…. He’s going to be good. However, an extra year of footage let us know that du Gast really struggles with hitting the three and is very inconsistent with his mid range jumper as well. Some consistent range would have put him at the number one spot easily for me but even without that, he is a great ball handler and a gifted passer that I think will average 10 assist a game one day.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: Du Gast has stated that he doesn’t know much about any of the other prospects but stated that he watched a lot of Jeremiah Lawson while he was in college and is looking forward to playing against him in the league.

                                4) PF Anthony Privott/ Freshman/Connecticut 6’9” 249
                                Prospect Grade: 88.4/ B+
                                Current Talent Level: Potential Starter
                                Potential Ceiling: All Star
Privott in a Few Words: “A guard in a forward’s body that cause some headaches for the defense”
Looking a Little Deeper: What impressed me most about Anthony Privott was that he handles the rock just as well as a point guard so it didn’t surprise me that he played guard for most of his basketball career. When he got to Connecticut, he struggled initially because it’s clear that he hasn’t quite figured out what to do with that growth spurt he experienced late into high school and still reverts to driving around opposing forwards. He can get to the basket and score but he’s still learning to do some of the things you expect from your 250 pound forwards like protecting the paint and rebounding. I think he can get there eventually though.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: Privott is known as a fun and goofy kid that generally gets along with everyone. His Connecticut teammate Junior SF Ray Ray Ogbonda (who also declared for the draft this year) stated that Privott is the kind of guy that can keep a smile on everyone’s face after a loss. Some people will say that is a great guy to have in the locker room and other’s might say that he doesn’t take the game seriously. I guess it’s all a matter of perception.

                                5) C Juwan Ellis/ Junior/ SMU 7’0” 248
                                Prospect Grade: 88.2/ B+
                                Current Talent Level: Potential Starter
                                Potential Ceiling: High Profile Starter
Ellis in a Few Words: “Another versatile big that can put up numbers immediately”
Looking a Little Deeper: Juwan Ellis was this year’s player of the year so he is definitely a household name but I still think he is lucky to be the number 5 overall prospect even in this weak draft. Let’s start off with the good. Ellis is a versatile big man that can do a variety of things on the court but his range is the most impressive thing to me. Ellis at 7’0 shoots the ball from behind the arc like a guard so it’s damn near impossible to defend and it’s the reason he averaged 24.9 points per game at SMU. My hesitation with him as a prospect however stems from the fact that he showed some signs of struggling when he played against more athletic big men. While Ellis isn’t a stiff, he is an average athlete at best. I think he has longevity in the league but I don’t think he will change a franchise unfortunately.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: In an early matchup against Duke in November, Juwan Ellis dribble the ball with 5 seconds left while Duke freshman center P.J. Curtis stared him down at the top of the perimeter. Juwan pulled from behind the arc with 2 seconds left and nailed a three to put SMU up two and upset the number 9 team in the nation. Juwan flexed and screamed in P.J.’s face and although he took it in stride, I think Curtis will be looking for him when he makes it to the league.

                                6) SF J.R. Snyder/ Freshman/Florida 6’7” 223
                                Prospect Grade: 88.0/ B+
                                Current Talent Level: Potential Starter
                                Potential Ceiling: High Profile Starter
Who is J.R. Snyder: J.R. Snyder has been accused of being a bit one dimensional and I suppose his critics may have a bit of an argument there. When you are as good of a shooter as Snyder is however, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. Snyder developed into a guy that wasn’t afraid of the big moments or the big shoot on his way to 18.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg. Snyder needs to become a better passer and a defender but that can be worked on. His strength is definitely letting it fly as well as his underrated basketball IQ.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: While in the Sweet 16, Snyder dropped 39 points on Syracuse but it unfortunately wasn’t enough as the team lost by three. That game alone may have cemented him as a top 10 pick. Both J.R. Snyder and his sophomore teammate PF Jeremiah Robinson would leave Florida after that game but maybe the two can play together at the next level.

                                7) SG Treshawn McAlister/ Sophomore/ Kentucky 6’7” 211
                                Prospect Grade: 87.6/ B
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: High Profile Starter
Who is Treshawn McAlister: Treshawn McAlister came back to school after a championship and the departure of three of the other freshmen because he wanted the team to himself and you know what…. He was quite impressive as the star of the Kentucky show. He definitely showed a dimension of his game that we didn’t know was there as he was able to get into the lane pretty consistently and score at the basket. He really shined as an on ball defender and finished in the top 20 in the country in steals with 2.34 per game. He needs to get more consistent with a jump shot but I think he can grow to be a long time starter in the league.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: As we already stated, McAlister doesn’t have much of a relationship with his former championship teammates (Morgan, Carpenter, Washington) as far as we know but we know that the kid doesn’t hide behind anybody and he is willing to take whatever we throw at him whether it is love or hate. Take that however you want.

