Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
I am now off to a 4-0 start in my second season of my Raptors chise. I play Atlanta next. Also, Jermaine O'Neal of the Celtics tore his MCL and is now out for the season, which makes me even more glad that I traded him.Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
It's been a blast reading everyone's association progress, and I thought I'd share a snapshot of mine too!
Toronto Raptors 2008-2009
Transactions:
#1
Raptors receive: Shannon Brown
Bobcats receive: Hassan Adams
#2
Raptors receive: JR Smith, Renaldo Balkman
Wizards receive: Anthony Parker, Willie Solomon, (Bench Player - forgot name)
Nuggets receive: Deshawn Stevenson, Raptors' 1st round pick
I was five games under .500 after 30 games, and basically made these trades to increase the athleticism on the Raptors. Having JR Smith on the team has been really key - he adds a more consistent shot than Parker, a safe option to finish off fast-breaks, someone who can slash and create their own shot. The past two games I played have been epic...
Raptors @ Suns
This matchup is always a problem for me. I've got a solid team for shooting 3s, but if they're cold, Phoenix makes you pay with their fast break plays. After 3 quarters of play, I was down by 14 points. Amare was difficult to stop in the post, and the double teams ultimately led to Nash dropping 3 pointers on my head like no tomorrow. During the fourth quarter though, Calderon, Bosh and O'Neal made a couple clutch defensive and offensive plays to narrow the gap to two points. Then, after a miss by Shaq, Smith got the ball just outside the three-point line... drains the three to put Toronto up by one! In the next possession, with under 20 seconds left on the clock, Stoudemire scores an easy bucket in the paint. Mitchell decides not to call a time-out, Jose dribbles the ball up the court and throws it to Kapano. He steps back, for the win... rims out. Bosh, refusing to give up, soars for the rebound above Amare and Hill, grabs it down and dunks it with two hands with 3.3 seconds left. Raptors are up one once again. Phoenix calls a time-out, Nash passes it to Stoudemire for the last shot... but Bosh is all over him and can't make the contested shot.
Raptors win 103-102
Bosh - 35 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block, 2 steals
What made that game even more satisfying is the fact that it was my 10th win a row, just in time for some reward points.
Raptors @ Mavericks
The next game was on the road again, but the Raptors were feeling pumped from their tight victory over the Suns. But right from the start, the game was tough. Bosh and O'Neal were having lots of trouble against Dirk and Dampier, both of them swatting away shot after shot. They had their way on the offensive end as well, grabbing offensive boards and scoring over 20 points in the paint before the half (compared to my 6). Offensively, the only player that could get it going was JR Smith. Terry simply couldn't guard his jump shot. Still, the Raptors were down by as many as 19 points through 3 quarters of play.
Just as they did against Phoenix though, the Raptors stepped it up in the 4th quarter. They were led by some clutch three pointers from Smith and strong inside game by Bosh. The Mavs made some bad plays down the stretch and allowed the Raptors to tie the score at 100 (a 3-pointer from Smith with under 2 minutes to play). Nowitzki comes right back and puts Dallas up by 2. In the next play, Bosh ties it up again after a great finish in the low post. Dallas goes to their big man again but gets fouled by Bosh. He makes 1 of 2 free throws. With just under 30 seconds left to go, Smith drives in and dishes it out to O'Neal. Less than three feet away, he goes up for the shot to put Toronto in the lead... but it's no good! Kidd grabs the rebound, who's immediately fouled by O'Neal. Kidd also only makes 1 of 2, and the Mavs are up by 2. Toronto calls a time-out and draws up a play for Smith. He gets the ball on the perimeter and jacks up a three... but it hits the front of the rim. Howard grabs the board and is fouled by Bosh (his 5th!). Somehow though, Howard misses both free throws. Mitchell calls another time-out. The ball is immediately passed to Smith - he drives and pulls up for a jumper just inside the three point line... in. The game is tied with less than 2 seconds left. Kidd misses the three, it's time for OT.
Deflated from the Raptors' comeback, the Mavericks simply did not show up for the overtime period. Calderon and Bosh both made some key plays to lead the Raptors to a 125-122 victory over the Mavericks. It was a total choke on Dallas' part, failing to take advantage of their free throw opportunities in the last minute of the game. This is going to sound ridiculous, but Smith ended up with 64 points that game! I didn't even notice myself scoring that much with him.
After those two games, Bosh is now in the running for MVP (3rd on the list) and Smith is up for MIP (also 3rd on the list). It's great having these two offensive options every night, each one a potential threat to the other team. Next up: Houston.Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
Ugh. I got smashed by the Rockets. Lost 120-100. I went down 10 early and never caught up. Yao dominates the inside and I have nobody to stop T-Mac. Hopefully I don't met these guys in the playoffs, I'll be dead.
I played the Cavs in my next game and it a good news, great news, and extremely bad news bad. The good news, I handled the Cavs easily and no longer fear going up against Lebron games. The great news, Morris Almond and Adam Morrison came off the bench to score a combined 37 points. And the extremely bad news...I lost Andrei Kirilenko. Strained achilles. Out 4-6 weeks. He went up for a lay-up, got hit from behind by Ben Wallace and crumpled to the ground. Just great. So, counting AK, I now have him, D-Will, and Dee Brown all out with injuries and CJ Miles playing through an injury. This game is trying to kill me, I think.
The game wanted me to start Paul Millsap at SF but that would leave me with no back-up for Boozer, so I'm going to keep Millsap as my sixth man and start Adam Morrison. I'm hoping to get D-Will back soon. But, for now, I'll push on while missing two starters.
Taking a quick glance at the awards, I noticed that Carlos Boozer is first in the MVP race, averaging 22.9 PPG and 8.3 RPG. That'd be great if I could get it.Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
Here’s update on my Knicks Assoc (10 min qrts/pro)
Finished 15-14…. Final game of the year, I blew out the Cavs and clinched a playoff spot, the 7th seed at the time but ended up with the 5th spot. Orlando and ATL, who were battling for the 8th seed, both ended up missing the boat…
I played all games in the regular season and it was pretty up and down all the way through. Started off 1-5 and from there I got increasingly more comfortable with the squad. Harrington really took off in the 2nd half of the season once I recognized and took advantage of his game as a slasher and then used that to open up his outside game.
Mobley was a nice piece off the bench but I waived him once he retired. Q-Rich has been streaky all year and I hope he’ll catch fire during the playoffs. I’ve really struggled with Nate Robinson (35% FG & 20% 3PT). I just play too out of control with him in the game, taking really poor shots most of the time. Chandler and Lee have been consistent through the year. Duhon has been solid, unfortunately he just can’t score the way I’d like my PG to.
I’m just hoping to a nice push in the playoffs , add some talent in the draft (have most of the draft class edited) and the see what’s on the FA market then go big from there on out.
NY Stats
Starters
Duhon- 7.3 ppg, 6.8 ast
Q. Richardson- 11.8 ppg, 3.2 ast
W. Chandler- 13.2 ppg, 5.9 rpg (Won Most improved)
Harrington- 20.8 ppg, 6 rpg (3rd in Most improved voting)
Lee- 10.7 ppg, 10.2 rpg (Made All-Star Team)
Bench
N. Robinson- 9.4 ppg, 6.4 ast
T. Thomas- 6.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg
D. Gallinari- 6.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg (Made 1st Team all Rookie)
J. Jefferies- 3 ppg, 3 rpg
A. Roberson- 1.8 ppg
M. Rose- .7 ppg
Curry- 0 ☺
Marbury-0 ☺
J.James-0 ☺

