Another potential workaround might be what you need to do with the Era draft classes. That is when you are prompted at the start of the season to generate or load a draft class you just pick use default and it applies the randomness to the class. Then you straight away go into “prospect scouting” and select a player and it gives you the option to load a draft class again. I think maybe when you do it that way and load it a second time it corrects? I know it does for Eras draft classes (I.e. 1980s, 1990s, etc draft classes).

Re: Jeffruel's 2k23 Fictional Draft Classes
I believe that it is different - storylines can completely change a player’s height or weight, or even make them excel at something they aren’t known for. For example, you can get weird archetypes like a mid-range scoring Dwight or a 3-Point oriented LeBron with storylines on. This can be seen when looking over a fully or partially scouted player, where it’ll show the archetypes (interior defender, athletic, mid-range scorer, etc).
The ”storyline off” system is a little more restrained and may shuffle around the order a of a player’s archetypes, but they almost always stay the same. Even if a new archetype pops up, it’s something that player was already good at.
Additionally, every single stat seems to get randomized to some extent. The storylines don’t always get applied to everyone and they don’t always change every single stat. This all leads me to believe the randomization was an intended, regrettable design choice.
Anyone who wants to explore this further, you can constantly load and reload draft classes with storylines on and off. You’ll consistently see greater, goofier variation with storylines turned on.Comment

Re: Jeffruel's 2k23 Fictional Draft Classes
Here is the scouting report for DC-1. The class is finished and is currently being uploaded to the server. Its been "checking you player for foul language" for about 5 minutes now. Not sure if this is an issue, or if it'll be uploaded shortly.

And shoutout to JoshNormanMane for the draft stories in the scouting report. He did a great job there and adds even more to the scouting.Last edited by Jeffruel; 10-07-2022, 09:08 PM.Comment

Re: Jeffruel's 2k23 Fictional Draft Classes
I had the same issue a few times; the first time I was working on my first class and wasn't connected to the internet at the time and it was stuck "checking for foul language" for about 30 minutes until I finally gave up..had to go back and re-edit a bunch of names while connected to the internet to finally get it to work.

I forgot to mention it. Iowa knocked off 3 seed OSU round two.Comment

Re: Jeffruel's 2k23 Fictional Draft Classes
Yikes. I’ll help out and start at the bottom (worst prospect) of your projected draft order typing names in to create a player.
Edit: not any of the 2nd rounders…
Edit: I’ve typed every name in and, while some get checked by the filter for offensive language, none of them come up offensive. Only thing I can fathom is maybe there are too many names the game doesn’t “recognize” so it is throwing a fit at you.Comment

Just messaged you back but just to give everyone an update, I believe it’s someone in round 1. I’ll be checking it later tonight and I’m gonna make sure it gets uploaded tonight. Sorry guys.Comment

Re: Jeffruel's 2k23 Fictional Draft Classes
I’ve now noticed the issue with the storylines affecting draft classes. It seems that it doesn’t really change the boom/bust numbers but attributes do fluctuate. Have you found a solution jeffruel? Or has 2K responded on the issue?Comment

Re: Jeffruel's 2k23 Fictional Draft Classes
Alright guys. Finally got the draft class uploaded, but you will have to go edit a lot of the names to match what the scouting report says. Rant below.
SpoilerIn short, this is the WORST 2k has ever been as far as draft classes go. I didnt think it was possible for them to take a step back, but they have. 4 years ago when I started the only major bug was ages would drop by 1. Now it was hard for me to even produce a class because I had to go change 25% of the names (When it didnt even flag them) as well as the bull**** bug where all the attributes randomize when I have carefully picked out every attribute. Truly an awful 2k.Comment

How big of an issue do you think the attributes getting changed will be? I’ve noticed it does it on all draft classes even the historic ones. It’s a real shame.Comment

Re: Jeffruel's 2k23 Fictional Draft Classes
It might be frustrating but still thank you sooooo much for all your effort. You make the game what it is with your draft classes and bring an ability to go multiple years because you get to know all the incoming players through your draft reports.

I wish I knew. I put in a ticket to 2k and they gave their usual response of “please provide pictures” and all of that. I feel like it just has to get patched right? It’s such a major bug towards their shiny new MyERAs toy.Comment