                                8) SF Kyle Silinski/ Freshman/ Syracuse 6’10” 222
                                Prospect Grade: 87.5/ B
Current Talent Level: Top of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: High Profile Starter
Who is Kyle Silinski: Silinski is one of my favorite players in this draft because he does things that he doesn’t look like he should be able to do. He’s a very “goofy” looking 6’10 so the way he controls and facilitates the rock still surprises me everytime I see it. Silinski was center stage for a large portion of the season because his other freshman star teammate SG Hakeem Jennings missed games all throughout the season due to nagging injuries. Silinski showed that he is comfortable controlling the rock and facilitating but doesn’t seem to have complete confidence in his scoring ability. With time I think he could be a very good starter and possible All Star.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: Silinski is a quiet kid but he has really built a great on the court relationship with fellow freshman Hakeem Jennings. When Syracuse lost in the tournament, he looked legitimately crushed that he could not prolong their tourney run and allow Jennings to get back on the court. Jennings is going to be a stud as a sophomore if he can beat the injury bug but it would have been really cool to see those two get one more run at it.

                                9) SG Eugene Covington/ Junior/ Texas 6’5” 205
                                Prospect Grade: 86.2/ B
Current Talent Level: Top of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: Starter
Who is Eugene Covington: Covington is a popular guy amongst casual fans. He averaged over 20 points per game last year and he is an overall great scorer and that is always a good formula to get drafted. Unfortunately, the casual fan doesn’t pay attention to certain weaknesses. For starters, he isn’t a great athlete and he struggles to create his own shot so he’s going to need a good point guard by his side. Also, he lacks lateral quickness and has been smoked on numerous occasions by faster guards. With that being said, you gotta score points to win and he can do that.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: Covington doesn’t shy away from pulling the trigger and one night against Abilene Christian, he just couldn’t miss. Covington hit 8 of 10 threes and walked away with 41 that game which left Twitter talking about him all night.

                                10) PF Gatis Galante/ 20 Years Old/ Latvia 6’10” 251
                                Prospect Grade: 85.7/ B-
Current Talent Level: Top of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: Starter
Who is Gatis Galante: Gatis Galante is a guy that a lot of scouts have had on their radar but not many people know much about. Galante appears to be a prototypical big man that can score with regularity in the post but is also a capable defender as well. Unfortunately, because he lacks the athleticism and range that so many teams in today’s NBA look for, he may not fit the need of a lot of GMs but I feel like there is always a place for a traditional big man in the league. In a stronger draft he would probably be a top 17 to 18 prospect but here, he is top 10.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: Galante hasn’t had many moments or relationships that are noteworthy, but if you are in to random facts it is worth mentioning that both of his parents are in the entertainment industry with his father being a director and his mother being an actor. The kid has never been hungry for money so he is playing ball because he loves the game.

                                11) PG A.D. Duncan/ Junior/ Illinois 6’3” 179
                                Prospect Grade: 85.3/ B-
Current Talent Level: Top of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: Potential Starter
Who is A.D. Duncan:Duncan may not have walked away with the awards but he will be a player that the University of Illinois will remember forever. In his three years, he helped get the team to the National Championship game twice and this year they finally walked away with the win. A.D. Duncan isn’t your ideal facilitator and he will usually take the shot if he sees it especially since he has proven to be a good shooter. Duncan has quick and is good at disrupting opposing guards mid drive. The biggest problem with Duncan is that I don’t see him getting a whole lot better than he already is but he can definitely contribute and hopefully be a starter for someone.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: A.D. Duncan found an open Justin Crawford in the corner to bury the three that seemed to break the will of the Duke Blue Devils in the championship. A.D. Duncan’s friend and former Illinois teammate King Morlock says one of his biggest regrets was not staying one more year so that he could experience that feeling of winning a championship with his teammates.

                                12) PG Jamar Clark/ Senior/ Wake Forest 6’4” 213
                                Prospect Grade: 84.2/ B-
Current Talent Level: Top of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: Potential Starter
Who is Jamar Clark: Jamar Clark is a name that has been around for a while. He played all four years in a sport where that is just unheard of for good players. He has been able to produce and put up numbers since day one and in his final season, he logged another First Team All American season. Clark is not very quick but he is powerful and he can push around smaller guards and rebound better than most at the position. He is also a good shooter as well. Unfortunately, his lack of quickness has been exploited at times and he seems to be pretty close to his ceiling.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: Freshman teammate Joshua Diggs (#5 nationally rated incoming freshman last year) said that during his first practice, Clark knocked the wind out of him when he was attempted to defend him. Diggs claims that Clark is “damn near the strongest point guard I’ve been on the court with”. Also, Clark’s younger brother Jamal is expected to be a late first – early second round pick in this draft.

                                13) SG Tyriq LeMay/ Freshman/ Vanderbilt 6’4” 198
                                Prospect Grade: 84.0/ B-
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: Starter
Who is Tyriq LeMay: Now we are getting to some of the trouble guys. Now Tyriq LeMay is a talented young man which can be seen by the fact that he averaged 23 points per game and only five people in the country could say they averaged more. LeMay has a great mid range jumper but is also able to get to the rim with his creative ball handling and quickness. So why is he my 13th ranked prospect in a weak draft…. Well for starters, his own coach said that he’s talented but he doesn’t listen. Everybody has said that he isn’t interested in playing defense and even if he was, I’m not sure if he has the skillset to be a very good defender. He has more upside than some of the guys ahead of him but I don’t think he’s quite ready for the big stage yet.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: On a rainy night in February, Tyriq LeMay drove the lane and finished an “And One” while being fouled by Auburn star Nathan Curlings. LeMay walked towards the crowd, grabbed his crotch and said “Who’s F***ing with me”. He was kicked out of the game but had a very hard time accepting responsibility for his actions. He’s got some growing up to do definitely but he is definitely talented.

