    Re: My Player Progression Strategy

I don't know that rebounding ratings are complete crap but you can get a ton of boards without it. As long as you have position and timing you will get quite a few boards but the area where the rebounding ratings help is when you don't have position. Another thing is as a pg your man won't try to box you out to much but the area where I really have been able to improve my game with my rebound ratings higher is I have been able to play a lot more help D and not worry so much about position as even if I don't concentrate on rebounding and getting position I will still get a ton of boards.

As for the minutes it seems sometimes they reset the minutes and roles to match the overall ratings. This seems to happen any time there is roster change so I would assume the offseason would be included there.

One more thing that I would like them to change is they don't show your player's rank among all players or among his position in the player card. It would be nice to know where I stand overall cause I think I could be kinda on the rise being a center and not having that much competition. I am easily the best overall center on my team and probably would be or atleast be close on a couple other teams as well.
Durring the season they were shooting "normal" the few times I had faced them. The difficulty is on default, I didnt adjust anything prior to starting it except I had adjusted the sliders abit down for shooting and such not knowing that it would be the only time you could adjust them.

Even if they did show the player rank I dont know if that would benefit anything. I was rookie of the month every month but the first and had much better numbers then all of them but didnt win ROTY or make either of the rookie teams. The five minute quarters for me is hurting more then its helping.

Does anyone know how the contracts and stuff work out? I got drafted in the 1st round pick number 20 by the Jazz and my player is a 6'4 athletic PG. 7 games in I'm getting major minutes but I'm coming of the bench and I'm only playing SG because of Deron Williams. I want to be a starter as soon as possible, and I wish I could switch teams. Does anyone know if you can switch teams after completing the first season?

Is anyone finding that they aren't being able to play all of the games? After my last game, it said that we were playing the Cavaliers next.

I was really looking forward to lighting up my favorite team lol but I didn't even get to play it. When I played my next game, Kevin Harlan wsa talking about how they smashed us too.

Thinking that Jerry Sloan didn't put me into that game, I went and checked the box score and saw that my player did play and he only had 3 points. What was that about? Is that supposed to happen?

I don't think the showing of the player rank would help anything. It would just be nice to see something other than N/A there plus it would be nice to see my player climbing those lists.

Don't know that I could play this on 5 minute quarters. I wouldn't be able to stand the low scores and stats. I am currently the leading canidate for rookie of the year, hopefully I will get it as I am leading all rookies in points, rebounds, blocks, offensive rebounds, and I am nearly top in FG% and am leading all players with more than 50 shots. There are a couple who are like 2/3 or 3/4 who are ahead of me and even a couple with 20 or 30 shots taken but of all players that actually play I am leading.

Another thing that annoys me is I have no control over my player's moral. They need to either leave it as a set even moral or let me control it by either being happy with my minutes or complaining trying to get more minutes or more money or whatever. Maybe another option could be to set desired minutes or role and go off of that. I really don't think a 69 overall player should be complaining about starting, getting the 3rd most minutes on the team, and being on a winning team that will most likely make the playoffs.

Did you go look at the headlines before the game? When you finish a game if you go to headlines it will sim the next day. If you have a game that day it will be simmed. Also, for some reason this only happens the first time you go to headlines after a game. You can then go back to it without simming but if you play another game it will do it again.

This also could be an option for players who don't want to play all games you could try going into a game, exiting, then going to headlines to sim the game.

All contracts are 1 year long so after the season you can switch. That said, if you play well enough they will probably trade off williams even though they would never do that. Sure wish they would let user controlled players start out of position. They do in summer league but not in the actual season for some reason. Also, they will let non cpu players start out of position as we start both durrant and green every game but they would never let my player do that.

I should have gotten the DC but I opted out of it even after knowing that you could change the minutes in it, its tough being told your team needs to score more and that your win wasnt because you played better but obviously the other team didnt play well lol.

If I cannot adjust the minutes once the patch comes out then I guess I am stuck but from reading it I dont get the impression that will be the case. I forgot I led the league in shooting % also with Shaq nipping right at my heals last season but still got punked out at the end of the year.

Ill keep plugging away and build up my guy and I am not looking forward to playing in Cleavland later today with the framerate problems there. They are a hard enough team as is without additional issues.

                    Re: My Player Progression Strategy

I have luckily seen no framerate issues.

As far as minutes I really don't think that we will see anything in any patch this year to be able to adjust it. The chances of that even being changes next year are pretty slim. If they were to "fix" anything here I would assume what they would do is eliminate the ability to change minutes and settings at all. This is because this is setup as an online based mode and they want everyone to be playing on a level field. If any patches do actually cause your minutes to reset to 5, which I have heard mentioned, I just won't download the patch. That would pretty much ruin the game for me making me play 5 minute quarters. I already have decent careers set up with a few different positions and no clones which I can use if I decide not to download the patch so I can play a few without ever having to go online if need be.

They have already said that we will be able to change minutes freely post patch and without having to start a new game. At least that is what one of the developers said on the 2kforums.

Its been an interesting start to season two to say the least, out of the three games I have played, I have played center for two quarters (im not even close to being able to play center) and we picked up Ray Allen from Boston for Kirk Hinrich. I cannot see Boston giving up Allen for Hinrich IRL so not sure how this trade happened and dont expect him to stick around too long (still cant read rumors ) due to minutes I am sure.

                            Hey everybody..

I'm just about to finish my first season with my Scoring SG. I was wondering for those of you that have an Athletic SG/SF, what would be the main differences in starting out in abilities for these two styles? Is it purely physical or do your dunk and layup ratings start higher?

I dont remember the main diffrences (I compaired but its been awhile) but I started with a scoring SG and then scrapped him for my current Athlethic SG who was a bit quicker and more responsive out of the gate. One of the pro's for me was the speed since its higher by default (and really important overall) and have dumped points into shooting.

Athletic has the best dunk ratings as well as physical ratings. A slasher has higher layup ratings and handling ratings. The scorer is a better shooter.
