Re: NBA 2K10 Custom Music Thread
I know alot of you guys are planning on making your own soundtracks, but I really think you should wait until me and reuben release our tracklist for this project. It might save you a TON of time. I'm looking at (and listening to) our tracklist and I really think we have pretty much every song needed. There are going to be hundreds of songs and from pretty much every genre.
We've taken basically every suggestion in this thread and included it. I think you guys will be very satisfied with what we come up. Guys, keep on posting stuff that you want to see because we're including everything good that gets mentioned.
And if there is a specific team that the song you name should go with, please list that too. Its going to help out a ton in personalizing each arena

Re: NBA 2K10 Custom Music Thread
right now its just a wait and see. but
We will doing the reverbing as well. IM not sure about shortening the clips just yet. I also read here that normalizing audio is bad? I gave some stuff to the two guys here with the game, in which the audio is normalized, so we shall see how that goes IN game.
i noted in my post above that this program Im using can mass edit these mp3 files. Shortening is not an option right now. So we may very well have 230 files that are just REVERBED and AMPLIFIED down a notch. (amplify instead of normalize is what I think you were getting at)
but for now and the immediate future until I get word back on how it sounds, we will simply have the mp3 files UNEDITED finished and combined in one place. Just as what you did with your 22 files ray on that website.
I did a sneakpeak on there with 45 edited files.
AFter simply getting the unedited mp3s, we'll wait for word on how the audio bits sound and then either normalize, or amplify down and throw in a good reverb.
The above mentioned edited 45 songs is just a test for now.Last edited by RubenDouglas; 09-27-2009, 10:01 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K10 Custom Music Thread
future, for now im only editing two parts of files. some need more work than others
START POSITION- many songs are fine where they start. some need to start 30 seconds into the song where the "chorus" is for example or where the catchy part of the song is.
-TIME LENGTH- I figure no area needs more than 2 minutes 15 seconds, so many of these 4-5 minute songs are just getting cut in half from the very beginning.
so after getting all the core mp3 files, I will begin the first stages of editing the start and length. The core batching can be done later on for the loudness, reverb, and possibly fading in.
One example would be the chacha slide. that part doesnt begin until the 2 min. mark. so i cut out the beginning and find the core "song". I then had to loop it to make it last longer than 20 seconds. Im guessing this game will NOT loop a beat for us. thats just too complex.
other songs just have dead silence for the first 5 seconds.. every second counds. so im cutting that too.. so when it will be all said and done, hopefully by tomorrow, i'll have a few hundred files edited for start time, and its length, with nothing else edited until word gets back on how the edited files sounded.Comment

Re: NBA 2K10 Custom Music Thread
Well right now, we only have two or 3people (that I know of) that have the game, and they've only had it a few days. I think as we get closer to release and more people have more time with the game, we'll get a pretty good idea of how everything works. :wink:Comment
