    Re: NBA 2K11 IGN Review

I haven't even touched everything in this game yet. I have practiced mostly, and ran a few games but from the short time of me playing I can say that this is best b-ball game of all time. That review was pretty good, but like others have said, his complaints about passing and My Player mode is what I don't agree with.

      Awesome and well deserved.
Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.

There are many teams who are very under control in an extremely up-tempo offense. Is he saying that NBA2k11 is unable to recreate that experience? Help me out here.

I think players like Nash and Kidd and Rondo, who ROUTINELY make cross-court passes, especially in the fastbreak game, should also be faithfully represented in the game.

I wonder how the Showtime Lakers will play in 2k11? Will it truly be Showtime?
A standard fastbreak is either a series of short passes or one big pass. You can still make one big pass but you usally need a combo of a bad shot, a long rebound, and a quick run out. If you try a big pass without something like this I dont care if itsPayton Manning is throwing its easy to defend. Ive seen one issue with the fastbreak and it may be related to the slow big men. You rarely have that extra guy on the break because bigs dont hit their running lane. They also don't get back on defense so a fastbreak is usually just two on two or two on one or one on one with bigs trailing.

It seemed too much for my taste.

I want to play the game come Oct. 5 with me not knowing EVERYTHING the game has to show you (except for gameplay footage).

Great review, definitely a monumental game for 2K and it could be in the running for GOTY on IGN, without a doubt Sports Game of the Year. There will also be some awesome mods as well in the next few months, so it's just going to get better.

I just got done playing at a buddy of mines and I left his house just at awe. I actually didn't want to leave his house but I had to put my daughter to bed.

Back to 2k.....to be honest and in my own opinion, I would probably give this game a 9.7 9.8......the only issues I really have is the walking animation that was removed(gave it an authentic feel) and the bigs looking like guards rebounding sometime but other than that this game is great. You immediately can tell that this game is gonna give anyone who isn't a true basketball player problems......there is no more cheese......no lead passing issues....just great basketball. Players all play true to life and the classic teams are great.....I could go on and on but I'm gonna go to sleep like a kid on Xmas eve and hope mines gets here In the morning. Goodnight fellow OS members and enjoy the game.

2k is here to stay for a while

Looks like imma be putting all other games to the side and focusing on The Association and My Player mode with some online sprinkled in. This should keep me bust till this time next year.

Sure, there are a few mishaps along the way. Don Nelson looks like a melted marshmallow and Kobe looks like an alien
We've been saying this about kobe since his first screens in 2K10 came out, people say they listen to us,but this is such a glaring detail that none of the devs will address. He's the best player in the NBA - take some time, SIT with your artist and stay there until he gets it right. Same with Jordan.

I work with Maya and other software, we are at the point where we can get it 100% identical to real life. No excuses.

Also, I can't believe the tip passes/steals when a players back is turned is still in there. The most frustrating times are those, and a simple script code of "Player facing forward cannot steal ball behind him" logic would fix it after so many years.

kobe is spot on, i dont know what anyone is thinking he is not, the only thing thats wrong with him is his eyes, he looks like he haven't slept or is on meth.

his eyes just need to be a bit smaller,

                      don nelso, idc, he's gone.

erik spolestra looks like a fat boy

                      they need to fix him.

Glad to see the score, but "BEST game of our generation???????"

...it's going to be HARD to beat out MLB 10: The Show ... I'm sorry, but a 9.5 (I sure hope so), but it's gonna come under hard fire.

A lot of us man -- cause of 2k - I know damn near every player in the leagues name. And it helps you appreciate the pressures those guys feel in the game. Good quality for a video game .. I'll givce em that. Inspite of all the complaints .. as a whole - it always feels like a bball gm. imo at least.

I can't stand how much the CPU plays the passing lanes in fast breaks, that part of the game needs patchwork, but with that said...9.5 or higher should be the score.

NBA 2K11 and MLB The Show should be the new gold standard for sports games. The improvements from year to year by those 2 games prove that it is possible to make a better product every year. No more excuses. The bar has been raised.
