You're correct about the money aspect. Sports Sims are good the way of Call of Duty games. For example COD 4 is one of my all time fav games. I loved it for single player campaign. That's been an afterthought for years now and I haven't played a COD in years. I hate seeing it happen to my favorite sports games. Non of the major sports titles seem to be able to focus are a great sim game and online game at the same time. An easy fix would be to somehow have online and offline gameplay completely seperate with their own updates. One not affecting the other.
I get the competitive aspect. I got a friend whom I'd love to do an online MyLeague with. Problem is last year the mode was basically unplayable, and this year it's a combination of waiting for sliders and the mode still not having all the features of offline. A big issue being if it's just a couple people in the league the admin can't control the CPU teams when it comes to trades etc.
It'll definitely take a group effort for 2K listen, I'm just not sure there's enough of us left to catch their ear.
