They just never felt the need to tout it. Think of NFL2K5. Blocking and tackling animations respected physics. That's why when a big back hit a cornerback head up, he fell forward if he wasn't stumble. But if he was stumbling, the a good DB could stop that forward progress.

Re: All DO animations necessarily make a game bad
Yea dude freakin Nba 2k10 went in the guiness world records for most animations in a basketball game last year. The developer says it would take about a month to see all the animations and to this day..its very rare but i'll see an animation and be like Wtf..never seen that one before cause its so different yet realistic..just the other day i was playinga game in my association and D. J augustine layed it up and stumble into the camera but he didn't like stumble alway back he juist stopped toward the camera man and made sure he was okay and then ran back up court..Comment

Re: All DO animations necessarily make a game bad
They are still using two player animations, but the animations will branch out into different outcomes depending on user input. It's definitely an improvement.Comment

And no one is talking about the general use of physics. It's about how and where physics are used. And, no, not every game chooses animations based on a actual physical simulation. Some games just use positional state, while others go beyond that and use momentum state.Last edited by Boilerbuzz; 09-06-2010, 03:32 AM.Comment

Re: All DO animations necessarily make a game bad
That's the thing. I don't think they have ever made the claim that the animations are dynamically *CREATED*. But that's a topic discussed in that forum.Comment
