Re: Is shot release automatic?
Basically we need to have more control of the player when shooting. For some reason 2K has given the user less control when on offense for shooting and on less control on defense (the defensive assist slider in the controller options allegedly fixes this, haven't tried it yet). This is one are that EA has 2K beat, it feels like the user has better controls of his players. Please patch this 2K.Comment

Re: Is shot release automatic?
This has nothing to do with missing the shots. I'm only talking about the release. Seems like it doesn't matter if you hold the button down longer than you should. They release the shots anyway. It's just a timing/control quirk. Not a showstopper by any means.
They've had the option to turn that off in previous versions, but I haven't checked to see if it's in 2k10.
How dare you type down something like that when Im OCD....Now I'll be looking for it.Comment

Re: Is shot release automatic?
Did you try with someone that has a different shot than Artest? Artest has one of those shots where it releases almost right away.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

Re: Is shot release automatic?
I tried a lot of different players and the release is always perfect. If your doing a shooting drill it will say poor release if you hold the button down but all the releases are the same. Does not matter how early or late you release the button all shots are released at the top of the jump.Last edited by haloofduty; 10-07-2009, 06:01 PM.Comment

Re: Is shot release automatic?
tested with all the lakers squad
as long as u hold the button down some of the shots will go in......
i think what its doing is shooting to the players percentage, same thing like when u set it to Real Player Ft%
2k never fails to add a new dimension of disappointment every year
please 2k just scrap this engine, u all have basically let live surpass u because of that engine, this has to be the last year, and even now the game needs a patch to make it fairly enjoyable
once u get over all the new animations, u see its the same ol' 2k with the same ol' problemos, and now apparently a new one
Now im starting to wonder if when u play online when people hit threes like reggie miler is it skill or the computer taking over???Comment

Re: Is shot release automatic?
Good point. If this is true (which it is) shooting jumpers online will take no skill. Everything will be released perfect. Not fair for the better player. Scrubs who cant shoot all will shoot like Reggie Miller.Comment

Re: Is shot release automatic?
if you hold the ball. its goes by the players rating of that jumper. 2k let the shooting animations play out fully. but if you go to practice, shots have bad releases, some very bad releases and will miss.
lol this actually may force cheesers to become sim cause they will miss more shots
this what last year as well so people dont act like this is new or you just didnt realize it. i can tell who all had shot that you can just holdComment

Re: Is shot release automatic?
so does this only happen when you're pressing the button? is it the same with the "shot stick"Comment

Re: Is shot release automatic?
also the difficulty level matter as well. the lower the setting the easier the shot would go in. but on the higher settings you need to know the perfect release timeComment