                                14) SG Ray Ray Obgonda/ Junior/ Connecticut 6’9” 218
                                Prospect Grade: 83.4/ C+
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: Potential Starter
Who is Ray Ray Obgonda: Ray Ray Ogbonda is an all business type of player that has contributed for the Huskies in a variety of different ways. Ogbonda’s scoring opportunities decreased a bit with the emergence of freshman Anthony Privott but what they won’t tell you is that Ogbonda and his passing and playmaking ability played a big part in Privott having a lot of easy opportunities. Ogbonda is a good athlete, a smart facilitator one of the better wing defenders in the draft. He isn’t “special” in any area and isn’t going to ever be a real scoring option for any team in the NBA but he’s worth the pick here in this weak draft just for consistency off the bench.
Notable Relationships/Big Moments/ Miscellaneous Info: Ray Ray Obgonda proposed to his girlfriend on Connecticut’s senior night… and he’s not even a senior. Talking about stealing the show. For what it’s worth they have already broken up. I know that doesn’t have anything to do with basketball but take that info for whatever it’s worth.

                                15) PG Cameron Perry/ Freshman/ Indiana 6’6” 200
                                Prospect Grade: 82.7/ C+
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
                                Potential Ceiling: All Star
A Quick Look at Cameron Perry: Cameron Perry is the most intriguing prospect in the draft in my opinion. I’ve seen him rated as high as number 3 in some mock drafts and as low as 30 in others. Let’s start with the facts… Perry can play ball. He has great size, he uses that size to his advantage, he can rebound, defend the perimeter… he is at least serviceable in MOST areas. Where does he lack you ask… well his lack of basketball IQ led to him making a ton of mistakes on the floor. He also isn’t patient and some may say he is “mentally weak”. The mentally weak rumors came after Perry’s diagnosis of depression was leaked by an unnamed person after Perry missed six games during the season. Personally, I don’t like to judge those with mental health issues because it can happen to any of us but there will be a lot of scrutiny on this talented kid and I just hope he can handle it.

                                16) SF Patrick Richardson/ Freshman/ Baylor 6’8” 235
                                Prospect Grade: 82.3/ C+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: Starter
A Quick Look at Patrick Richardson: Patrick Richardson was a five star recruit that came to Baylor and performed to expectations in my opinion averaging 17 points, 8.1 rpg and 2.4 bpg. As the stats say, he is a versatile player that can play both forward positions. Right now, Richardson is a physical small forward that will probably struggle in the NBA until he really gets comfortable with his play style. At the moment, he should be able to provide some versatility, defense and rebounding off the bench. If he can figure things out and get drafted into the right situation, I think he can be a yearly starter in the league.

                                17) SG Nikos Korias/ 18 Years Old/ Greece 6’5” 205
                                Prospect Grade: 81.6/ C
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
                                Potential Ceiling: High Profile Starter
A Quick Look at Nikos Korias: Nikos Korias really came out of no where last year and he wasn’t even initially in my top 45. The 18 year old had a lot of growth for 17 to 18 years old and his tape shows that he is really comfortable getting to the rim. The problem with Korias is… well there are a few. Korias has never played with any competition even close to that of what the league offers so the adjustment will be serious. Also, he turns the ball over attempting to do too much and he also has shown some trouble with his defensive IQ and makes the wrong decisions quite frequently. Because of how much he improved in one year, there is a chance that he could be a really good player OR he could be a waster draft picks that is forgotten about in a couple of years.

                                18) PG Jarvis Hart/ Freshman/ Gonzaga 6’2” 169
                                Prospect Grade: 81.3/ C
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Top of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jarvis Hart: Jarvis Hart made news before even getting to college when he changed his commitment from Maryland to Gonzaga at the last minute. On the court, Hart was a pleasure to watch as he moved with lightning speed and quickness up and down the court. That’s the reason he was a five star prospect to begin with but he still in the process of attempting to use that speed effectively. I’m not sure if he will be a big time player with his lack of size, struggles with defense and average shooting ability but his speed can definitely be a weapon if used correctly.

                                19) SF Arthur Hutchinson/ Senior/ Depaul 6’8” 228
                                Prospect Grade: 80.5/ C
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Top of the Bench
A Quick Look at Arthur Hutchinson: This may be quite a shock for some people who have never heard the name Arthur Hutchinson. Well, he is a four year starter on a Depaul team that performed relatively well over that time period. He hasn’t shown any big jumps but has steadily improved over the four years. He is a good ball handler at the forward position and can run the floor well but his stock jumped in my opinion with his amazing defense on Duke’s Travis High in the NCAA tournament. Unfortunately they still lost the game but he made sure his name was known.

                                20) PF Jermaine Ejekam/ Senior/ Depaul 6’11” 221
                                Prospect Grade: 79.8/ C-
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Top of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jermaine Ejekam: Jermaine Ejekam is a perfect example of why you should just leave as a freshman in order to trick scouts into believing that you have a higher ceiling than you really do. I know it sounds messed up but it’s the truth. As a freshman, Ejekam was a high-flying big man that could finish with authority and pile up weak side blocks. Scouts thought that he had the potential to be a star. But then as time went on… he continued to just be the same thing. He didn’t show much improvement especially on the offensive end and so he dropped in the rankings but he is still a guy that can bring a specific skill to the table.

