I guess I willl share my major move....

    MAJOR moves to my Sixers:

Traded Willie Green, Samuel Dalembert to the BULLS

    For

    Kirk Hinrich and Joakim Noah.

Doing this, I had to move Ander Miller the next day.....He was involved in a 3 team deal including Memphis and Denver....

    Sixers get:
    - Hakim Warrick (from Mem)
    - Linas Kleiza (from Den)

    Denver gets:
    - Andre Miller (from PHI)
    - Donyell Marshall (from PHI)
    - 1st rd draft pick 2009 (from PHI)

    Memphis gets:
    -Nene (from Den)

So far I am 1-4 after this deal (10-14 overall). I have to get my team chemistry up because it took a significant drop to 27% since i made the deal . Warrick is the one who could be a problem since he does not like coming off the bench for me.

This gives me a deep squad, but chemistry is definitely an issue right now. Hinrich is not that far of a drop off defensively from Andre Miller. Although Hinrich's contract is pretty hefty, i can see myself sticking with him over the years more than Andre or Dalembert. Plus, he gives us that outside threat that we have been missing. Kleiza is a really nice pick up for me as well.

I can't seem to get Warrick involved and he does seem a ittle out of place on this team (this could be a problem)...plus he is getting more upset about playing time with each passing night.
Yea...I'm a little curious to see how my Blockbuster deal will pan out. I felt that I've addressed my perimeter game adding that BIG name that I did, and now I have a very formiddable 'Big 3'....

Perhaps top 5 in the league??

I am counting on Theo Ratliff, maybe more than I should, but my only knock on the guy has been low-stamina. When he is on the floor for me he is producing in his role very efficiently; that role being rebounding and to be a defensive presence in the paint.

He does those two things greatly...And I believe I shored up the Center position best I could w/ what I got from Memphis. Ratliff is a FA at the end of the year too so I can re-up on a Center who fits my needs via MLE.

My biggest 'pain' in the blockbuster deal I made was sending my 2009 1st rounder, and Mareese Speights. Speights is a monster, and young and will be a force - at least in my association.

I like adding Hinrich, Noah, and Klieza. Warrick though doesn't seem to be needed w/ Reggie Evans and Speights being there still.

What about Louis Williams though? What is his role on your squad, 6th man?

Post your starting 5 and rotations because I'm curious to see what you're working with. You've obvisouly got more depth on the frontcourt than my 76ers squad.

      Starting 5:

      PG - Kirk Hinrich
      SG - Iggy
      SF - Thad
      PF - Brand
C - Noah (after the trade, i did start Speights, but Noah was a shot blocking and rebounding machine and worked his way in the starting lineup the last 2 games).

      Bench

      - Lou Williams - Still the top scorer off the bench. We like his energy and instant offense. I couldn't put him in the starting lineup because opposing guards were lighting him up...he can't play D worth a lick....he subs in as my back up PG or SG. I have my own version of Vinny "the Microwave" Johnson with Lou.....or atleast thats how I treat him.

-Hakim Warrick - He hates his role coming off the bench. But honestly he's too small to start at PF and can't shoot good enough to play SF on my team. I need someone who can shoot at that SF spot. It's too bad he doesn't like being in his hometown....well, i'm sure he would love it if he were starting, but i just don't see it now. He is in the final year of his contract tho...we will see if he still wants to be a part of this team when the season's over.

-Linas Kleiza - I love this guys signature shot! It's soo smooth. I didn't play him much the 1st two games, but had to in my 3rd because of foul trouble. He has been a pleasant surprise. He is a perfect back up for Thad at the 3 spot

      - Mareese Speights - You are correct....he is a monster inside. One of the reasons I didn't hesitate to trade Daly was the progression of Speights. He doesn't do too much for me defensively tho. He's young and has time, so I am in no hurry to start this kid. He is estatic to have his former Gator teamate, Joakim Noah, on the team with him!

Kareem Rush - He probably suffers the most because of the trade. He used to see plenty of minutes, but his role has been reduced. Will still need him when we are in need of some 3's. He is still a vitale part of my 3-pt lineup (Hinrich, Iggy, Rush, Thad, Kleiza).

Theo Ratliff - only used if I have people in foul trouble..

