I honestly wish you could turn the "A" portion of play running off.

It's really distracting plus it doesn't work how I would expect the feature to work.

You see "A" you press "A" and the ball goes to who you are facing. That doesn't make sense. It's there to help out casual play callers... but it doesn't help out casual play callers.

Agreed. Took a few games to get it into my head that pressing A does not throw the ball to that player. Have to bring up Icons well in advance to have it ready to fire off a pass.

I have been playing sports video games for a long time, and I would have to say this could be the best sports game I have ever played. 2K has done a fantastic job! EA should not even bother to put out there product this year. Great job 2K!!

Agreed. Took a few games to get it into my head that pressing A does not throw the ball to that player. Have to bring up Icons well in advance to have it ready to fire off a pass.

Just thought about it:

I might start using the Passing stick in these situations and see how that goes...

Yeah, sounds like the exact same system from Live 10... that always annoyed me in that game as well. I started using the stick for passing in that game and it seemed to help with quick ball movement in plays with 2-3 passes especially.

I really love that zone D actually works this year. Playing w/ Bulls vs Heat, plenty of tipped passes from the effective zone D. That also should help cut down on the cheese, zone flat out sucked last year.

Got my copy of the game on PS3 this morning I am absolutely loving it. I've tested out the Spurs, Suns, Heat and Wizards so far. It's really cool how all the teams play the way they do in real life and the commentary is incredible this year.

Control is so much better this year.

Atmosphere is sick, especially the playoff atmosphere in the Jordan Challenges. The cuts to crowd after big buckets adds a lot of immersion.

AI plays a lot better than I am used to. No cheap lead passes for easy layups. CPU runs plays and executes plays very well.

Presentation and commentary are amazing, superb even; especially the era specific commentary. I know Kevin Harlan had fun recording that stuff, it sure as hell sounds like he did.

The Jordan Challenge is an amazing mode and very fun. I gotta say I didn't think it was going to be this good. I usually just play quick, league and association games and stay away from all the other modes, but this too fun to avoid.

I have yet to play with regular teams. The classic squads are too much fun. Only gripe of course as mentioned before are the incomplete rosters for the classic teams. Can't wait til somebody does the work for me and uploads it to alleviate that issue.

This is easily the best game of video basketball I've played just from the few hours I've had it.

Fun, yet frustrating. That's how I would sum up my experience so far. Me Nugs vs. cpu Knicks all-star sim.

Fun: Melo working the mid range.
Frustrating: Gallinari can defend like Gary Payton in his prime.

Fun: Nene abusing Stoudemire with shimmies, fades, up and unders.
Frustrating: Sometimes I try to post up and my player simply won't post up. LT+RT works when it wants to.

Fun: Freeing up JR with an icon lead pass for an open 3.
Frustrating: Nobody will hit a 3 unless it's a play call. NBA players can knock down open shots regardless of whether a play is called or not.

Fun: Doing a quick cross and getting Ty Lawson to the bucket.
Frustrating: Seeing a quickness mismatch but Ty can't get by Turiaf.

Fun: Using proper angles on passes. No blindly throwing the ball up the floor.
Frustrating: They over did it with the deflections. If defenders were really that aggressive they'd get back doored all day.

This game plays like a dream! I will not hit a game situation until I run numerous practices with my Knicks. knowing all the plays I will run and getting used to their offense. I can already see that my association is going to be a tough one but the challenge will be an experience.

Amare = BEAST

Randolph = Rebound greatness and all around scrapper

Gallinari = 3!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chandler = I am still trying to figure out this guys game. His mid to long range jumper is suspect but I know he has potential.

Felton = He's decent but is he a floor general?..........this will be left to be seen.

I am loving what I am seeing on my bench though. My bench guys are hungry!

Oh, is that what that is? Ha, I didn't know it was an A. I just thought it was an icon telling me to pass it to that guy. My eyes suck though so that might explain it. Probably why I never made this mistake. I was really confused with what people were talking about earlier in this thread.

As a Suns fan, I'm not too impressed with the sim results. Suns will be much better than 31-51. Also, Nash nowhere to be found in the top five in assists?! C'mon. Amare averaging 10.8 rebounds for the Knicks? I don't think so. Heat only 48-34? I'd love it but it won't happen.