                                21)C Ledante Winter/ Sophomore/ Georgetown 6’11” 261
                                Prospect Grade: 79.6/ C-
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Top of the Bench
A Quick Look at Ledante Winter: Ledante Winter has been a very productive player on a poor team for the past two years. This year, Winter ranked sixth in the nation in rebounding with 11.2 rpg. Winter isn’t a very versatile player. He isn’t going to score much and he isn’t going to make a lot of highlight worthy plays but you do know what you are getting with him and that’s a tough guy that will be a presence in the paint and pull down rebounds.

                                22) SG Tommy Winston/ Junior/ Arizona State 6’6” 203
                                Prospect Grade: 79.3/ C-
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Top of the Bench
A Quick Look at Tommy Winston:I hate to be a Debbie Downer but Tommy Winston was supposed to be something special. Watching him in high school, he almost seemed unstoppable with his ability to control the rock and weave his way to the basket. He was a good finisher and he really seemed to be able to score at will. I’m not sure if it was just the increase in competition, the growth spurt or the ankle injury but he just doesn’t look like the same guy anymore. Winston is still capable of getting to the rim and has quick hands that lead to a lot (finished 7th in the nation with 2.68 spg) but I can’t imagine him being much more than a consistent bench player.

                                23) PG Yavuz Sahin/ 18 Years Old/ Turkey 6’4” 187
                                Prospect Grade: 79.1/ C-
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: Potential Starter
A Quick Look at Yavus Sahin: This isn’t something that you will hear a lot about a foreigner coming over but… This guy is going to give people fits on the defensive end. Sahin has very impressive lateral quickness and plays aggressive yet smart defense on the perimeter. He struggles tremendously offensively and we all know this is an offensive league so that why he is here but in the right situation, he can definitely become a starter in the league.

                                24) C Anton Vencalek/ 20 Years Old/ Czech Republic 6’10” 278
                                Prospect Grade: 78.8/ C-
Current Talent Level: Top of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Top of the Bench
A Quick Look at Anton Vencalek: I know you probably think I made an error here because the current talent level is the same as the potential ceiling but I trust me… I didn’t. I just don’t think there is a lot of room for growth with this guy. I feel like he’s currently on the lower end of the “Top of the Bench” level and could progress to the higher end of that level but not much more. He is a very strong, very physical player that might struggle with the speed of this game but will definitely provide a physicality that many modern day centers aren’t prepared to handle defensively.

                                25) SG Patrick Reynolds/ Junior/ Washington 6’4” 198
                                Prospect Grade: 78.4/ C-
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Top of the Bench
A Quick Look at Patrick Reynolds: The 6’4 shooting guard is a player that I feel like has a skill set that will easily translate to the league. He’s very quick and he is a good ball handler and that goes a long way anywhere that you play. Unfortunately, he has a lot of problem areas. For starters, he isn’t very efficient, he tends to freeze other players out of the offense when he gets frustrated and he sometimes uses his quickness to take ill advised chances on defense. What’s also worth noting is that his production has slightly decreased each of his three years at Washington. With that being said, he athleticism still makes him a first rounder in this draft.

                                26) PF Jeremiah Robinson/ Sophomore/ Florida 6’9” 251
                                Prospect Grade: 78.3/ C-
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
                                Potential Ceiling: Potential Starter
A Quick Look at Jeremiah Robinson: Jeremiah stayed behind after his freshman season to play with talented freshman J.R. Snyder and the two both had great seasons (Robinson finished with 16.5 ppg and 6.9 rebounds) but they fell short in the sweet 16 to Syracuse. Robinson is a finesse post guy that can score in a variety of ways down low. He needs to get stronger and run the floor better or he’s going to get exposed but I think he is one of the few guys late in the first that I think could eventually become a potential starter in the league.

                                27) SF Jamal Clark/ Sophomore/ Wake Forest 6’8” 237
                                Prospect Grade: 78.2/ C-
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jamal Clark: As unfair as this may sound, a lot of people have made the claim that Jamal isn’t a first round prospect and that he benefitting from being the little brother of star point guard Jamar Clark. Well, part of that is true because he shouldn’t be a first round prospect in most drafts but he is in this draft so get off his back. Clark is a guy that will be able to play the 3 and the 4 as he has the ability to play with his back to the basket as well as pull down offensive and defensive boards. He doesn’t offer much more than that but could be a decent addition to an already established team.

                                28) SG Keshaun Cheatem/ Freshman/ Louisville 6’5” 208
                                Prospect Grade: 78.0/ C-
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Keshaun Cheatem: Quick story about Keshaun Cheatam: Cheatam came in as a highly rated four star recruit (#25 overall rated high school player in the nation) and was expected to contribute offensively right away. Cheatam struggled scoring the rock and then he had a wrist injury that really affected his jump shot when he came back. It was questioned rather or not he should even be playing at that time but that’s when people really started to realize he was one of the best on ball defenders in the conference. He took that momentum right on to the NBA draft and it’s something that should lead to him hearing his name called. If he wants to see some major NBA minutes though, he has a lot of areas to improve in.

