Re: 2nd half shenanigans by cpu

I normally play on allstar but the past few months Ive been playing on superstar.

It's ridiculous how the CPU cheats especially when they are making a run:
My hand goes through the ball on blocks and it still goes in.
The CPU gets every loose ball or should I say morphed into their hands.
The will double dribble, travel, and no whistle.
Foot planting physics go out the window.
They'll slide in position and recover on every jump after a pump fake.
    True bout my business, Mane!

Are these "2nd half shenanigans" still happening in 2k20? I hope it's fixed

Unfortunately they are happening IMO.. cpu keeps shooting near 60% and playing handcuff defense all too often on all star

Dropping offense and defense consistency to 45 helped a bit.. i still need more games in to see

I noticed in 2K20 that this happens to me as well. But only if i try to adjust the sliders to custom. Or if i have team chemistry on.

I found that using default all star or superstar works the best for me. But they really need a patch for the sliders or something... It’s getting ridiculous and very frustrating.

Hey 2K... why don’t you Forget about MyPlayer and focus on the other modes for once? and fix this BS?

If only EA Sports had the good animations and player movement that NBA 2K has.. I would definitely switch to NBA Live. Sigh..

One game in with Kings, I had success in the second half after falling behind in the 1st half. Is that usual for people as well? I did make many of my defensive adjustments at half.

On 2K19, I had those experiences where I was the one in heavy favor of winning in the second half and actually did...worked both ways in my experiences. I will chime in and report what I see when I buy 2K20 along with everyone. These reports from everyone whether good or bad will definitely help when deciding on slider sets for the community...

Yes, it happens. The game "adjusts" to your 1st half strategy.

                For example:
Your offense: If you ran a perimeter heavy offensive scheme in the 1st, then the CPU is going to come out and try to clamp down your jump shots. You will need to attack the rim a lot to get them to back up. And vice versa. If you have a favorite offensive scheme, you'll definitely need to switch it up in the 2nd half.

Your defense: Depending on what you did in the 1st half, the game will adjust a little. They find a lot of success attacking, in my experience, in the 2nd half and then kicking the ball out for shots.

It doesn't feel as cheesy as it did previously. If you play a bit differently in the 2nd half you should have zero issues. But I have seen the best players in the league start being the best players in the league in the 2nd half. Played a game against the Nets last night, and he put up 20 points in the 2nd half on me. I could stop his perimeter shots and his drives to the basket, but he ate me up from mid-range.

Ok so a year later, I’m the original poster by the way and I’m 50/50 on this years edition so far. When I first played it, I was pleased because the game seemed to be more fair. Not favoring the cpu overwhelmingly. Couple weeks later however I’m starting to get that same vibe again with these crazy runs the cpu gets itself on. But gladly it’s isn’t anything like 2k19. I’ll work with it and take pointers and ideas from others here in the forum. I think sometimes when I’m getting blown out silly by the cpu I have to take into account who I’m playing. If it’s LA, GS, BKN, then I’m good with it

Hey what difficulty are you playing on this year?

2K21 was released and they still didn't fix this. In some quarter, either me or the CPU shoots lights out and the game becomes too easy or too hard. Really frustrating since the game is very good, but this is a deal breaker...
