Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
I own both consoles and have them hooked up to the same TV via HDMI - 32 Sharp Aquos LED and they're very different IMO. I think the 360 is by far the better looking game in game play, better anti-aliasing, crowd, floor reflections etc., though when zoomed in on a close-up automatic replay the the players faces IMO look as good if not better on the PS3, they are sharper (though that's because they aren't anti-aliased which at times can blur the image slightly). The aliasing on the PS3 in 1080p or 720p to me is MUCH more noticeable than on the 360. The frame rate on the PS3 is excellent and so are the controls, the game is smooth on both systems, though I think the PS3 runs just a tad faster, again because the 360 is running a 2x anti-aliasing requiring a little more processing where as the PS3 is not. The PS3 supports DTS audio and the 360 as usual only offers DD 5.1, audio wise the PS3 is better.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
The movements, contact and overall feel of this game is really mind boggling. I liked 2k10 but I felt the movements needed polish. In 2k11, they have exceeded my expectations.
I'm pleasantly surprised at how well this game feels and the responsiveness of the controls are truly amazing. 2k has set the bar really high with the gameplay of this title. It looks like the presentation and features will beast as well.
2k has always been about feeling and animations. And 2k11 is going to be hard to top. The game plays so silky smooth. Wow!!! What a great game. I may have to take some vacation time the week of the 5th.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
after some more time with the demo, i have to take back some of the stuff i said. a lot of my problems were related to not being used to the controls. i realized that shot blocking is very much controlled by which direction you move the left stick when you jump...you really have to aim yourself directly towards the shooter or you player won't jump towards him. once i understood this, it made me appreciate it more...but there are still a couple funky blocking animations (there is a bad hovering block animation when defending jump shots where the player will put one hand out and hover in the air as if in slow motion), and the block animations are a tad bit slow, but it's not enough to ruin it for me. once i got a better feel for the controls, things started to work better.
I do still have a problem with the success rate of turn around jumpers out of the post position...these seem to go in at about an 80 percent rate, even with a hand right in the face. there really seems to be no way to defend these types of shots.Comment

Anybody here that ESPN has said that NBA 2K11 will be the game of the year? Pretty funny considering that they are featured in NBA Elite 11.Greatest Franchise Ever

Dude it's just a 4 minute demo. But try using turbo while timing your block attempt right. It helps a little. You will find that 2k is all about momentum and 4 minutes is too small of a sample size to BE ALL CONCERNED.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
Is it just me or is the new hard foul mechanic (RT+RS) they put in the game just like an intentional foul ? I though it would be like a hard push or shove but its just does the same thing an intentional foul doesComment

no disrespect intended but i love the fact that most of the complaints for the demo are because of all the things 2k left out (can't play as the celtics, 4 minute quarter, no commentary, can't call plays, can't change camera angles, etc). 2ks demos are always pretty cut back, last year had all the same things left out except that you could choose your team, but to me this is just another great marketing strategy by 2k because it makes people want the game even more. The demo serves it purpose it allows you to see and feel how much the gameplay has changed, but its only a quick teaser. Its like being thirsty and only having a small juicy juicy to drink, it's done before you quench your thirst.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
Hmm I disagree. If you take the same type of turn around jumpers while someone put their hands in front of you in 2K10, you will miss that shot everytime regardless of game difficulty. But in the demo, I've seen KG does the same thing over and over again but made like 90% of them while Gasol attempt to jump block him. You pretty much have to touch the ball in order to affect his shots.Comment