                                29) C R.J. Smith/ Senior/ Stanford 6’11” 265
                                Prospect Grade: 77.9/ D+
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at R.J. Smith: R.J. Smith is a hard prospect to grade because in a perfect world, he would probably be a top 15 pick. There are a couple of things that are stopping that however. For starters, R.J. Smith is a slow center in a league that has a heavy emphasis on speed and high paced play so that’s a strike. Also, he had two injuries to the same knee in his four year career (which is why I say you should just leave early while your stock is high) and this has scared some scouts away. At the moment, he can contribute now but I’m just not sure if he is ever going to be someone that amounts to more than someone getting some situational minutes off the bench. I could be wrong though… do your own research.

                                30) PG Jalin Davis/ Junior/ Fresno State 6’3” 188
                                Prospect Grade: 77.8/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jalin Davis: Another dark horse first round guy who admittedly wasn’t even on my list until his tourney performance against Washington and defensive stud Andrew Avery. Even though he only scored 22 points, those were extremely impressive against a guard that is considered by many to be the best perimeter defender in the nation. Davis is able to get to the basket with not only decent speed but ball handling ability and shiftiness. He is a bit erratic and emotional but it might be worth taking a chance on the young man this late in the first or early in the second.

                                2nd Round
                                31) PG Rakosi Kidvegi/ 19 Years Old/ Hungary 6’4” 206
                                Prospect Grade: 77.7/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Rakosi Kidvegi: Some people may be surprised to see this guy here but I have to admit that I was intrigued after a quick mixtape of him emerged on the Internet. The kid is an amazing ball handler that is creative and knows how to make defenders look dumb. The problem is that I’m not quite sure his basketball IQ is there as he struggles to make the most of that ability. He also doesn’t play much defense and he isn’t a very good shooter so he’s going to struggle to get a lot of meaningful time in the league.

                                32) SG Andrius Dvarionas/ 19 Years Old/ Lithuania 6’5” 222
                                Prospect Grade: 77.7/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Andrius Dvarionas: I know that we generally think of the foreigners as “soft” when they come from overseas but we are dealing with a new breed cause Dvarionas is far from it. He clearly wasn’t blessed with the athletic ability of many of his peers but he is physical, he puts his body on the line at all times and he has shown that he can hit the three from NBA range. I think he can find a home on someone’s squad.

                                33) SF Antonio Milanese/ Sophomore/ Ohio State 6’9” 217
                                Prospect Grade: 77.6/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Antonio Milanese: For those of you that follow the “Where are They Now” sections, you’ll know that Milanese hurt his wrist during his freshman year and wasn’t really able to show his skills at full strength. As a sophomore, Milanese showed that he could get hot as a shooter but also showed that he could get very cold and struggle to get along with his teammates (had a few on the court run-ins with freshman Wade Parker). Milanese dropped from a potential first rounder to a high second rounder in two years but when you can shoot, they usually can find somewhere for you.

                                34) PF Trevor German/ Freshman/ Kansas 6’8” 259
                                Prospect Grade: 77.5/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Trevor German: There were two freshman big men at Kansas and as mean as this might be to say, German was not the one that most people were dying to draft (Teammate Justice Gentry returned to school for sophomore year). German is similar to Gentry in a sense as the two are both defensive forwards that got a lot of blocks and shut down opposing front courts. Gentry proved to be more athletic and more effective on the offensive end (which is why he will probably be a first round pick in the next couple of years) but German is still going to be a guy that can find a place in the league as a solid defender.

                                35) SG Enock Coleman/ Senior/ Kansas State 6’6” 221
                                Prospect Grade: 77.4/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Enock Coleman: Now we could be overrated this guy because he spent a lot of his time at K. State on the bench but he really played well the last two years along side future potential top five pick PG Xavier Fields. He’s versatile and extremely physical. He’s a guy that will be able to play the two or three in the league and get rebounds and bully smaller guys. He isn’t very quick and can’t create for himself so he won’t add a lot to the offense immediately but his toughness and grit should definitely count for something.

                                36) SG Jan Sauka/ 20 Years Old/ Lithuania 6’7” 220
                                Prospect Grade: 77.3/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jan Sauka: Lithuania is putting some talent out there this year (although not first round talent). Sauka is listed as a shooting guard but he’s actually closer to a point forward. Sauka handled the rock most of the team for his team back home and although he had some turnover issues, he proved to be a good ball handler and decent play maker. The issue is that Sauka won’t be able to be the primary ball handler on any team that drafts him so he will have to find other ways to contribute.

                                37) PF Dymtro Krypychov/ 21 Years Old/ Ukraine 6’10” 233
                                Prospect Grade: 77.3/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Dymtro Krypychov: I could be overrating Krypychov because I admittedly haven’t seen anything on film that suggests that he is a good basketball player. The only thing that I know for sure is that this guy has some serious range. I know that a player can look good on a highlight tape but I’ve sat and watched whole games of this guy and he just doesn’t miss that often. The problem is that when he is playing in the League, there will be more athletic players that will be able to close in on him and possibly alter his shot. For what it is, he is a spot up shooter that could possibly turn into a little more.

