Amar'e dropped 53 on the Nuggets in an OT thriller last night. Game was tied at 106 at the end of regulation, NY went on a 13-6 run with Eddy Curry scoring seven straight points to ice the win. Carmelo had 43 in a losing effort. Landry Fields added 27 for the Knicks.

question: Does Steve Nash always retire after the 1st year?

Curious because when i restart I'd like to possibly trade for him, I dont want to if hes preset to hang up his nikes.

Last 2 games got my arse handed to me 111-103 by LAL, and 103-101 by DET. Sputtering a little, currently in 5th place in EC. There've been alot of trades in the past 3 weeks and i'll recap those just for the hell of it.

The NBA landscape has changed dramatically and we're not even in January. A little too much for my taste but i allow CPU trades.

I suggest you GET RID OF ANDERSON, move Randolf to backup center, and move up Amir. If you don't score with your 4 like me, Amir is great, he can rebound, plays great defense, might be a little injury prone, but he has some great athletism.

Wise words my friend, i haven't really played Amir much but that makes sense. I'm about to trade Anderson for a 2nd rnd pick and get rid of his ugly arse lol. Do you run with TOR also?

Just a tip I thought I'd throw out there, a lot of times it's best not to have 11-12 potential starters on your roster. In real life, most NBA teams usually go 10 deep at most. As an example, the Knicks only run an 8 man rotation.

The reason I say this is because it's better to keep your rotations smaller so that you can get the most out of your players and the amount of minutes they play, because instead of playing a bench guy 8-10 minutes, you can play him 15-20 and give him a better chance to contribute and get hot.

Hopefully I'm not the only one, but I was tired of trying to play 10min, 82 game Association seasons so I switched to a 5min quarter (6 sim) and 29 game season and so far I am having a BLAST! With the sim quarters down, everyone is on the same level stat-wise and the games are just good solid contests for 20 minutes.

Started the season 6-1 so far, with my only loss coming on a Hoopcast Sim game 59-42 thanks to Dwight Howard. I have decided to play 15 and sim 14 using Hoopcast and make the substitutions and sim strategy because I feel like it will put more importance on how I build up my personnel and not just how I play. So far I am 3-0 playing the games and 3-1 using hoopcast sim.

                Overall Team Rating: 85
                Starting Line-up:
                PG - Derron Williams
                SG - Jason Terry

                C Joel Pryzbilla
                SG Anthony Morrow

Only move so far has been a dissatisfied Kyle Korver for some size inside with Joel Pryzbilla.
Hopefully I'm not the only one who plays 5 min quarters for association in order to play multiple seasons.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Since I couldnt settle on an association and was growing bored with My Player... I decided to combine the two. Started one with my hometown Bucks. I added myself to the 2011 draft class... #20 6'6(6'5 IRL) SG Gregory "G-Dub" Lawrence (my middle names) OVR 81(95 Potential) University of Wis-Milwaukee.

Simmed the 1st season and turned on CPU trades only after the current date. Unhappy with Andrew Bogut's lack of production and durability with his huge contract... I made a risky trade with Dallas bringing in Racine, WI native Caron Butler and Tyson Chandler(both expiring contracts) and a 11' 1st round pick for Bogut and John Salmons.

Lakers swept Boston in the Finals with 1st seed Miami getting upset 4-2 by Cleveland in the 1st round!

                      Picked up C. Delfino's team option. 1yr 3.5mil
                      Resigned C. Butler to a 1yr 11mil contract with a player option.
Let Mbah Moute and Redd hit free agency.
Tried to resign Douglas-Roberts and T. Chandler but they wanted to test FA.

Bucks got the 8th pick in the lottery.
With G. Lawrence projected to go 1st overall over Irving, P. Jones, and Barnes I made a big trade that I had to split into three but I felt it was only fair to give up this much to get the #1 pick. Trading a '13 1st rounder also in exchange for a 2nd rounder when its availabe at the beginning of the season.

                      Bucks get:
                      1st rd 1st pick
                      '13 2nd rd pick
                      SF T. Outlaw 3yr 21 mil OVR 71
                      C J. Petro 2yr 6.75 mil OVR 57

                      Nets get:
                      1st rd 8th pick
                      1st rd 27th pick(via DAL)
                      '12 1st rd pick
                      '13 1st rd pick
                      2nd rd 7th pick
                      PF L. Sanders OVR 69
                      SF C. Maggette OVR 72 2yr 21 mil

Then made 1 more trade before free agency.

                      Bucks get:
                      SG R. Hamilton OVR 73 2yr 25 mil
                      '12 2nd rd pick

                      Pistons get:
                      T. Outlaw OVR 71 3yr 21mil

Though Rip's contract is hard to absorb... I like his veteran leadership and adds good depth to the wings. Also frees up the logjam at SF.

