I was going to pick 2k for the first time this year because of this mode...but this news sucks, definetley a mode killer. And if the developers made it this way because of online play, well that just annoys me to hell because i never play online.

Wouldn't it be easy to have a disclaimer somewhere in the mode that says if you edit the settings you can't play it online with that save file. That way those of us who want to change the setting to, you know, play 48 minute games in the nba, would be able to, without it affecting anyone else.

Yeah I see what you mean, and totally agree, I'm no big online-player either. Franchise mode is where I spend my time, and up until learning about this 5min BS, I thought I was going to spend some time within this mode also, but oh well..

But man, this should not stop you from buying your first nba 2k-game

5 Minute quarters for "My Player" mode defeats the entire SIM aspect of the feature.

My Player mode was getting me very excited to pick this game up on shipping day... but this news made it lose all value or me. LOST ALL VALUE.

I'll play it if I can get some realistic stats which I think will only be possible with about 9 minute quarters minimum. (I play all my 2K9 association games at 10 minutes and its perfect)

Release day patch would be nice to fix this horrible decision 2K. Please listen to us on this one it's crushing to think you will ruin this awesome feature with the 5 min thing.

Man this thread is something else. One guy makes his first post in 5 years to say how much he doesn't like this. Amazing. I've never seen something so unanimously supported. You should change the title to, "Please sign if you don't like people who kill babies and puppies."

This is definitely a game killer as far as this mode goes. I wasn't too happy about the unrealistic contract/business aspect of the mode but this is terrible.

It's nice to have clarity and unanimity on these forums for a change. I don't know if you're being tongue in cheek, or thumbing your nose at people's passion, but either way I think we've had enough of comparing this to profound socio-political issues.

does the 5 minute quarters only apply to online or is this offline myplayer while your in the middle of a season?
