    All-Star, Simulation, 12 Minutes

    Summary (Thus Far)

I played exeptional in the Pre-Career Things such as the summer league, Training camps ect. Averaged around 25 Points and 12 Rebounds. I found that I was a VERY good rebounder for a 6'5 Shooting guard. Even though I played well, i didn't expect to go very high, so i was surprised to go in the first round. As you could guess, my first season with the wizards didn't go very well. We lost our first 17 games, before finally beating the blazers by only a few (2 or 3 i think.) In that stretch, i didn't start, and averaged a little over 5 points and 6 rebounds on 17 minutes Looking at a looong season ahead, I considered requesting a trade. After seeing that EVERYONE Else is traded their first year. I decided to stick around and try to turn my rookie season around. I eventually became the starting shooting guard, and leading player in shooting percentage by all star weekend. I was invited to participate in the rookie-sophmore game, but a nagging ankle injury kept me from it, and about 10 games that year. nearing the end of my rookie year I had emerged as a great shooter and good scorer finishing with 15 points 9 rebounds per game. my 2 assists per game is what I was most upset about.
Although it was very frustrating being on a team that only won 19 games, the thing i hated most about Washington is the player makeup on the team, an-often injured Josh Howard that took 70% of the teams shots. (only making about 15% of them...) Gilbert Arenas Opting his 3pt game over his Drive to the rim Mentality, Dumb Personal Trades (Kirk Hinrich for Marcin Gortat, Javale McGee for Chris Duhon). John Wall Was my best friend, taking smart shots and dishing to open teamates rather than 'Josh Howard-ing'. He ended up edging me for Rookie of the year.

Then came the Off-Season. I first want to say, as much as I freaking LOVE My Player mode, I was dissapointed to see 2K didn't do anything to make the off-season better. Anyway... After everything simulated, Three teams had interest in me, not including the wizards, who, with the 1st pick in the draft, nabbed an 81 overall PF, But traded our leading scorer from the previous year, Andre Blatche, and apparently let go nick young. After seeing this, it cemented my time in D.C. and I wanted to move on.

Los Angeles, Boston, and Orlando. 3 Title Contenders. With LA Needing that one piece to get back the Championship after loosing it to heavily favored Miami in 7 games, I was In.

At the start of the 2011-2012 season, I took my gold #14 and was ready to be a force with LA. I was however prepared to come off the bench for Future H.O.F. Kobe Bryant. 1st Things first, The Lakers sent aging Point Guard Fisher and Lamar Odom to Phoenix to bring in the final part to mesh it all together. Steve Nash.
It was very surprising when I Started the first game at the small forward position, coming off a year where i didn't play SF. We started off very VERY Poorly only raking in 10 wins from 19 games. Then I was hit with a Severe ankle sprain. My team went on a 7 game winning streak in my absence, then, upon my return we rallied on to (What it is now..) a 41-21 record.
I am currently coming off the bench to play 3 positions, PG, SG, and SF. Not often PG because we have two-although not great in any particular category-Solid Rookie point guards.

Now, HERE. Is my problem. I don't know what it is, but I just cannot seem to knock down a 3 pointer for the life of me. My 3pt rating is 95, and I can't hit even the simplest wide open jumpers, sometimes even going as bad as 1-11!!!
Another thing to note is that I play for realism, i'm not a guy who aims for 50 a game in hopes of huge skill point numbers to take online. That's not where the fun is. as of now i'm averaging 19.8 points and 9.5 rebounds. (with 4.2 assists!!) It's also important to know that of our 62 games, i've only play 43. due to the darn ankle injury.

Much Appreciation to anyone who had the time and tolerance to read this. It really was very fun to type up, and I hope you can help me with my problem of not being able to hit my WIDE OPEN Threes.

Sorry for making it so long, and i'll keep you posted here and there if you like. =]
I was crazy enough, lol, to have read your entire post, but its cool.
As far as your 3pt shooting, it all depends on what signature style u like to use. There are so many to choose from. Do you like a quick release type shot (like Ray Allen) or do you like a shot that you elevate high (like Lebron James)? Or you can simply use the regular guard signature shot. I use Jordan's signature shot because I always like his release and plus I grew up watching him. Once you find that shot you are comfortable with, it's all about timing on shots. What I experienced is when your shots are contested, that timing window is smaller than an open shot, much like in the real game I guess. Check this link here :

That's my contested shot vid (excuse the choppiness, I am not sure why that uploaded so bad). For me to pull this shot off, I had to release it at the right time, which the window is smaller than say a wide open j. The closer your defender is to you, the smaller the window. I am still learning to the layups, contacted layups and dunks. I think open 3 point shot attempts have smaller windows then the medium range shots (just my thinking/experience on timing shots in this game)

    Hope that helps

Everytime I tried one of those pick up games everyone eventually left the game and I got nothing for it. I had to have tried 20 pick up games and none ever went the full game. I left online alone after that.

