Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Does anybody here have the game for PS3? And does the clone glitch happen on there to? If it does what do you have to do to not let it happen?Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
That rating really counts, when i had it at 25 if i missed two shots in a row forget about it, it was over for me that game.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I'm really enjoying the My Player mode at the moment. I started doing the Summer League with the Rockets then decided to try and get a contract with the Wizards. I got dropped and now in the D-league, where i ain't doing too bad but i'm stuck with 5 min quarters for now till the patch drops, where i'm probably gonna have to restart again. Really good idea by 2k though and like i said i'm thoroughly enjoying it, it will only get better once the patch is out.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Totally. It's the reason i'm able to shoot over 60% in 32 games of play so far. And all my shooting skills aren't higher than 71. If you take smart shots and let the offense come to you then consistency really works in your favor.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
exactly....my consistency was a 94. I just got done with training camp and saw I had a clone...going to start over. But yeah...it actually got too easy with consistency that high.Chicago Bears
Oregon State Beavers
Portland Trail Blazers
San Francisco Giants
Chicago Blackhawks
MLS: Portland Timbers
EPL: Liverpool FCComment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
On the other hand, with even 60 or 70 consistency you can take a lot more chances without really risking having a terrible game. This opens you up a lot allowing you to be a much more aggressive scorer and really increases the chances of you making a couple of those tougher shots and getting hot and then you can maintain the hotstreak longer and have more big games without off games.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Haven't ever been behind anyone real good. Antwan jamison was probably the best and it took about 30 games. Now I am going to be backing up deron williams but I am trying to get sent to the DLComment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
How expensive is expensive? The mid range should only be around 350 or so at that point shouldn't it? That is doable and you can probably pick up a couple a game there. However, shoot off dribble is I know around half as much as for athletic SFs so I would suppose it is probably similar for athletic PGs which would make is a cheaper option that would help with all areas of shooting. Shoot in traffic can help out as well but as a pg you can usually get enough open looks and with your height you shouldn't be that effected by pressure so this would be a secondary thing I would think. The other thing that you really need to improve to have any sort of mid range game is consistancy. Without it then a couple misses and you are really in trouble.
If you want to open up the mid range game you can start to hit decently with a 60 on mid range shooting and a 70 on shoot off dribble will allow you to create your own shots. Should really only take a couple thousand points to get there. Add in 70 consistancy which will take a few thousand more and you will be a very decent mid range shooter at least capable of making the defenses respect your shot opening up more driving and passing lanes.
I might start upping my on ball defense and stamina now that I'm in the NBA so I can keep up with the elite guards.
Also, would it be worth increasing my dunk to 65 (now at around 55) and ball handling to 70 (now at around 60) to get the increased consistency and extra animation options? I tend to use dunks/layups a fair bit on the pick and roll and would like some more animations for the dribble... but for those that have already unlocked them, are they worth it? I think from memory the costs aren't great, 10,000 SP would probably get me to both levels (or at least close to).Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I am on my second time through from the start and every summer league game and training camp game I beat my matchup, got my A+ / A each game, got rave reviews from the 2k insider and still just got dropped down to the D-league.
I suppose ill play a few games and see what happens but if by game 10 if I keep performing at the level I have been and dont get picked up I will probably just stop playing this mode.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
@ hulkamaphone Dunk isn't to bad up to 65 but then trying to get up to 80 is really expensive, for an athletic SF it gets up to like 700 or 800 a point but 80 is where you get specialty dunks.
@ eclipso wow, how can you play so well and not make the team? I have been through training camp 3 times and not been cut once playing for 3 different teams and playing 2 different positions. Now I am going through again and I am going to put up an F some game to go to the DL just to check it out.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I'll be re-starting this mode once I get a good roster update and some bugs get fixed (the auto save/auto update for one, and the clone glitch) but for now its just good to check out how every different decision affects my player.Comment
