Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
i love your guys suggestions and i hope that 2k does develop the myplayer mode more. i think there are still plenty of areas that can be improved.
now to keep it relevant to our thread, this little sequence was from last week, good defense leads to easy offense

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Dwight just returned from his injury on my SF my player. me and hi were ballin against the Spurs. he put up 22 points but i only had 14 since they would not run plays for me. arenas just kept running plays to Jason Richardson for 3's and Richardson finished the game 1-12 from 3 and was 0-5 in the 4th alone. we lost 77-80 and i pretty much blame our 3 point shooting. as a team we were 2-23, my 3 point rating is only 40 so i dont shoot any, its the rest of my team, mainly Arenas and Richardson that just jack up stupid 3's and dont hit.
as i play more with the team will they start running plays for me? because me and dwight are the only ones that actually shoot good percentage, in the loss to spurs i was 5-8 from the field, but yet in the 4th they just ran plays to richardson the whole time who had a terrible percentage
I know the pain of plays not being run for me. Hang in there.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
On fast breaks when it's like 3 on 2, what I do is run a circuit under the basket out to a corner. Occasionally I'll get the pass, and even with a 40 in 3pt I drain that shot 50% of the time. Helps that I've mastered the timing of a catch n' shoot. The only real inadvisable 3pt shot without having invested points into it are the ones you have to think about shooting.

im just used to playing mostly PG and for PG they give you the ball right away so you pretty much always have it and they let you have it whenever you call for itComment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Wow...
Just finished playing the Spurs.
My Heat started hot, and was up by 5 at the end of 1.
We then suddenly got cold, and were outscored by 22 in the 2nd, down 17 at the half, on Superstar, not looking good.
They scored 2 more points, and we were down a game high 19 pts.
I brought it to with in 2 points with 11 minutes left in the 4th! They sat me until 6 minutes to go, and we were down 7. I had to score constantly, and with 5 seconds left I shot and swished the inbound 3 to tie it at 120! They missed a buzzer beater contested 3, it was going to OT!
I got fouled driving, made the 2 free throws, stole the inbound pass and got fouled on an and-1 dunk, made the free throw. Up 5 points, and ended up winning by 8!
My final stat line: 81pts, 15reb, 12ast, 5stl, 1blk
Teammates: Wade (3-15 shooting) LeBron (6-16 shooting) Bosh (6-11 shooting) Oneal (1-5 shooting) Chalmers (1-6 shooting). Teammates were just terrible except Bosh, who only dunked off my assists.
Their team was unrealistically good, guess that's what a good team does on Superstar. Duncan (who is very old, its 2013) scored 31, Parker had 28, and some Anderson guy had like 40, off of 70% shooting, making fadeaway 3s all day.
This was the biggest comeback in my player for me.
Down by 19, end up winning in ot by 8!
We had like a 21-6 run late in the game, that's what I'm talking about!
That game put my team 1st in the conference at 12-5.
That was the first exciting game i've played in a while, too bad I had to do it on my own, despite the fact that I have Wade and LeBron, but man, LeBron did choke again, but he is still good most of the time, so it's ok, he is amazing on All-star though, no one can always be good on Superstar, as I found out the hard way.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
I just demanded (and got) my first trade. I am a 6'3 shooting guard and was drafted by the Rockets who are stacked at that position (Kevin Martin, Courtney Lee etc) so I wasn't getting much PT despite putting up nice numbers so I demanded a trade. I decided to be a real A-hole about it and answered all of my questions at Houston with arrogance or indifference then once my trade went through to Washington I answered my first 3 questions with 'loyalty'.
The Wizards were 0-12 when I arrived and we are 2-1 in my first three games there. It's such a pleasure playing with John Wall on my team as he always finds me and he has been putting up 14+ assists most nights and doesn't chuck up stupid shots like Kyle Lowry used to.
I went from being a role player on the rockets getting 14mins pg to the sixth man role on the Wizards getting 26mpg behind Nick Young who I should be able to overtake for the starting role pretty quickly though he has been playing great for us so far.Comment

I did notice last game that once I got hot (i ended up going 8-13 from 3 for with a career high 46 points) the cpu subbed Nick Young into the SF spot and me at the 2 with Wall at the point which was a nice team and we were scoring at will.
One thing I thought was funny that even though I was putting up nearly 20ppg in 16 mins per game for the Rockets and was picked number 14 in the draft they traded me to Wizards straight up for Hamady N'Diaye.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
In my game Lewis is out for 6-8 weeks with a broken back so I haven't had to play with him yet. Josh Howard has been surprisingly not too annoying as I though he would be a chucker but he's been pretty good so far.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
The Clippers straight up traded me (a PG) to the Heat for Juwan Howard, in my first season. Now, in my second season I'm now averaging 57.5 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 13.9 APG, and 3.7 SPG after winning rookie of the year and Finals MVP. If I was a Clippers fan I'd want the GM dead.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Just started my new My Player since it's the summer and Im bored. The dude I made is a 6'8 athletic SF. Im trying to pump up his rebounding and defense before really worrying about offense. I dont have any trouble scoring with him tho. He has no shot or anything but I live off of putbacks and close to the goal-trash baskets. Just averaged about 18 ppg and 8 rpg in the pre draft camp and got drafted 2nd round pick 1 by NJ.Comment

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)
Finally showed up on the MVP list. Behind Kobe and Lebron.
One of the saddest things I have seen is how Dirk's shooting has dropped off a cliff. We're talking nights of 8/28. It's borderline ridiculous. Especially since the offense runs through him. When I joined the team 6 games into the season, he was leading the league in ppg. Since then, lucky to get mid-20s, which I guess is normal for him. Luckily, I'm consistently putting up 30+ (season high of 49, intentionally bricked a late FT [in a 20+ point win] so I wouldn't get 50 cause the game wasn't a key game), and combined with a sudden lockdown defense (raising steal to 99 was one of the best investments early, I get 3-5 steals per game and double that in poking balls out, stopping a fast break or taking a guy off his dribble) and we're probably the best team in the league.Comment

Anyone else having issue with freezing on MyPlayer? Everytime I play it freezes up and I have to start all over. I even deleted all the files and I still have this issue.Comment
