I dont know what game you guys are playing. this game has the same problems as last year. I keep hearing guys trying to sugar coat this game because they want it to be great. the hype almost got me then the more I played the more I realized bs. you can still get constant layups and dunks in paint on hardest level also cpu does stupid things like Gasol dribbling at top of the key while getting double teamed, Jason Terry on a fastbreak with no one close stops and shoots 10 ft jumper and the grand daddy of it all Jordan Farmer catching and dunking a alley oop like he was Labron. Thats it game over I turned that bs off.

My concerns are the AI defense and the fact that they are practically sleep on your team!

You mean cheesey garbage like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0Zppb2gU7o
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

control control control. im just not seeing it or good enough yet to appreciate what we have here. I threw CH2k8 to see the differences and for me its night and day. animations do not take over AT all. its a thing of beauty. here, i would say so far its almost like they are going backwards.. try the older games out.

i hate to say it, but its not looking good in my book. hmmm

I'm in the same boat. I just don't get it..I have a long weekend coming up though so I'll give 2k10 alot of play then I'll give it a more solid judgment. The control is just bad though.

Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread

Yeah after playing a few more games I turned it off because I couldnt properly move my bigman into the paint to follow his man who was cutting to the basket and they just lead passed it to him for an easy layup. Its like he was stuck in cement or something. Theres no fluid movement even with turbo. The CPU abuses the mid range to paint pass because theres no way to stay with your man because the control is 'clunky'.

I'm gonna mess around with player speed and see if that makes any kind of difference but thats the main thing thats pissed me off so far. I love how the superstars are the primary playmakers now though. Wade has to do everything on Miamis sorry team.

If only theyd let the user have control

Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread

i asked this earlier but everyone seems to ignore my question. In 2K9 I feel that I am forced into that herky jerky collision way too often. When I am on a fast break or when I am on a 2 on 1 fast break with a good angle for an easy basket. Instead of getting an easy 2 I feel that I am forced into a defender that leads to that herky jerky collision that results in a block, foul or sometimes a no call. Is 2K10 also plagued by this?

Have you touched the sliders at all? If not, take Inside and Close Shot Success down to about 40 and it shouldn't be as bad.

I think the game plays really well, with a slight tweak of the sliders im getting good games everytime I play. Its hands down better then 2k9 and thats really all we can ask for that they still progress everytime they release a game.

Oh yeah and another thing, they completely took away the spin move in this game.

Everytime I drive in and press triangle because my defender is overplaying a certain side, you either get put into an animation where you run over the defender or the help defender for a charge, or get called for a travel.

I understand people were abusing it last year, but whats the point of having the move as a button on offence if its a button that should indicate youre going to go into a turnover animation. Why not call the triangle button 'turnover' instead of 'spin move'?

I've tried the move 10 times total with different players at differenr positions, and Ive been called for a violation all 10 times. I dont understand.

I was having the same problem. Then I started holding the shot stick immediately after initiating the spin animation.