                                38) PF Leyshawn Hall/ Sophomore/ LSU 6’11” 241
                                Prospect Grade: 77.1/ D+
Current Talent Level: Middle of the Bench
                                Potential Ceiling: Starter
A Quick Look at Leyshawn Hall: When we create prospect grades for these guys, the current talent level and potential ceiling are not the only things that come into play. If that were the case, Hall would be a first rounder. We also have to look at the likelihood that a player will reach that ceiling and injury concerns are part of that equation. At the moment, Hall has a bad situation as he has just had a surgery on his knee and we really don’t know when he will be back on the court. Now, if for some reason, he comes back and becomes the man we predicted him to be before the injury, he could be the steal of the draft. If not, he could be a completely wasted pick.

                                39) SF Dom Previte/ Senior/ Rider 6’8” 225
                                Prospect Grade: 76.9/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Dom Previte: I know a lot of people hate those small school prospects but after averaging 22.1 ppg, it’s no surprise that he is on the list to get drafted in this class. Previte was a big time scorer ever since he put on a Rider jersey and really became the leader of that team, even pushing them past Gonzaga in the first round this year. Previte is a smooth that has really mastered the art of hitting that moving mid range jumper. Unfortunately, he isn’t going to get nearly as many opportunities in the league and he isn’t quite skilled enough in other areas to get anything other than garbage minutes at the moment.

                                40) PG Joseph Saum/ Senior/ Notre Dame 6’3” 180
                                Prospect Grade: 76.6/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Joseph Saum: Not very often that you see a guy that lost his starting spot as a prospect to get drafted but the young man that took his spot (Sophomore PG Jaleel Porter) is something special that will almost definitely be a lottery pick if not higher. Saum isn’t very fast and gets bullied by more physical guards but Saum is great with making the right decision with the ball and his vision makes it seems as if he has eyes in the back of his head. Unfortunately, I can’t see him progressing to be much higher than a Bottom of the Bench Caliber player but I could be wrong.

                                41) C Javaris Martin/ Sophomore/ Duke 7’0” 259
                                Prospect Grade: 76.4/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Javaris Martin: Javaris Martin saw a dip in his playing time with the arrival of five star freshman center P.J. Curtis but he still contributed on a very stacked Duke Blue Devils team. Although Martin didn’t show a huge jump in skill level, he continued to show that he is a capable rebounder and can hit the mid range jumper. I don’t think he has the potential to be an above average bench warmer. Harsh but that’s just the reality in this weak class.

                                42) C Jovan Petrovici/ 20 Years Old/ Serbia 6’11” 257
                                Prospect Grade: 76.1/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jovan Petrovici: I saw Jovan play a few games on tape and I think he is solid enough defensively to make a team but won’t see much playing time unless there are injuries. He is a confident and consistent defender but he doesn’t stand out anywhere else in the game. He needs to get stronger, learn how to be more physical and develop a jump shot and then he may become a more capable player worthy of NBA minutes.

                                43) PG John Paraison/ Senior/ Arkansas 6’3” 193
                                Prospect Grade: 75.9/ D+
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at John Paraison: Paraison is a smart player with an extremely high basketball IQ that I think will be a coach one day. I think that Paraison’s ability on the court is lacking when compared to most of the other guards that will be taken before him but there’s something about a guy with a high Bball IQ. They’ll make plays that the other guys just wouldn’t think to make and that counts for something. In terms of skill he is average at best so I can’t see him really making an impact in the league.

                                44) SF Armand Douglas/ Senior/ Eastern Washington 6’8” 208
                                Prospect Grade: 75.9/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Armand Douglas: I don’t know if “excitement” is a reason to draft a player but if it is, put this guy near the top of your list. The Eastern Washington senior is a high flying forward that can really get above the rim and get the crowd out of their seat. Unfortunately, he didn’t show a bunch of improvement as a basketball player as he seemed to always focus on making the highlight play as opposed to the smart play. He also lacks muscle and strength so he strays away from physical ball. We might see him in a dunk contest but he’s got some work to do overall as a player.

                                45) SG Jason Nagel/ Junior/ VCU 6’5” 207
                                Prospect Grade: 75.8/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jason Nagel: Jason Nagel is no stranger to the die hard NCAA bball fans. He finished seventh in the league in scoring and had a 44 and 46 point game this season. He probably would have finished much higher than 22.8 ppg this season if he hadn’t be pulled through midway through some blowouts later in the season. Nagel has got some serious range and he is the definition of a catch and shoot type of guy. Nagel could be a steal if that’s what you’re looking for but he is below average as an overall defender and creating for himself so I can’t see him going much higher than here.

                                46) C Isaiah Orekoya/ Freshman/ North Carolina 7’1” 239
                                Prospect Grade: 75.6/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Isaiah Orekoya: This is a guy that probably would have been a lottery pick if players were still able to declare right out of high school. After going to UNC as the 11th ranked high school prospect, he showed that a ton of athleticism doesn’t mean you are a very good basketball player. Orekoya struggled tremendously and after a few months, Daniel Emerson became the go to big man at UNC and Orekoya would just provide a highlight block or alley oop every now and then. I just don’t think Orekoya will ever be the star he thought he would be but he could be a “middle of the bench” type player in best case scenario.

                                47) SF Jacoby Pickett/ Senior/ Michigan State 6’8” 224
                                Prospect Grade: 75.6/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jacoby Pickett: Pickett was the senior leader on a very talented Spartan team with no real high caliber NBA prospects, but prospects none the less. Pickett has continued to showcase his ability to shoot the three especially off balance and in positions where most coaches would be ready to scream. Pickett has proven to be a bit of a lazy defender and doesn’t protect the ball well which is why he needs someone else to create for him. He’s going to have a tough transition to the league but anything is possible.

