yea, it sounds like the clone issue to me too. the clone must either be injured or his morale is low because he's unhappy with his minutes or something. that happened to some people over in the official 2k forums.

I have the same issue although I do not have a clone and I get plenty of minutes so there has to be a more logical reason for it.

Are you playing on pro level? How are you able to get your speed up so high with that attribute being so expensive and only a 51? My player speed is 66. I have yet to really improve the speed because its so exp. I wanted to round out my player before I can work on his speed or quickness.

Im halfway through the my rookie season in the NBA with the Mavs (All around SF). I didn't know about the clone glitch thing. I would hate to start over if I have my player on the Blazers. When that screen came up, I chose to be on the Mavs. Does that mean I have to start all over? I used my Combine player to import into 2k10.

Can you change the difficulty once you have already started?

I started a new my player last night and have won each of my first 5 summer league games by at least 30 so i think i need to up it from default.

Nope, can't change it after you start.

Does anyone know if the "Hands" attribute affects rebounding, or is it merely for catching passes?

                        Re: My Player Progression Strategy

I'm sure this has been mentioned at some point in the 53 pages of this thread but I haven't read it all, and I saw some people questioning it so I thought I'd chime in.

SPEED as everyone knows is an extremely expensive attribute but there is a very easy way to build it if you don't mind a bit of reloading the game (some people consider this cheating I know).

Basically just run the dribble drill over and over, quitting out if you don't get the +1 speed reward. For some reason there is a bug where if you keep getting it consecutively it gives you an extra point there. I have never spent skill points on speed and my player was 99 speed at the start of the NBA season.

At the moment I'm struggling where to improve my PG however. I have 80-85 in pass, ball handle, offhand, ball security and midrange. Actually my guy still can't hit an uncontested 15 foot jumper even with 80 mid and I've practised his release a lot :s

I raised offensive clutch, daware, oaware and consistency all to the mid 60s. To be honest I didn't really see any difference but then again all of my points come from driving which are generally high % looks anyway.

                          Re: My Player Progression Strategy

The consistancy is a huge factor in hitting shots even when you are open, if you get it around 85 or so you should see a diffrence.

                            Re: My Player Progression Strategy

I'm ready to just give up on my player mode. I'm a 6'3 150lb PG. I start the game at PG and can get to a decent A/A- rating then it moves me to SG and puts me up against people like Lebron and other players that are 6'8 and 225-250lbs. My rating then gets pummelled down to B- / C / because of "Allow matchup to score". But I really cant stop them, they just post up on me, back me into the basket and lay it in. I have no chance of defending it.

Is their anyway to force it to keep playing me at PG and not matching me up against players at other positions that I don't have a hope in hell in defending ??

I'm averaging 8.6 Assists per game / setting screens / good position etc but allowing too many PPGs by my matchups when I'm playing at SG to be able to get decent ratings.

nope, the position that your coach puts you in during substitutions you have no control over. for help on post defense, try increasing your strength attributes. also, if you notice that you have help waiting for you in the post, attempt to steal the ball. you wont steal it, but your help defender will step up and force the ball handler to pass it to the open man.

If your overall rating is higher than all the other PG's you will be more on the PG postion than anything else.
For your Post D, just try to call for help with L1, try to steal like sccavs64 said or try to master your timing for good shot defense. Because being honest with you. Even if you play good shot D, guys like Lebron who are true SF will back a true PG down all day. Just try to do your best and if you fail, be mad at the beyotch-booty coach (aka Bitc8 a33 coach) lol
