I don't mind the "skying for rebound" animations, it's the fact that it's usually done by the bigs that's the problem. It just seems so arcade-like to see all these big stiffs skying for rebounds and block shots that even D12 would have a hard time getting. You very, very rarely have a big that's agile and jump high enough (D12, and who?) to get those rebounds. Some bigs do have excellent hops, but they lack the agility to jump very high without really gathering themselves. Whereas, a player with agility and hops and can jump high much easier.
I would love to see at least four type of jumping animations for rebounding and shot blocking depending how hard you hit the "Y" or triangle button in combination with the Turbo Button: 1. A very responsive, low to the ground, jump (quick jump). 2. Less responsive, higher jump. 3. Even less responsive, max vertical jump (these would be straight vert jump which would not cover much ground but very high up). 4. Jump covers more ground than straight vert jump. The responsiveness of these jumps should relate to the player agility or quickness rating, which bigs should be very low.