Wow, typing all this made me all of the sudden want to get back into this and get a winning streak going. We are 10-14 and last in our division...a game behind the Nets who are 9-14. My CH 2k8 legacy may have to wait a little longer. Jeez, i wish i had more time to play more games. Being an adult sucks sometimes.

Just beat the living **** out of the Bobcats, 115-81.

However, a couple of interesting things happened...

Jason Richardson is an animal. He ended up going for 33, but scored 23 of his teams 25 in the first quarter! I didn't have an answer for him... so I doubled him the rest of the game.

O.J. Mayo... my freaking superstar... went down with a separated shoulder and will be out two weeks. So, I sent Quinton Ross and a 2nd rounder to Minny for Rashad McCants to fill the void.

I had Andre Miller and Thaddeus Young out at the same time w/ the same injury...Seems to be a popular one in this game, and is usually an 'OUT 1-2 weeks' injury.

              Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

Well...since not many have gone to my blog and commented on my blockbust deal I figured I'd copy and paste the deal here from my blog.

So what you all think of the deal...If you care to read my 3rd person analysis & grades I gave each team you can still go to my blog to read up on that.

Here's the deal I made, and the last deal for me in my association for the 2008-09 season.

              From my blog...

              http://www.osatwork.com/JBH3/blog/52...ding-a-winner/

NBA.COM has reported a blockbuster deal involving 3 teams.

The deals will be finalized pending physicals.

The trade breaks down like this:

              PHI
              Vince Carter (From NJ)
              Darko Milicic (From MEM)
              Jarvaris Crittenton (From MEM)
              2nd Rd Pick (From NJ)

              NJ
              Samuel Dalembert (From PHI)
              Mareese Speights (From PHI)
2009 1st Rd Pick (From PHI)

              MEM
              Andre Miller (PHI)
              Josh Boone (NJ)

Its important that you know that the Nets are 17-31, 14.5 gms back in the Atlantic, 2nd worst record in the league, and on a 12 gm losing streak.

NETS - If trading Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson didn't signal 'Re-Build' then this move clearly does. W/ NJ's season pretty much over before the deadline moving Vince Carter, and his huge contract for a team going no where was a MUST for them. They got in return a serviceable center to take pressure off of Brook Lopez so that he can blossom, and they get a potential perennial all-star in Mareese Speights (B+ Potential, already an 80 overall). In addition, if Carter isn't gone then NJ doesn't have enough cap room to re-sign Devin Harris who is imperative in their rebuilding process. Also, CDR and Maurice Ager are young guys w/ potential who come much cheaper than VC.

MEMPHIS - 23-24 and currently fighting for a 7th or 8th seed in the West. Andre Miller adds a veteran savvy PG to a young team who can make a little noise. They move a horrible contract w/ Darko, and get an equal player in value for cheaper w/ still some upside (Josh Boone). Miller is in the final yr of a $10mil contract so if Memphis fails to make the playoffs they still have Conley and Lowry, and now have enough cap room to go after Carlos Boozer, Al Jefferson, Allen Iverson, or pretty much any big name FA who hits the open market.

PHILLY - I get a much needed perimeter/game changing scorer. I cut my losses by losing Miller and Dalembert by adding Darko and Crittenton. Carter gives me a 'BIG 3' good enough to compete w/ the elite BIG 3's in the league. He comes though w/ a HUGE contract w/ 3 yrs on it, and @ 32 yrs of age so he could start to decline quickly - Thats the risk I take getting him, that and trading away my only low-post option coming off the bench in Speights.

The major deciding factor though was that I feel I can win a championship now, and adding VC puts me in prime position to accomplish that and addresses a huge void the 76ers have - perimeter shooting. Andre Miller wasn't going to be resigned, and I wasn't going to get much cap room keeping him since my big contracts eat up my 2009-10 cap room. Dalembert was a presence in the paint defensively, but couldn't be counted on offensively. With that being the case, and his contract being too high for my liking, he was moved to team who could use his services more than me.

                Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

Well, since the Detroit game, I've gone 5-3. I beat the Bulls the next night, and the Bucks a few days later but got bad news after the Bucks game. I lost Deron Williams for two weeks with a seprated shoulder. My first game without D-Will, I beat Dallas 124-99. No worries, right? Yeah, right. I lost my next two games, dropping one to the Rockets and one to the 76ers. I beat the Lakers and the Warriors before dropping a game to the Hornets. My record now stands at 23-13, good for second in my division and fourth in the conference.

During the Warriors game, I lost Ronnie Price with a bruised sternum. Still without D-Will, I signed Dee Brown off the free agent list so I could have two PGs playing against the Hornets. It didn't last for too long as on a fast break against Chris Paul, Dee Brown strained his achilles and is out 2-4 weeks. I haven't had the best of luck with PGs lately.

Ronnie Brewer has gone insane, scoring 21.2 PPG in his last ten games. He's scored over 30 in three of those games getting a new career high of 34 points against the Warriors.

Since coming over from the Bobcats, Adam Morrison has thrown up a ton of bricks, shooting 19-55. Ugh. I'm hoping he turns it around cause he's supposed to be my main scorer off the bench.

After a slow start to the season, Carlos Boozer is now averging 22.2 PPG and 8.2 RPG. In his last 16 games, he's scored over 30 points eight times and has only been under twenty points twice.

My next game is a home game against Detroit and I finally have D-Will back. Which is great because without him for the last two weeks, it's been harder to win games.

My starting Center is Darko...I received Darko and Crittenton from Memphis for Miller, and Memphis got Josh Boone from NJ.

Darko and Ratliff platoon at center...Darko gets 28 minutes and Ratliff 20 minutes. If a team goes small on me though I have a few options: Move Brand to Center, and play Thad at PF or keep Brand at PF and bring in Reggie Evans at Center.

Its all relative to who is in foul trouble/fatigued, and the games score/qtr.

                        Starting 5:
                        C - Darko Milicic
                        PF - Elton Brand
                        SF - Andre Igoudala
                        SG - Vince Carter
                        PG - Louis Williams

                        Bench:
                        6th Man - Thaddeus Young
                        RP - Theo Ratliff
                        RP - Reggie Evans
                        RP - Mickael Gelabale
                        RP - Chucky Atkins
                        BW - Kareem Rush
                        BW - Jared Reiner

                        I/R:
                        Jarvaris Crittenton
                        Royal Ivey
                        Jason Smith

What do you guys think about the trade...?

Remember...its relative to my association - can't stress that enough for some who think NJ wouldn't move VC.

In my assoc. the Nets are 29th in the league, 17-31, w/ a 12 gm losing streak before this deal was made.

VC had his Philly debut last night at home vs BOS.

There's a write-up about it in my blog...

I'm liking the VC trade for Philly. It gives you another All-Star besides Brand to push you into the playoffs. The 76ers already have enough young talent that they don't really need another lottery pick so not making the playoffs won't do you any good. With VC, Iggy, and Brand you have three players who can score twenty points on any given night and that's always a good thing. Bringing Thad Young off the bench is a great move, cause your bench is really weak.

I also traded for Darko in my association and he's been great. He grabs boards like crazy on both sides of the court for me, much like he's doing for you.

So, overall, I think you made a couple good moves to get Philly in postion for a playoff run.

Thanks for reply/write-up...great minds think alike.

I'm loving this move too for all the same reasons.

And yea...Darko...Absolutely awesome if you don't have to count on him to score.

W/ Brand in the post Darko's role is grab boards, and be a presence in the paint and that suits him very well.

Yea, no problem. I've been meaning to do it for a while, just never had the chance.

So, Deron Williams just got hurt AGAIN in my Jazz association. That's the third time and I just played my forty-first game of the year. This time he has a strained abdomenn and he's out 1-2 weeks. Ugh. He's making my task to get him into the All-Star game extremely hard. Anyway, I'm on a five game winning streak to push my record to 28-13, first place in my division and second in the West, only behind the Rockets who stand at 31-11. My next game is against the T-Wolves, then I play the Rockets, so I'm looking forward to that game.

I think the trade was good for all parties. You gave up a pretty good piece in Dalembert because athletic C's who play defense and are good on offense are few and far between. You really couldn't use Dalembert the way you wanted so you gave another team a good building block while you got a little better in the short term.