                                48) SF Jorge Lorenzo/ 20 Years Old/ Spain 6’8” 215
                                Prospect Grade: 75.4/ D
Current Talent Level: Bottom of the Bench
Potential Ceiling: Middle of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jorge Lorenzo: Jorge Lorenzo is actually a better prospect than his ranking shows here. There are two reasons that he is this low… for starters, he has been a bit sketchy about his passion for basketball and has stated in the past that he would prefer to spend his 20s traveling around the world. Secondly, he has been on and off the court with an undisclosed injury so he’s just a bit of a mystery overall. As far as his skill on the court, he’s a pretty unique player with the ability to pass like a point guard and pretty impressive speed. Even if he doesn’t amount to much, it’s worth taking a chance on him this late.

                                49) SG Liam Owens/ Senior/ Iowa 6’6” 208
                                Prospect Grade: 75.3/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Liam Owens: Liam Owens is best known by Iowa fans as sophomore defensive star Hampton Boulware’s “spiritual mentor”. Boulware has stated that Liam has helped him find himself spiritually and it has helped him on the court. Speaking of on the court, Liam Owens is a very good spot up shooter with good size. He’s a bit of a one trick pony so if you put him in one of your team’s jerseys, that better be what you send him out there to do.

                                50) SG Sharif Horn/ Freshman/ Michigan 6’5” 194
                                Prospect Grade: 74.9/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Sharif Horn: Some prospects are just not as good as we thought they were. When he was labeled as a five star prospect, it was because he was outrunning the competition up and down the court. The former track star wasn’t bad at Michigan but he just doesn’t seem to know what to do with that speed or really have the skill set to maximize his potential. Even with that being said, I don’t really think his potential is nearly as high as we thought it was when he was coming out of high school.

                                51) SG Jeffrey Coates/ Junior/ Colorado 6’6” 200
                                Prospect Grade: 74.9/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Jeffrey Coates: Jeffrey Coates was really able to put up some impressive numbers at Colorado but what stood out the most is that when Coates primary path to scoring was focused on by smart coaches, he sort of disappeared. Coates will be a slasher in the NBA but he will really need to develop a jump shot in order to be on an NBA roster for long.

                                52) SF Casey Chastang/ Sophomore/ Villanova 6’8” 221
                                Prospect Grade: 74.7/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the League
A Quick Look at Casey Chastang: Casey Chastang could have been a bigger deal than what he already was at Villanova. After an extremely impressive freshman campaign, Casey had to have shoulder surgery in the off season. Casey came back and just didn’t really look like himself. Not only did it look like he lost a step just from not being on the court and in the gym but his shot wasn’t falling with the consistency that it once was. He is still a clever scorer that can hit from all over the court in many different positions but he just doesn’t have the ball handling ability or the athleticism to get those shots in the league so I’m not sure how long he will be able to hand around the league.

                                53) PF Daniel Emerson/ Junior/ North Carolina 6’10” 235
                                Prospect Grade: 74.5/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Daniel Emerson: I mentioned earlier that Emerson became the go to big man at UNC after Orekoya showed a lack of consistency and lack of ability to score down low. Even though Emerson was the go to guy doesn’t mean that offense is his strength. Truth be told, he looked uncomfortable down there most of the time. Where he is very comfortable though, is making passes out of the post as he always seems to make the right pass. It’s no wonder that he lead all centers and PFs in the ACC in assists. Outside of that he’s also a decent post defender but he definitely needs to get stronger if he wants to play with the big boys.

                                54) C Bakhari Ngobidi/ Freshman/ Oregon State 7’0” 248
                                Prospect Grade: 74.5/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Bakhari Ngobidi: Bakhari Ngobidi is a guy that knows what he can do well and he focused on that all year. In a sense that’s a good thing because you won’t catch Ngobidi trying to drive to the lane and hit a reverse lay up or shoot a fadeaway three… he’s going to rebound and protect the rim. He finished 18th in the nation in blocks (2.53 bpg) and 14th in the nation in rebounds (10.3 rpg) but literally improved in no other parts of his game and honestly didn’t even show much of an interest. He isn’t very versatile if he has a very “teachable” personality. I guess we will have to wait and see.

                                55) PF Dominic Mitchell/ Senior/ Memphis 6’9” 250
                                Prospect Grade: 74.4/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Dominic Mitchell: Dominic Mitchell is a fan favorite over there at Memphis. He started off struggling to get minutes off of the bench and by his junior year, he was the starter and one of the go to guys there. Mitchell isn’t impressive in the finesse department but he is an impressive finisher when he gets position near the basket and he is one of the more consistent offensive rebounders you’re going to get in the second round.

                                56) SF Payton Rodgers/ Junior/ UC Irvine 6’7” 214
                                Prospect Grade: 74.4/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Payton Rodgers: Payton Rodgers has been in the top ten of scoring in the nation for the past couple of years but a lot of people still don’t know who he is. Rodgers averaged 23.7 points and led UC Irvine to the tourney for the past two years. Rodgers had two things going for him in his college career… his quickness getting to the basket and the talent level that he generally faced on a nightly basis. I think his struggles against higher level competition in the tournament the last two years did him no favors and made him look like an average player at best.