I stick to Crew Games. But I have a bunch of IRL friends that are in with me on that.

You should try them, they're very fun and its satisfying to win a hard faught game against real people.

My MyPlayer is a PF/SF, I got drafted by the Nets (yay) and was put into their main roster as key player right off the bat.

In the games they tend to keep calling the same plays. For example, I had a really bad shooting night once. But my team constantly wanted to run a play which would always put me into an isolated position on the left side of the basket at mid range with almost no time left on the shot clock.
So each time I had to jack up some contested shot, with no time to back my defender down towards the basket before the clock ran out and had a horrible FG% because of that.
Option #2 would have been to just try to freelance, but thats not good because then my teammates would just have waited for me to continue the set play and would just have stood around without moving.

Another thing: When I got drafted by the Nets they had 5 PFs. Two of which rated 78 and 79. And I get 18 minutes in that rotation without any great stats either as an 49 ovr rated player ? They make it almost too easy for me. The only thing I do really well in MyPlayer is playing off the ball and D (first defensive matchup against Lebron -> I block him > ).

Also very intersting are the low FG% that both teams constantly put up. Best example so far: Heat(35%) - Nets(38%). (not from 3, from the field...).

So far to me, MyPlayer seems a bit ... raw. Much to work on, still.
2k10 had a better team FG%...i relied heavily on chris bosh's midrange game and andrea bargnani's three point threat when i was with the raptors

not sure what happened with 2k11 this year in that regard

the best thing you can do really is to correct the games error by compensation...meaning allowing less jumpers and attacking inside more....after a few baskets inside you can then dish them the ball outside for perimeter shots(hit them in stride)

they need to drastically make the off-season a bit more interesting....and since they took the pre-season out of the game(madden has like mini-camps and practice during their pre-season) it just makes the off-season relatively short...

So being a floor general means you PGs don't have to worry about that holding the ball too long penalty right?
you can still get flag for it...but the game usually allows it to prolong if you're setting up a play....if you just ISO and run around with the ball in your hand and dwindle down the clock without ever calling for a play you will get docked for ball hogging...

as for other positions...with the floor general status...you can call plays...you just dont have the play menu like PG's(stupid mishap really)...it's more of a memory game with other positions....but once you call the play you have to give the ball back to your current PG on the court at the time since all plays on the offense are ran through that son of a gun....

i think it's more so of the passing angles and smart decision that determines your turnover ratio....but i mean if you're heaving the pass all over hell and gone that are of lengthy distances then you might want to increase the passing attribute just to be safe

When calling plays, are they more advanced plays like the ones found in the playbooks from the main menu? Im so sick and tired of 15 post 2/12 straight, etc. lol.

you have like 4(or 5?) plays for each position on the floor along with simple quick plays

Thank god.. I need to get my floor general back. It would make the game so much better when calling more unique plays and at least I can choose which plays to run for hot handed players. Thanks Enigma

im not sure how you're going to remember all of those plays though

since you're like pressing the button without any visible menu to direct you....

you first press right on the d-pad...then i think it's R1 to flip through each position(the default screen is the quick play) and you press the corresponding buttons for each play(square, circle , triangle, and x)...i dont remember if there were any other assigned buttons for play but i know they make the use of those primary 4 buttons

Im assuming the play art goes on, and trust me, if i get that back, i will learn the plays and i will use a variety of them depending on who the opponent is and tailor to my teams strengths. I had a horrible season with the bucks so with the jazz now, im looking to compete in playoffs.

just in case playcalling as a floor general isnt team/position/coach dependent(if anyone can verify this by playing a game and calling all these plays to see if they match then it would be great; only thing is that you cant be on the kings, a PG or have gregg popovich as a coach)...this might be useful for those who arent a PG and dont have the play menu

press right on the d-pad and make your play selection from there...then give the ball back to your PG to let him run the play

It seems like if a CPU puts my teammates in a Low Post, They will score 9/10 times.

All these real life trades are making it hard not to restart My Player.
I dont mind the Carmelo trade. But the Deron Williams trade affects both of my My Players. One is on the Nets and one was on the Jazz.
