Pared how are you liking the game? I've been playing both games and for some reason I keep coming back to 2k. It may be the NBA Today commentary and presention that pulls me into everything.

Just curious what you thought...

I can’t stress How much I love the PS3 interface….I mean inviting a friend online to a game is so much easier. No more people coming into your host. When you’re waiting for a friend to connect or get online….lol No more tons of menus to just get to a “quick game”….lol It’s actually a quick game….lol I have a question for the Vets. Anyone think the game will still play the same way it plays right now online on release day. When we might get numbers of 1,500-2,000 plus users. Because right now. In the 5 games I played online. There was little to no lag at all. Will the servers be able to stand up on release day?

No, the PS3 online interface was TURRIBLE last year. 2k didn't take advantage of the PS3 specific online play API's.

Glad to read it's improved this year. It really was bad last year.

I have NO idea what Sony's doing with their online community! Like, what's taking so damn long 4 them 2 get it 2gether!? If they gotta just str8 bite off of XBL, do it but do SOMETHING already!

That's the thing... it wasn't on Sony, it was 2k who dropped the ball by not implementing the advanced match-making system.

It's up to each developer to put those things in the game.

Let's get back on track though.

Another great addition that 2k took advantage of was user status feature on the PS3. I can’t tell you how annoying it was to be in a game. And get 50 messages from saying “league game?” from another user that just see NBA 2K9 under the users screen name. But now you have underneath their name “Playing Ranked”, “In My Player menu” and etc. So no more BS. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o

But another thing I want to say. Pared was right….Games are much more enjoyable. No more weak *** lay ups. Like I said I haven’t seen any cheesy things yet. I mean even when my friend who kept shooting fade away. If I had put a hand in his face….He was mostly likely to missed. Last year (2k9) it felt so automatic when you did a fade away. <o

Like I said before….I can’t stress how much you don’t even notice if you were playing online vs offline. My friend and I didn’t notice a thing. Last year my friend returned 2k9 after 3 weeks of frustration. Because he could not get a game online and when he did..”The game looked like **** and there was a terrible delay/lag in the controls”. Exactly his own words. But last Friday after we got the game. The first thing he said was “Wow…2k must of heard me. Because are not playing right now. This **** is hot”. lol

I played about 5 online games. And will repeat again. There was little to no lag all the games I played.