                                57) PF Avery Aka/ Junior/ Green Bay 6’9” 261
                                Prospect Grade: 74.1/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Avery Aka: Avery Aka is really just a classic case of a guy that works harder than everybody else. Aka came in to his sophomore season as a literal nobody to professional scouts. Whe he finally got his time to shine as the go to guy for Green Bay, he proved to be a guy that outworks many players on both ends of the court. To be totally honest, he probably won’t make a real impact if any at all on the League but if you like a guy that has the fundamentals down and will work hard as hell, give him a shot.

                                58) SF John Harris/ Sophomore/ Seton Hall 6’8” 226
                                Prospect Grade: 74.0/ D
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at John Harris: John Harris struggled during his freshman year but he really seemed to benefit this year from the addition of the impressive freshman Ish Prewitt. John Harris is most comfortable with the ball in his hand and can make things happen as he finished in the top 30 in the nation in assists (5.8 apg). Harris isn’t talented enough to warrant putting the ball in his hands for large portions of the game but when he does have it, he’s an above average player.

                                59) C Juraj Mikalja/ 21 Years Old/ Croatia 7’0” 254
                                Prospect Grade: 73.9/ D-
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Juraj Mikalja: These late round foreigners are usually shots in the dark and this one is no different. Mikalja was a young player with high hopes that quickly diminished as he got older. He continues to struggle on the offensive end and his jumper has actually gotten worse over the years. He has shown to be a pretty good defender especially on the pick and roll. It’s worth taking a shot in the dark this late in the draft. Why not?

                                60) PG Chris Van Sickle/ Junior/ San Jose State 6’3” 217
                                Prospect Grade: 73.9/ D-
                                Current Talent Level: G-League
Potential Ceiling: Bottom of the Bench
A Quick Look at Chris Van Sickle: Chris Van Sickle is an “old school” point guard if I’ve ever seen one. The kid has a bit of a weird build to him but he is solid and he knows how to use his body. You ever play an older guy that knows he isn’t as athletic as you but they stick that butt out and bully you down low until they get to the basket for an easy lay in… that’s this guy. He can play the post, he is a very good help defender but he leaves a ton to be desired on the offensive end.

TOP STORYLINES GOING INTO YEAR 3
                                - You know what generally happens after a weak class…. A strong wave is coming. There are a ton of players (incoming freshmen, upperclassmen and foreigners that have a chance to be one of the top picks next year. Who will emerge as the top guys.

                                - How good are the top three incoming freshmen (PF Kurtis Holden Jr., SF Kyzir White and C Jihad Bagley)
                                - With Ohio State bringing back four star recruit Wade Parker for his sophomore year and adding the number 1 (F Kurtis Holden) number 15 (G Ezekial Braxton), number 17 (F Saquan Wiggins) and number 65 (C Thomas Angeline) are they the team to beat next year
                                - Can Iowa center Hamton Boulware win defensive player of the year for a second year in a row.

                                - How will the Kansas State G Xavier Fields end his career and can he keep his stock high enough to be a top five pick in next year’s draft.

                                - If Jihad Bagley is as good as advertised, can Miami run the table in the ACC. With PotY candidate Rico Vazquez and 1st round prospect Jesus Cuba coming back, anything less than the Final Four would be a disappointment right?
                                - Will UCLA freshman C Brandon Porter (last year’s #15 ranked incoming freshman) be back full strength for his sophomore year after his broken leg early in the season.
                                -
                                - How will last year’s number one ranked incoming freshmen Terez Downing respond to the injury concerns. He finished top 20 in the nation in blocks and rebounds for Oregon as a freshman but still had a relatively “quiet” season for a #1 ranked player.

                                - As always, there is a lot of talk about overseas talent that will be eligible for the next draft. Next year, keep your eye on PF Ramon Garcia out of Spain, SF Nikos Karvelas out of Greece and SG Vinnie Falcone out of Italy. All three of them are potential lottery picks and depending on how things go for them next year, they could be top five picks.

Of the returning players, who do you have being the favorite to take home player of the year honors?

Kansas State Junior PG Xavier Fields averaged 16.1 ppg and 7.8 apg
Iowa Sophomore C Hamton Boulware averaged 15.2 ppg, 10.0 rpg and 3.3 bpg
Miami Junior SG Rico Vazquez averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rpg and 2.7 apg
BYU Freshman SG Dawson Bledsoe averaged 19.5 ppg and 5.2 rpg
Duke Junior SF Travis High averaged 18.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.9 apg
Minnesota Freshman PF Romeo Nelson averaged 19.8 ppg, 5.9 rpg
Michigan Freshman C Armanti Elliot averaged 16.6 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.1 apg

                                - The number one question every year is always “Who is going to be the number 1 pick”? I know it’s super early but there are a chunk of guys that I think have a legitimate chance for that….
PF Kurtis Holden/ Ohio State/ Freshman
                                F Ramon Garcia/ Spain/ 19 Years Old
PG Xavier Fields/ Kansas State/ Senior
                                C Jihad Bagley/ Miami/ Freshman
                                SF Kyzir White/ Oklahoma/ Freshman
                                SG Hakeem Jennings/ Syracuse/ Sophomore
