Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Started with the Raps, currently in the midst of the season opener, the year when marcus jordan and sim bhuller are rookies.
Don't remember all the transactions, but I'll post the ones I can remember.
Starters:
Jose!
Barbosa
Demar
Perry Jones (2011 Pick: 2 Round:1)
Bargs
Bench
6: Amir Johnson
7: Jerryd Bayless
8: Ray Allen (FA Mid-level.)
9:Linas Kleiza
10:Quincy Douby! Jk, Quincy Miller, 1st overall 2012. (Nik: Apocalypse boy!)
11: THE Marcus Jordan (Ed Davis, 5,6 overall past draft)
12: Sim Bhuller (10 overall, past draft, (7'4!!! God!!))
Forget the reserves atm.
Play on sim/pro. Should I bump it to All Star?
Raptors vs. Nets: 1st half: Very close game, 52-51 Raptors. Half comparison; Wilson Chandler (Nets), 7-8-4-2, Andrea Barngani (Raptors) 10-3-5-0-3. Demar has 15.
3rd Quarter: Chandler airs a [pretty much] open 3, LOLed. Derozan starts heating up, hitting 4-5 to start out the 3rd, including a 3 or two. Calderon picks Harris' pocket, fast break ensues, there's one defender seperating Jose and Derozan, Jose lobs it up anyways to Derozan WHO'S IN FRONT OF HIM, who jams it. Led by 16 at one point, 85-74 going into the 4th. Demar led everyone with 35 in 35. Nets started to come back, getting the lead down to 2. With 7:17 left, they tie it up. 4:42, Farmar hits a go-a-head 3. Minute later, Amir Johnson gets a clutch block on lopez, then Jordan increases the lead to 3. 2/12 mins. left, even though he's not fully ready, I put back in Demar for crunch time, who has 41 points at this point (I'm a beast with him, I average about 35).
1 minute left, D Harris tries to drive by Jose, but Bargs has none of that, pushing the shot back down. Next defensive possestion, Favors gets stripped, Demar vs. 0, throws it down. 35 secs. left, Shannon Brown (New Jersey? Really?) hit's a clutch 3, 102-105 Raptors. Derozan would than hit 1/2 from the line with under 15 seconds left, to give a Raps a two possesion lead, 102-106. Bargs would hit 2 free throws, 102-108, and they wouldn't look back, winning 110-102. Derozan would finish with 46."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Chicago Bulls
Decided not to restart and do a 30, for those of you that care.
Anyway it was the trade deadline.
My two main needs were size (traded Kurt Thomas for Daequan Cook earlier in the season), and a scorer at the 2.
After messing around for a little I finally got a deal with the woeful 76ers.
Chicago Receives
J. Meeks [64 OVR]-1yr, 762K
T. Battie [56 OVR]-1yr. 1.35M
'11 2nd Round Pick
'12 2nd Round Pick
76ers Receive
K. Bogan [67 OVR]-1yr, 1.25M
'12 1st Round Pick
J. Lucas III [48 OVR]-1yr, 699K
Thoughts?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I then proceeded to play the Spurs. I got ROCKED. The only bright spot was Jodie Meeks shooting the lights out. Only one game but the trade looks to have payed off, I don't know yet whether I will be starting Brewer or Meeks.
During the game Luol Deng went out with injury. Severe ankle sprain 2-4 weeks.
Right now my team looks like:
Rose/Watson
Meeks/Brewer/Cook
Deng/Korver/Johnson/Green(NBDL)
Boozer/Gibson/Scalabrine
Noah/Asik/Battie
I also played the all-star game. I controlled the East and I changed the sliders to 'casual' for a more enjoyable/all-star experience. I only had one player in the game, D. Rose. I controlled the East and one, it was something like 145-120.
Rajon Rondo was the MVP and his stats were:
16pts, 0 reb, 11 ast, 8 stlChicago Bulls
Chicago Bears

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
The only problem with him is his defense and he is a bit to skinny and weak against bigger guards. So he gets overpowered sometimes.
Personally evan turner with wesley johnson makes my team deadly from the mid range and from the 3.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
So im in my 5th season now and fisher retired and Jeremy lin (73) is now my starting point guard, with sun yue (61)as my back up.
Was thinking of trading for jerry baydless or eric maynor, theyre not to expensive but not yet a star. Would become good if develop either one. I do have my mid level still available and my 1st round and 2nd round. What do you guys think?
Any ideas other than jerry baydless or eric maynor.Comment

I like the trade, Meeks never will be a star but he gives you the threat the bulls lack and that is a shooter.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Is there any way to turn the trade deadline off? I'm beyond the deadline in my association, and I'm going to have to start all over now unless there's a way to get that Orlando Magic trade in. Guess I'll have to sim the first 50 games to get where I am now. Smh.
I play with my Heat, and the playoffs would be no fun without getting that Orlando move in.Comment

L. Mbah a Moute
Grizzlies trade:
Hasheem Thabeet
Tony Allen
Bucks Trade:
Drew Gooden
Bulls Trade:
K. Korver
K. Bogans
'11 first round pick
1. Robinson/A.Parker/G.Dragic
2. A.Parker/T.Allen/Korver (not sure who to start.)
3. Maggette/Korver/K.Adams
4. Garnett/Thabeet/K.Adams/M.Allen/S.Williams
5. Bogut/Thabeet/M.Allen

