The game is very good.

There are significant mistakes in the commentary such as calling made shots missed and calling a steal before it happens.

I think they'll eventually be able to fix the custom audio for ps3 with a patch, pc users get no love though...

What is wrong with the custom music for ps3????

Pros:

Random games online feel great. Cheese is still rewarded to an extent, but largely easy to counter. I love that you can now use a jumpshot timing indicator across all modes. That helps soooo much when using random teams.

I also really love the off-ball controls, the total control passing and on-the-fly payer lock are great tools.

Of course, the overall package is just ridiculous. I've never seen so much improvement in a year. This will gwt mainstream GOTY mentions.

Cons:

Don't like how deliberate and unresponsive some moves are, I hate the overboard passing lane stalking, and the momentum engine is more powerful than ever. Was playing a friend who really didn't understand the controls...got up about 12 points, and then could not hit a shot no matter the range or play call. Shot bricks for the whole second quarter until he finally caught up. Then like magic, everything goes back to normal, lol. hate that. Expect very low scores if your opponent sucks.

Quick Impressions

The graphics in this game are beautiful. The colors in this game really pop out at you, and red is not pink this year. 2K did a fantastic job with sid animations for players. Pippen's jumper is just beautiful. This will win sports game of the year. The amount of detail put into this game is unmatched by any game before. Great job 2K.

I just want to ask to those who has the gane already is how are the sneakers? Aside from the AJ's are there alot of selections? Any old school shoes that you can use let's say for Kemp of the 95 Knicks?

wow thanks for all the impressions guys, i cant wait to seehow this game gets reviewed by the critics, but i definatly WONT be buying the game until i get myself a new tv:o

man i need a new tv too. been meaning to ask for a while, does anyone have any tips? i don't know thaaat much about tvs just that my current one doesnt do 2k11 justice lol

I'm curious about the playcalling. Am I missing something I see the A button on a player and it passes to a totally diff guy are u suppose to hold a to hit that highlighted guy

Wow what can I say....I played a few online games... from the jump...didn't even hit the practice court. First guy I play tried to throw so many stupid passes into the lane. He didn't score until the end of the 2nd quarter. He had the Lakers and I had the Thunder. While he was going one on one every single time. I was running the Thunders set to perfection. Durant finished with 13, Green had 9 and Westbrook with 5. The defense is amazing. Some people are going to complain at first. But this is a major face lift for the 2k series.

But on to the second game. I start the game. Thinking like the pass 2k's that I had to change my camera view. (Also not remembeing that I didn't have to do it for the first game.) And it hit me......Online setting save!!!!
Online they have much user friendly unranked lobby system. I didn't experience any lag with last night. And they were about 6,000+ online. We truly won't know until later tonight when everyone will be on. But regardless its a good start.

I still haven't touched the MJ thing. But the way the game starts is such a surprise the first time you turn the game on. Its totally amazing.

They are a few negatives I notice not game breakers at all. Those bummp animation get over used at times. Feels like they happen too much. I had some trouble hitting jumpshots online for some reason. But I'll work through it. Custom tracks not working on the PS3 (not shuffling).

agreed, this game is very sharp, I think players models are best I have seen in awhile in any sports game.

Loving the game. Playing as MJ, Pip, etc against some of the great teams who actually play like themselves is mesmerising. I'd prefer if quarter lengths for Jordan Challenge weren't just locked in at 8 minutes though. Maybe that's just to make it more of a challenge.

Minor gripe (apart from long sock glitch) would be that layups still seem to be high. I'm playing on PS3, so maybe it's an older version like others have mentioned. I thought Mike Wang said it had been fixed, but they still seem too high. Maybe somebody else with PS3 version who also played the demo can confirm whether this is the case. I am in PAL region, although it shouldn't be any different of a version since all PS3 games are region free.

Overall, head & shoulders the best 2k I've played. I love the individuality of the Bird's & McHale's & Worthy's. I love that I have to double team McHale on the post every time, otherwise he destroys me.

It's a crying shame I'll have to avoid playing the Jordan Challenge properly until decent bench rosters come out so it can be played properly. Would also like to play on 12 minute quarters, so I don't have to feel like I'm being a cheese by giving it to MJ everytime down the court. How else can you score 63 points in 8 minute quarters?

Picked up my copy for the PS3 at 12, got home a 12:05. Needless to say I'm loving the game so far, I'm seeing so many different animations, it's crazy. Sitting here at my desk falling asleep, didn't go to bed until 2am, thanks 2k lol.

WOW! just had one of the best games ever in my 2k history. me Lakers vs spurs. i start the game struggling as usual. cant hit the broadside of a barn. after 1 the spurs are up by 11. Duncan is killing me and the spurs feed him everytime down the floor. at the half im down 9 and Duncan has 17. its 42-33.

3rd quarter is more the same, although Kobe is my leading scorer, he is building a house with his bricks. after 3 im down 61-48 (12 min quarters). its looking like a L tonight in San Antonio for the Lakers. but finally i start figuring things out. i finally learn the release of Artests and Gasol's Jumper. suddenly, Ron is hot and Nailing every 3 he shoots. Kobe comes back in and is getting to the hoop with ease. its now 81-80, down by one. I isolate kobe at the top of the key but they send the double team, i pass it to Bynum and then i see a wide open Ron Artest at the 3pt line. i swing the ball his way........he pulls up for the shot and........................SWISH!!!!! IT GOES IN!!!! Lakers lead 83-81 with 12 seconds to go! im happy as a pig in s**t!!!

Spurs brick thier final attempt and i jump for joy! my first W. simulation/All Star.

I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!
