Or fade aways when a hook should be done in a situation.

If you think about it....I don't think Deveplors wanted the game to look weird/stupid with casual users shooting 15-20 foot hook shots. I don't think I've seen anyone shoot a hook shot from that far in real life. I would totally ok with it if the users kept missing lol. But that just wouldn't be fun after a while. Know what I mean guys?

cool idea, I think that should be tied to hustle, and should be deactivated in the fourth quarter, 10pts or less.

Whatever happened to shot stick blocking? Why did they remove that after 2k7? It helped keep 2k7 balanced because you could defend the paint much better.

They don't need to add that. All they have to do is make the hustle attribute affect it.

Come to think of it, what does hustle even affect? I don't see a difference between Verajao and anyone else in this game.

Hustle does effect the game. Loose balls, rebounds, taking charges, driving for more loose ball lol. I don't think it noticeable to some. But I can see those hustle guys getting the little things.

Re: NBA 2k11 - Lets Talk Gameplay improvements

I agree with a lot of what people have been saying.

One gripe I've always had has been with dunk defense. I think we can all recognize that the game is very generous with dunks (and has been for some time), but this problem is exacerbated by the fact that the defense VERY aggressively tries to defend ALL dunks, leading to extra-unrealistic dunks in traffic.

In real life, if someone is very clearly about to dunk, the defense pulls off. Seriously, with the exception of Alonzo Mourning types, nobody allows themselves to be embarrassed by attempting to stop a dunk too late. If anything, NOT getting dunked on is a skill these days -- and one that Amar'e Stoudemire is clearly proud of. It's not even that hard to justify; in this era of excess fouls, there is no use in trying to stop guys once they have a clean line to the bucket.

In the game, players will come lunging from all directions and distances to stop dunks, and they are rarely successful. If someone gets a wide open fastbreak in the game, and the trailing defender is anyone other than a LeBron James or Tayshaun Prince (ask Reggie Miller), that defender should just pull up and let the ballhandler earn his spot on SportsCenter. Same thing goes with a help defender who is a step behind. On those rare occasions when the D does this, it looks SO much cooler than when 3 defenders are lunging all over the place trying feebly to stop the bucket.

I still want to see the occasional posterization, but only in proper situations. If one defender tries to step up as Bron comes down the lane, I want to see him get Frederic Weis'ed in the worst possible way. By highlighting the real, one-on-one, nuts-in-the-mouth dunks, over the standard dunks amidst 3 defenders engaged in the same desperate shot blocking animation, it will make those real posterizations that much cooler.

Has anyone mentioned anything about passing into cutting players in the lane needing an overhaul? Realistically, passes to cutting players into the paint are NOT overhead passes to players who catch them overhead while the defenders are pretty helpless. It may happen in real life with long-armed players like Andrew Bynum, but not many others. It'd be nicer looking and more realistic if they threw bounce passes at realistic angles rather than overhead passes to cutting players.

Ok, so you complain that there are too many dunks, and instead of suggesting how to solve that you ask for the dunks to be flashier?

I said nothing to suggest I wanted 15ft hook shots. I have no idea where you got that from. I suggested a control modification "when close" to the basket to allow hooks and fades.
