Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
Because whenever you make a choice between two options (in this case having to press start and not having to press start) and you pick the least intelligent one, you have embraced mediocrity.
It is obviously more intelligent to have the menus load on their own, because 100% of people who launch the game want to play it. It is irrational to think that there exists a certain segment of the 2k7 playing population who would prefer the menus not load at all, and that they need to be protected by this "start safeguard."
Whoever you are that made this choice, I know you think you're being noble in protecting those who may not want the menus to load, but those people don't exist you f'ing moron!Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
It's call an attract mode. It's a practice that can be traced back to arcade machines. The game loads up and if nothing happens during a certain amount of time the game attempts to 'attract' you. In 2k7's case this would be the demo mode.Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
Also, he says 100% people that put in the game are going to play that game...
Not me, not always. I might put in 2k7, sit there for awhile and say "Eh, I Don't feel like playing basketball..." and put in baseball or something...
Any ways...How hard is it to wait? I see if they forced you to watch some stupid intro...like how Team Ninja(Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden) does their games that is a bit annoying. They force you to sit through some stupid strom crap everytime you put in the game...Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
I don't think I've ever heard of something this bitchy.
Not to be a douche, but why put in more work just to get rid of something that most people don't even notice.Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
I agree with the thread starter. Why press start if I put the game in? There's not much I can do other than to sit there and watch a demo. I always thought that ish was a waste of time.
It takes like 2 minutes to load the rosters, online-offline settings, and to get to the two teams. Please simplify that.Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
Where did you get the idea that games begin with this annoyance and it takes work for the programmers to "remove" it, as if they didn't put it there in the first place?Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
Say if I turn the game on; and go to the bathroom. I want the game READY to go ONCE I come back from the bathroom.
But with 2K when I come back FROM the bathroom THEN I have to press WHATEVER to load WHATEVER THEN I am ready to go.
I understand and agree with LeBronzeConcrete evidence/videos pleaseComment