AWARDS

ROY- Kevin Love
6th Man- Rip Hamilton
D-POY – Duncan
Most Improved- Wilson Chandler
Coach of the Year- Doc Rivers
Other Notes
LBJ lead league in scoring at 26.4 ppg followed by Amare
Kobe finished the year at 21.5 ppg his lowest total since 98-99 even though he played and started all games though I do remember he had a groin injury. He wasn’t voted to the ASG or any of the All NBA teams…I’ll be monitoring how he does in the playoffs...
Bout to fire up Game 1 vs RaptorsComment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
I usually give up about 20 games into a season. I've only played all 82 games plus playoffs once before and that was back on NBA 2K6. This years game is just so nice to play, I can't put it down.Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
Why restart all the time? You can recreate any trades that happen yourself. As for the ratings, that's just impossible to try and keep up with that, so why try? You will never get any continuity with your association. I am trying to play all 82 games and really take this slow instead of caving into the urge of jumping into the offseason.Comment

Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS
Well im in my second season now, after i won the championship with the bulls with rose and aldrige as my stars. I trade 1 round pick (8 overall from blazers) and sefolosha for webster (a 5 year deal and the first is in 7 mill) and donte green. Sacramento receives the first round pick and batum and the blazers receives sefolosha and thompson. Sacramento have the 3 and 8 pick with this trade.
Well im 3 0 in the season win against Pacers 104 102 (very dificult all the time down on the score) Bobcats 95 77 (my defence starts to work in the second half becuse first quarter finish 20 26 for the bobcats) and the last against the monster Detroit (they sign Granger and Andre Miller, and resign Iverson and Wallace). They start with Miller Iverson Granger Johnson Wallace with Hamilton and Prince in the bench. But i dont know why but detroit dont do Jumpshots (very few) and Iverson have 0 points in first half. I win 89 77 With Rose, Green and Aldrige with 19 points. Green is playing very well and im thinking what to do with Deng because his release is not very effective for me but for now im going to keep him.Comment
