I passed the ball around a lot (running the pace offense) Tyler Johnson was the main beneficiary because of it. Deng took over the 3rd quarter with 17 points in just that quarter. It was great. Nothing was forced that quarter but because of the great quarter he was having I stopped going with the flow of the game & started calling plays for him in the 4th. That's when my lead started to dwindle down & the reason I barely escaped with a win. This was my first game of the season. I won't be displaying all the games, just the big ones/really good ones outside of this one which was game 1.

    Sliders & Settings:
    Madden 16- Josh's excellent
    Fifa 16- Drunkenferrets very good
    2k16- Schnaidts awesome

2016 named sports games are the best in 1 year for me in a very long time. First time in long time I will go multi years into franchise mode in all 3 titles.

Im having great games and enjoying this set also. Rotations are spot on.

But I just can't seem to win. Been having 1~5 pt losses for the last 5 games, lol. Last one I lost at home (using Blazers) to Orlando Magic.

I feel like the defensive settings are killing me. I just don't know how to set them properly. Like, when to go under or over, when to hard hedge or iso, wich post defensive settings I use for different bigs and so on.

that is tough...I have realized its more something you set and change as the game progresses depending on how the cpu counterpart is playing and attacking as well as how well your team is playing defense.

I usually go over on the screens, soft hedge or no hedge at all, & 3/4 bottom or 3/4 top for the bigs. 3/4 top helps me stop the passes thrown to the inside. Just my 2 cents. I've been winning a nice amount of games. You have to change the settings accordingly throughout the game as well if your getting killed by having a setting a certain way.

Yeah, thanks for the inputs. I'm already following Sam Phan, and it's from I've been getting the kind of stuff I use.

But since I'm "new" to basketball (started following since 2010 or so) it's hard to understand which is which.

For instance, I don't have a clue of what "3/4 bottom" or "3/4 top" means. The hedge settings I have at least understood that is the amount of help that my other players are going to offer on drives. So I'm going with soft hedge for regular driving threats and hard hedge for players like Kd, harden, Irving...

The screens also are an issue. Who do I go under? Non shooters? So I can defend his drive?
And then I go over on shooters to put pressure on their 3pt?
And what does the ice setting means?

Sorry for going totally off topic, BTW.

In 3/4 your defender is to the side. 3/4 top is on the outside preventing post entry passes. Bottom is on the inside giving good position for help defense and boxing out. Per Sam Pham's suggestion in one of his videos I do 3/4 top on wings and bottom on post players.
Yes, you want to go over screens on great shooters. Under on everyone else. On those shooters you want to play tight so you can contest jumpers. Guys who drive more you can back off to stop penetration. Moderate is good for that but pay close attention as you may have to tighten up if they start knocking down jump shots.
I wouldn't do hard hedge. The defender is too aggressive and gets out of position. Soft hedge is plenty of help. Or even no hedge. I'll often run no hedge and switch to the hedger as soon as the screen comes to manually defend by just stepping out a bit to discourage the drive.
Where exactly are you struggling? getting beat on ball with drives? Is your help d getting screwed up and giving up open jumpers?

your starters look good. minutes and lineup are solid.

your bench doesnt look that bad either. nothing that stands out to me needing to be addressed.

if it were me however, i wouldnt play c.j. watson. he is old...no reason to give him tick over your younger players (in my opinion)

your rotation is perfectly fine, just me personally, i would take out c.j. watson and add his minutes to jason smith...and here is why,....

you never see guard players in foul trouble, its always bigs...he is really the only other player on your team you would want playing center, he also plays nice next to vucevic at the pf. giving him 30 minutes between the 4 and 5 will also all a. gordon to move up and play the 3 for a little bit. which creates even bigger mismatches for you.

Tried these out last night for the first time & as others have stated , the gameplay is amazing but I'm really having problems w/not being able to dunk. Because of it I'm getting layups & flip shots that are getting swatted w/a quickness.

Also to clarify w/the rotations, I plan to do a MyGM so could I still setup rotations for the CPU & they'll stick or do I only need to set my team's rotation?

You'll need to control all teams for rotations to stick. Once the CPU is in control, they'll do whatever they want

Hard hedge definitely will cause bad rotations because the hedger goes too far to be able to recover. Pay attention to the help defense i.q. of your players who are guarding the other teams best shooters. If their help defense i.q. is below 75 they're likely to give improper or unneeded help leaving guys open. You use the deny off ball setting to manage this. Help defense i.q. below 75 on shooter = deny. Help defense i.q. above 75 on shooter = tight. Sam Pham has a video illustrating all this. It absolutely works and helps a lot.
If you choose deny you need to be sure that player has good quickness and speed because the cpu will definitely try to back door you if you stay in deny. If your player is quick enough you're fine. If not you'll need to manually rotate to your C or PF to contest the drive. For me, i'm willing to give up the possibility of a back door to ensure that deadeye shooters aren't left open for threes. It's definitely give and take though.
