Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

with the exception of the pick and roll, pick and pop, and lead passing....im telling everyone...the success rate of your teammates sinking shots are dramatically better if you pass them the ball while they're in stride

im averaging close to 16 apg(i can easily get 20+ assists since i usually get like 10 in the first quarter alone) WHILE dominating in almost every statistical category(block excluded)...average: 30.8ppg, 13.4rpg, 15.8 apg, 4.7spg, 2.3topg....i think it's important to note that im pulling down those rebounds at a height of 6'3''

the game's mechanic in this mode is pretty messed up in terms of shooting percentages...why comply with the developers' errors and bring yourself to frustration? just work around the problem and find a different way to put up points besides being over reliant on shooting(do so by making your teammates take the ball inside)...get them on a hotstreak before you give them passes for an open shot....not saying everyone should play the game this way but this method works for me and my teammates do knock down their shots and if they dont, i dont get pissed off about it...i just switch it up and make them attack the basket (also my team is averaging around 20-30 freethrows per game which is a bit more realistic because i know a lot of people are having trouble drawing fouls in this game)

i know my player's individual stats arent realistic but it's more than just averaging a triple double and being content...i agree it is a bit of an ego thing but what i do is more than that....i try to stretch my ability and skill set with the allotted time given to me on the floor...it's a good practice to see what i can do in this game so whenever i do play against my friends i can beat them easily

not sure how but im also leading the race for most improved player for the second time(won the first one in season 2) in my career and my season average is just a bit slightly higher than last season in certain stats...im sure other players around the league are more deserving of this award since they will most likely have a higher jump in statistical output comparative to past seasons...but all in all...this just shows me that i can still push my player beyond what are already stellar numbers

my first three seasons of this career were done under 9 minute quarters and i still held unrealistic stats but that came at a cost to my teammates who averaged a bit lower stats in the categories of rebounding and assists(sometimes points)....by bumping it up to 12 minutes this season i was able to let them get more realistic stats that were closer to their career average WHILE still enjoying what i do with my own player

it's not like i average 50+ points(as what i wrote above, i score only around 30ppg, which is enough to secure the league leader status) a game and completely neglect other aspects of basketball...i secure wins by doing literally everything on the floor and live up to my playing style of an all-around player...

even if i dont put up these kind of numbers and play more attuned with those that are sim players...my interest in things always waivers and comes in sporadic streaks...either way i get bored and play other games(black ops)...so my current play style doesnt at all affect my loyalty to the game...that's just all me and my personality

i know the difficulty of this mode is different depending on the position you are as a player...i wont try to hide that...i know users who arent PG's are required(to some extent) to be dependent on a cpu PG to run their offense and any stupid thing they do on your team is usually out of your control...but as i see it, if you keep yourself situated and rooted in playing the game as how it was fatally designed due to an imperfect patch(the feature of playcalling is great but face it, this needs improvement) it just makes it even more aggravating...for these reasons i believe it's completely fine to just cancel out of plays and revert back to a freestyle type of play(which unfortunately doesnt always work since the cpu PG would still just try to ISO free and make a shot or drive to the basket)

    TL;DR

The Bulls are a pretty fun team to play with. Before I was moved to starter, I got subbed in at SG a lot which was pretty bad because Luol Deng is one of those guys who shoots every time he touches the ball. Now he comes off the bench and is very effective. Derrick Rose is amazing. He has cold stretches when he can't shoot but then he has so many options to pass to. Boozer and Noah are a dominant frontcourt. We haven't had a big man dominate us yet.

Also I was looking at the MVP list and #1 was LeBron, 2 was Josh Smith, 3 was Wade, 4 was Joe Johnson, and 5 was Bosh. Weird how 2 teams (Hawks and Heat) dominate the list. I am 2nd to John Wall in ROY voting.
that mvp race thing is pretty flawed along with the all-star voting

my current mvp race is filled with 5 players from my team...

      #1 is my player
#2 is tyreke evans(probably the only other player who deserves to be on this list)
#3 is tim duncan(he's technically a bench player but he has 30+ minutes of playing time while our starting C has 7 minutes....still he only puts up 14ppg and around 8rpg...not really impressive)
#4 is christian joseph(cpu generated, 2nd place in 6th man of the year voting who averages just 10ppg)
      #5 is demarcus cousins(barely averages 10ppg, 5rpg, and 1bpg)

I just took over CP3's starting spot. I am not even doing that well enough to start over him. I am only 52 ovr and averaging 13 ppg. He got injured. He still plays, but he is the Starting SG.
We have 8 guards on the team

Hey Enigma, thanks for the tip. And I have actually passed the ball in stride and there is some truth to your tip. You average a triple double? Damn. I avg more double doubles. I actually tried my best to get the assists up and I was just short on a triple double in one game. I'm a starting SF for the bucks avg 24.7ppg, 7reb, 1.9ast, 1.7blks per game. How do you steal in this game? I can't steal using on ball defense to save my life. I can only steal hitting the passing lanes.

Yea the decisions are weird. The cpu coaching sucks bad. Why would you put your hot player on the bench? (since I lead the team in scoring) That sometimes don't give me enough time to complete goals.

One time I got injured in a key game when I was ready to go off.

that looks like my leading scoring/rebounders that they cut into my game during my player. After the AS break all the leading players were on my team. For some reason, towards the end of the season it went back to normal.

                Very Flawed indeed.

Oh does anyone notice that when someone fouls out, he really doesn't get off the court until the next dead ball? I got proof of this.

I guess CP3 will get his spot back when gets healthy. I am not ready to be a starting PG yet. But we have way to many Guards. We be having SGs at PF.
In a game right now, We have 4 guards and 1 6'6 SF on the court. The 6'6 SF is at C.

Have you guys ever had your coach change your positions during the season?

I just got done with a Media Session, and the question asked is whether my talents are being utilized properly in my current position and whether coaches have had plans to put me in at other spots.

I'm currently a backup SG for the Thunder (47?ovr), but have been getting a few minutes here and there at PG when RWB is out.

Should I be expecting a position change anytime soon?

on-ball steals are hard to do unless you have higher defensive stats(hustle, speed, quickness, hands, on-ball, steal)....playing the passing lanes is the best thing you can do until you get better from an attribute standpoint...

once your attributes are higher...holding turbo and using steal seems to work the best for me....and i still find that playing the passing lanes is the most easiest way to get steals(this includes defending the inbound pass)

i think he might be a permanent SG....that's how it was with me in chicago and derrick rose became a SG after he recovered from his broken ankle injury....

we split minutes at the PG during the second quarter but my player was the primary PG for the team

in the beginning of your career they play you out of position a lot.....

later on once you become a full-fledge starter or star player you will get more minutes at your primary position....in most cases, the only time they will play you out of position is if you're blowing out your opponent

Just had a GREAT game. MY first start in wake of CP3's injury. He still played. I had my first 10 assist game. 2 rebounds away of a Triple dub. It was a close game. I kinda gave up hope when we had to foul to win the game. But The CPU missed free throws and CP3 went off. He got a 3, Score is 99-98 CPU up. With 7 seconds I fouled Devin Harris. He missed both FTs. CP3 got the ball with 5 secs left; He ran down the court(He was still injuried)and hit a buzzer beat game winning 3pt shot. I was excited as hell.
Lucky to I only shot 29 % in the game. 101-99
I had 18-12-8 and only 2 TOs(season low) and the Player of the Game. Just got a interview saying I didnt have the ball in the final seconds. Im thinking if I had the ball We woulda lost.
