Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

I just got my first Triple-Double, I play off the bench too. CP3 hit a deep buzzer beating 3 at the end of the 3rd quarter to get me my 10th assist. I got 5 assists in the 1st Q.
I had 17-16-14. Most of my points came in the 2nd Half. We won in overtime. I only attempted 2 shots in the first half. I had 2 steals and 2 blocks. We almost had 7 players with 10+ points.

does anyone know how to do that pivot from the triple threat stance? i want to jab step and pivot the other direction...i've done it a few times but i dont know how to actually do it
are you talking about when youre in triple threat, and your player steps his non pivot foot 1 o clock towards his defendeR? if youre not i would like to know too, the jab step i saw in older 2k games is much better than the jab step in 2k11 since we can't use the jab step to create any space, only the animation does it which happens randomly I think

my players ball handling skills are only 78, but I use the step back iso move (LT+ RS down) which creates space and can go in either direction if you move forward afterwards, i've broken an ankle doing it and went straight to the cup for an and1, it was sick

okay pretend the non-pivot foot is the right foot...i would jab step with that foot then spin clockwise and go the other direction...that's what i meant

that is what i dont know how to do....a simple jab step in the 1 o'clock position is simple

is that an actual possible animation? do you actually move to the right then spin back or is just a jab step staying in triple threat into a spin clockwise?

i've jabbed stepped to the 1 oclock position then pulled the ball back so you have your back to the defender and spun out the closewise way. i've never seen that combo in a smooth animation tho. granted i'm only a week or so into playing

try to hold LT+ RS down that will make your player protect the ball than simply move in the opposite direction and you will spin out, it rarely frees you up when youre outside the perimeter unless you set a screen beforehand. if thats what youre talking about I do this all the time in the post, I post up as a SF and I face up in triple threat, than I do that and I end up shooting a high percentage sky hook, its great.

and does anyone know what the emotion stat does exactly? does it let your player get more superstar foul calls? or is it a useless stat?

again im not completely sure since i dont have the move down but it looks like the player is spinning back the other way and trying to get free...meaning he picks up his dribble and takes off

it's a very fluid animation but the cpu usually stops it due to the cheesy A.I. scheme and sucks your player into them

i'll try that...that sounds like what im talking about...although im doing it from the perimeter like you mentioned rather than after posting up and going into triple threat(im already in triple threat)

I just dropped my speed from 99 to 96. I got over five thousand sp. I will miss the speed, since I dont have any drills left. I didnt have to use Iso's at all. All I have to do is turbo and head to the basket.
I maxed my defense awareness. Currently my Overall is 61. My Defense is 87, but my Offense is 56-58. So now I dont have to worry about defense for a long time.
Dont know why, but it seems like I am waiting to improve my shooting last. I plan on Maxing vertical and stamina first. Then Hustle, Hands, Ball Security next. I plan on maxing Speed and Quickness using drills, but I dont have any left. They only come after every 4-7 games.

I might not ask for a trade from the Hornets. I am a PG. I planned on trading once I improved shooting. But, I didnt and don't plan to yet. I cant shoot at all. If I get injured I cant contribute at all.
Since I didnt improve my shooting/offense I dont get any(at all) ran towards me. So I only touch the ball and score when I am subbed at PG. David West is great in the paint/pick roll. Ariza dunks alot.
                        I want to leave because:
                        1. No plays for me
                        2. We have way to many Guards on the team, and not to many backup Big men. We give up a ton of paint scores. We have SG at PF and Ariza at C alot.
                        3. Only play at SG. I probably only get 5 mins at PG a game.
But, if I stay and dont improve my Overall too much, I can go to a rebuilding team. I dont want to risk trading to a team where I dont have a chance at starting/too many guards. I still gone to improve shooting. I am going to focus on the "little things" first.

i think i know what youre really talking about, i saw richard jefferson do it outside the perimeter, he jab stepped 1 o clock and spun the other way, lol, the one i was talking about was were you protect the ball and spin out of it. I think thee move youre thinking about can only be performed by the AI since I remember trying to go the other way when I jab step 1 o clock, but it never works.

yeah i've done it like twice...no clue what i pressed or what triggered the animation but it was pulled off...

btw, does anyone know if changing a player's tendency outside of my player effects the player inside the season of my player mode? i want to make cp3 more aggressive he's been playing like a complete wimp although he's injured, he's not playing like a superstar we just came off a 7 game losing streak lol finally won one, but the cp3 I know has to average 20/11 assist, he's only avging 12/9 assists.

i play with him in game and try to get him going alot but he takes so many bad shots and doesn't shoot the 3 whenever he's open. btw the association in my player mode is so sim, my team which is the hornets are 22-19 atm and in 5th or 6th in the west and the conference standings look almost uncanny to the real team's in the NBA.

you start off in triple threat, all you do is hold the left trigger and press the right stick away from the basket or your defender, that will cause your guy to do an animation were he turns his hips with the ball at chest level while keeping his pivot foot and he is protecting it from the defender. you can do that to protect the ball from getting it stolen or you can use it to try to spin off of your defender in either direction.
