    I'm all about rookies/scouting/and drafting.

They really need to bring back the portraits, but put it like "My Player" the comp. generated.

I wish they could add college stats, so you can see what type of player they were, I think that would be a cool edition.

Yea I agree completely on adding college stats, If 2k would copy NFL2K5's Franchise mode as far as that goes, I would be ecstatic.

Taking into effect the player's ratings, a prospect scouting report could go hand in hand with stats to help showcase and get a better understanding of the player your scouting.

Where the hell would they get these college stats from considering there isn't a way to transfer players from College Hoops to NBA 2k? Or are you referring to the generated rookies (which nobody should even think about using for any reason).
        Concrete evidence/videos please

-Contenders' goals should be to make the playoffs and/or win a series. They should look to add veteran players or other role players that can add depth and experience.

-Rebuilding teams should either be looking to dump salaries or add talent. Older teams should look to get under the cap or draft replacements for their stars or make trades (a la Washington) to get a fresh start. Younger teams (such as Minnesota) should work on acquiring draft picks and young players.

All teams should go through this cycle, rebuilding teams eventually become contenders, contenders become championship contenders, championship contenders become rebuilding teams.
          ---

Something else is current poor management of the cap. If you let the CPU control the Knicks, for instance, they have a ton of cap space yet waste it on underachieving role players instead of trying to hit the home run in free agency.
I really would like to second this. It would be awesome to see championship contenders make a big move at the trade deadline.

Also I would like to see expiring contracts be worth something. So many trades in the game make perfect sense for both teams, but the button doesn't get pressed because the ratings aren't even.

People that complain about the sim logic listen here. Bad rosters = bad sim stats.

The simming is FINE. That isn't the issue. The rosters are the issue.

They would come from the CPU generated rookies. If they devise a way to accurately show some good sim stats for a college player, that would open the door for a deeper scouting report. So not only could we look at a players ratings but their stats as well to determine the type of player we would want on are team.

Its the same concept as in NFL 2K5.

And please take away those silhouettes, nobody wants the league to become faceless in a couple seasons of play.

They took out the free throw and passing drills. I think these are important and a bad thing to forget. But they better add this next time around.

And also what^he said about the faces. They should do what they did with the my player face portraits with all cpu generated players.

During the association the computer could sim stats for the potential rookies based on their ratings the same way they do it for the nba and d-league players. They don't have to be perfect, it would just help to make the scouting more dynamic. Weighing potential/athleticism/nba transferable tools is something that scouts struggle with every year.

and putting all the time it takes to create or edit a custom roster is brutal. if they only added in some way to universally change a rating or tendency for every player.....

Another thing, injuries around all-star break. If a player is injured when all-star teams are announced, he automatically forfeits his chance of playing in the game. Doesn't matter if he has a torn ACL or stubbed toe. My most recent AS game had Delonte West starting for the East because JJ was out, Wade had a minor injury, VC had a minor injury. You should have the option of playing guys through injuries in the all-star game.

I would like the cpu to utilize the best lineup possible, not just by relying on the highest rated player, but a player that gives the team the best chance to win. If your playing against a team with a good scorer, the cpu should want to put their best defender in the starting lineup, instead of the guy with the higher rating.

The Chicago Bulls come to mind when they had Ben Gordon, the Nuggets and how they utilize JR Smith off the bench and how the Spurs would have Ginobili come off the bench at times.

I just would like to see players better utilized by specific strengths, rather than their overall rating.

                            Agreed.

Anyway, don't know if it was mentioned, but having rumble hotspots for rookies would be nice. Maybe have them evolve over time or be manually set.

I'd like to see an "NBA Tonight" or "NBA Weekly" Show for the Association mode like they had in Colleke Hoops 2K8.

& so & so forth. this would eliminate the depth slider as you could set certain positions of depth to "benchwarmer" or "foul trouble" or "none".

of course there would have to be the pre-set player types that ive been talking about forever.