Any suggestions of what I should to with my line-up?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Started a thunder association. Wanted to keep harden, durant, green and ibaka core together. But i figured id make a few tweaks in the roster.
I traded away Daequan cook and dj white for jeremy lin and louis amundson.
Why i think the warriors will do this. They recently signed acie law because jeremy lin aint doing ****. They are also plagued by injury from there big men. Daequan cook doesnt get much mins int he thunder with there log jam at the sg positions and the warriors themselves has ellis and charlie bell at sg and youd think the warriors want to go younger with there sg and pf.
Since dj white is a defensive specialist, keith smart would love him as a player.
Why the thunder will do this
They get a young pg who is a fast break scorer type of pg. Lin would fit in well with the thunder.
They also get a mid age pf who will show some defensive intensity and could be an asset for trade.
They also get rid of the logjam at sg position since they do have 4 sgs, but now they would have 4 pfs instead of 3
Now to the next concern was a big man. I figured id target roy hibbert of the pacers. In order to get him i decided to do this trade.
Nenad Krstic (1 yr 5.80m left), Cole ALriidch rookie for thunder (4 year rookie contract), Royal ivey (2 years 2.40m) and 1st round pick
for
Roy hibbert (c 2 years left on his rookie contract) James posey (sf 2 years 13.40mill contract left) and aj price (pg 2.40 mill 2 years left)
Why i think both sides will do this.
Why the thunder will do this
The thunder needs a big man that is young and would fit it nicely with the thunder and i think hibbert is the man for that. They also need a back up sf for durant who could be a 3 point threat / vet presence. Which posey would fit in nicely. AJ PRICE WOULD JUST BE A FILLER TO MAKE THE CONTRACTS MATCH.
Why the pacers would do this
They have danny granger and paul george at there sf taking up most mins. They would get rid of james poseys high paying contract 13 mill for 2 years off there books. They krstic another white center who is in his contract year 5.80 mill and a new rookie WHITE center who has potential to thrive in larry birds team. They also get royal ivey whos proven to be a good role player to play behind darren collison. Since they are unhappy with tj ford and will most likely trade him as well.
For a rebuilding pacers i think they would do this because they would save some money in the long run and get a lot younger. Yeah they are losing roy hibbert but he seems to not fit in well with danny granger and seems to be getting injured here and there. Plus we know larry bird likes WHITE GUYS
Now my 2nd concern is a back up center for hibbert. Bj mullen is just not cutting it and wiht the trades i made i do have
4 pgs Westbrook, Maynor, Lin, and Aj price.
4 pfs. Jeff Green, Serge Ibaka, Amundson and Nick Collison.
As much as i want Nick Collison out of this team, He is a fan favorite and he does hustle. Plus his new reconstructed contract pays him 13 mill this year, so no way anyone would want him id have to wait till next year to trade him.
I put aj price , louis amundson and bj mullens in trading block and i got this offer from the grizzlies.
Them 3 and a 2nd round pick for thabeet.
Why i think both teams would do this.
Thunder will do this because they are all obviously a young team and are in dire need of a backup center for hibbert. Thabeet fits perfectly. He doesnt need to make a big impact and wouldnt have the same amount of pressure he has in grizzlies because they are all young and developing. Who knows thunder might develop thabeet nicely with the way theyre staff is.
Grizzlies will do this because Thabeet has been a bust. He cant seem to thrive in grizzlies because they already have a main center that theyre developing. They say hes improving but his numbers show otherwise. Hes already been put in the dleague and there are talks off putting him back on there.
THey get louis amundson who hustles and could be an insurance policy to zach randolph if he gets injured or decides to opt out next season.
Bj mullens, hes a player in the thunder that is a rookie this year but was the 24th pick. We know the grizzlies want a young 7'0 center that they could develop behind gasol.
Plus they also get a 2nd round pick which the grizzlies love for some odd reason.
So far my lineup looks like this
Pg - Russel Westbrook, Eric maynor, Jeremy lin
Sg - James harden, thabo sefolosha, morris peterson (expiring 6.64 mill contract)
sf - Kevin durant , James Posey
pf - Jeff Green, Serge Ibaka, NIck Collison
C - Roy hibbert, Hasheem Thabeet.
I dont have my 1st or 2nd round pick for this next year but i do have 2012's 1st round and 2nd round still and i still have my mid level exception.
My roster stands at 13, thinking of signing rafer alston, larry hughes and jarvis hayes eventually for the mid level.
I want to get rid of morris peterson for someone useful. If i have to sign 2 out of those 3 to package him with peterson id do it. But for now im trying to figure out who to get.
Give me your opinions. Who would fit in with this new thunder team i made.
Doesnt have to be a star, i need a role player and id prefer no pg's and a young guy. So i can develop them.
Give me opinions on trades or what i did wrong. Or some feedback on what ive done wrong or right. Would be coo to get some insight and and outside povLast edited by mistamike; 12-24-2010, 12:44 AM.Comment

Garnett has a lost quite a few steps and will continually go down hill. He is getting up there in age and he might retire on you fast. So beware of that.
If you want a pg to make bogut have an allstar season, why not go after a pass first mentality pg.
You could probably find a better trade than that. Why go older when you can younger you know?
John salmons might be streaky but he is good, and getting rid of L. Mbah a Moute is not ideal for a center who was a bust in the draft and a bust in the league, and a sg whos is getting up there with age and is in downhill. Yeah he is a defensive specialist but that totally just hurts your team.
with the drew gooden trade you lose size with your 4, yeah youd get a 1st round pick but in reality i dont think bulls would do that trade. They like korverComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Well the reason i traded for jeremy lin is because he is young and i like his style of play. Fits in well with the thunder. Plus i dont need a 1st string or 2nd string pg.
I already got westbrook and maynor for that. The reason i like lin is because i can develop him, i like his hustle and his mid range shot. Works nice.Comment
