Not to be a buzzkill (this is a great thread and everything), but isn't it a little late for this kinda thing? Most 2K10 features are probably finalized by now, so I doubt stuff can be added to this extent.
Anyways, I don't wanna post in this thread without contributing, so...
-Defensive stance button in 2K7 (Lock-On D sucks and is for bums)
-Alley-oop layupsComment

Now I don't know what type of schedule they are on. But I do know that the game is a little over three months from release.
IMO, that is a good amount of time to try and incorporate some of these things into the game. Even if it's not the BIG things, but some of the little things. They have a lot of time to work with. Hell, it can even be added via, patch.
I second this. And the alley oops as a whole were done very well in 2K9.-Alley-oop layupsComment

It'd be nice to hear from Simballer on this matter as well. He seems to be the point man and any info at all would be good news to us.Comment

Knowing 2K, I wouldn't bank on a patch.
Things that can be added in the 3 months before the game goes gold include gameplay tweaks and possibly combined animations (like alley-oop lay-ups).
Things that require a new interface, like shoe creator, probably wouldn't make it in time. For one, there is a bureaucracy that it needs to go through to approve it. Second, they need to design a lot of graphics, not just combine existing assets. Third, they need to make sure that the space consumed by the feature does not affect the quality of other, more primary features.
On the other hand, they still have the code from previous games, so it may be easier than that. I hope for all or most of these things by 2K11, though. Put 'em on the big board now.Comment

Re: OS, Let's Get CONSTRUCTIVE: What did you like from the older 2K's?
Not sure how possible in time but in addition to the shorter shorts/tighter jerseys on the old school legends (1980's and prior), it would be nice to see the blacktop street players actually wearing their team uniforms. At least instead of the generic black/white unis. Also make available the vintage jerseys of teams such as the 80's Sixers and Lakers, Barkley era Suns, etc. I believe that 2K spends alot of time working and improving gameplay so I have no worries about it.Comment

Re: OS, Let's Get CONSTRUCTIVE: What did you like from the older 2K's?
The Alleyoops of 2k9 still left a lot to be desired. They should have reduced the amount of layups without taking them out entirely. The poorly thrown lobs that were caught without a shot taken shouldnt have been removed entirely too. Then you still have the messed up ratings. There are too many players that can dunk them and throw them in real life but can never do it in the game.
Its aslo one of the few things that I would call too defensible.Comment

I disagree, this happens sometimes in real life-- a player throws an alley-oop and the player on the other end just goes up and catches it without attempting a shotComment

Re: OS, Let's Get CONSTRUCTIVE: What did you like from the older 2K's?
^^You disagree? Sounds like yall are saying the same thing to me.
I liked:
-How players showed injuries by hobbling up and down the court(2k4)
-lob passes off the backboard (although too frequent)
-ESPN Magazine in Association mode
-Weekly highlight show in Association (although it wasn't near as good as NFL 2k5s)
-Players wearing non-generic clothes in street modes (That lasted till 2k6 I think)
