Bumping this post because I love it. Pity no matter what sliders I use, the CPU shoot 15-20 3 pointers per game, and average around 60-70 PIP per. Just ridiculous.

Thanks for all the love in this thread. I dipped for a bit and missed a bunch of everyone’s questions, sorry about that.

I’ll try to keep this more active and check in more moving forward.

Updated some stats from last year. Ranges are basically the same! Not much has changed, so these are still very relevant.

Finally picked up the game myself!

Started working on some 2k23 sliders... coming along pretty nicely. Getting BLOWN OUT, but not feeling cheesed. Making me work to get buckets and be strategic.

My main concern for the past NBA 2K games was that Points in the Paint would be too high for the CPU no matter how I adjusted the sliders especially Tendencies. This year, NBA 2K25, the issue seem to magically disappear right out of the box which has been fantastic. I am however trying to see the CPU take more pull up mid-range shots so I’ve increased the CPU Mid-Range Tendency up, so far results have been mixed. I’m thinking it’s more of a Roster Tendency issue rather than a gameplay sliders tweaking.

Yeah probably a mix. I would increase drive/attack basket, increase mid range shot tendencies, and lower close and inside range tendencies. Ideally that should create more pull-up mid range shots. At least that worked for me in past versions.

It often takes more than just the slider tendencies, but adjustments to the actual roster tendencies to really dial in the behavior you are looking for. In myLeague rosters, I slightly lower close and under the basket for everyone and increase midrange to get better balance I like as a child of the 80's NBA.

I always use the modern Era but picking an earlier Era might do the same thing with adjusted roster tendencies. I just haven't really experimented with that.