After FA I wound up with this roster:

                      PG B. Jennings(82)/K.Dooling(66)
                      SG G. Lawrence(81)/R.Hamilton(73)/Douglas-Roberts(72)
                      SF C. Butler(81)/A. Kirilenko(72)/C. Delfino(68)
                      PF E. Ilyasova(70)/D.Gooden(70)/K. Humphries(68)
                      C T. Chandler(71)/J.Petro(57)

Good depth, a potent backcourt for years to come and plenty of veteran leadership. All vets have 2yrs or less left on their contract. Very thin at C and not sure how much trade value I have as Jennings and Lawrence are untouchable. Would like to get a 1st round pick for next year and get another C. Any suggestions?

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So I've just passed the Trading Deadline in my Pacers Association and I currently sit atop my Division with a 31-22 Record. My Pacers team wouldn't be in this position if it weren't for the strong play from Collison, Granger (33.9 PPG), and Hibbert (Top 5 Rebounder). It also helps to play in a weak division where you have the Cavs, Pistons, and Bucks.

As of now though both Hansbrough and Hibbert are out with serious injuries and it seems Hansbrough probably won't be back until the playoffs, but Hibbert should be back in a week or so. Due to these injuries (both Hibbert and Hansbrough have been out multiple times with injuries), I decided to add pieces to my team in hopes of being able to compete with the top of the East come this post-season. In the end I made two deals. In the first deal I traded Dunleavy (who was -14 due to his role) to a Bobcats team who was in the process of selling house, for an unhappy Boris Diaw. In the second deal I traded Lance Stephenson, Posey and a 1st round pick to the Wizards for Blatche (whom the team was looking deal due to his contract and the how the team was performing).

So for now my rotation is:
                        PG: D. Collison
                        SG: D. Jones
                        SF: D. Granger
                        PF: B. Diaw
                        C : A. Blatche

                        6th Man: T. Ford
Role Players: J. Foster, J. McRoberts, B. Rush, P. George

                        When Hibbert and Hansbrough return:

                        PG: D. Collison
                        SG: D. Jones
                        SF: D. Granger
                        PF: A. Blatche
                        C : R. Hibbert

                        6th Man: T. Ford
Role Players: J. Foster, B. Diaw, B. Rush, P. George

Thoughts? Wondering if I made the right moves, or if I should have done one deal instead of going after both Diaw and Blatche. Both trades were used via trade finder, and selecting the guys I wanted to trade and seeing what offers were out there.

Also, the Celtics were ACTIVE this trade deadline. They acquired both Dorell Wright and Stephen Jackson.

It seems to me like if the team he's on does well, he stays for 3 or more but if they suck, he retires. Although it could just be a coincidence.

You can always turn AutoSave off and save right before the end of the season stuff happens and keep quitting and trying again until he doesn't retire.

Just restarted my nuggets association.. Chemistry died on my last one.. Oh well

                            Heres my depth chart

                            PG Mike Conley/Derek Fisher/Lester Hudson
SG Evan Turner/Sonny Weems/sometimes Ronnie Brewer
                            SF Wilson Chandler/Ronnie Brewer(Convert)
PF Serge Ibaka/Louis Admunson/ Amir Johnson
                            C Joakim Noah/Eddy Curry/Birdman

Mike Conley picked a great time for an injury 2 games before the laker game.. Evan turner played point.. We lost 79 -56 8 min quarters.. Lester is rotting on my bench after conley comes back
we are currently 8-2 so i cant complain. Eddy curry is a surpising inside threat he became my 6th man and he opens my offense.. Then get his overweightness back on the bench because he sucks at d and gives up rebounds..

In the end I made two deals. In the first deal I traded Dunleavy (who was -14 due to his role) to a Bobcats team who was in the process of selling house, for an unhappy Boris Diaw. In the second deal I traded Lance Stephenson, Posey and a 1st round pick to the Wizards for Blatche (whom the team was looking deal due to his contract and the how the team was performing).

So for now my rotation is:
                              PG: D. Collison
                              SG: D. Jones
                              SF: D. Granger
                              PF: B. Diaw
                              C : A. Blatche

                              6th Man: T. Ford
Role Players: J. Foster, J. McRoberts, B. Rush, P. George

                              When Hibbert and Hansbrough return:

                              PG: D. Collison
                              SG: D. Jones
                              SF: D. Granger
                              PF: A. Blatche
                              C : R. Hibbert

                              6th Man: T. Ford
Role Players: J. Foster, B. Diaw, B. Rush, P. George

Thoughts? Wondering if I made the right moves, or if I should have done one deal instead of going after both Diaw and Blatche. Both trades were used via trade finder, and selecting the guys I wanted to trade and seeing what offers were out there.

Also, the Celtics were ACTIVE this trade deadline. They acquired both Dorell Wright and Stephen Jackson.
Well you have a capable 2nd 6th man with diaw he can play all positions hes kinda good to be bench riding

Yeah, he'll easily become my Sixthman at the start of next season, as I won't be resigning TJ Ford. However, he won't be riding the bench either. Currently, I have him playing 26 Minutes a night, because of his ability to stretch the court and play both PF / SF.

My Bench minutes are like this:
                                B. Diaw - 26
                                T. Ford - 20
                                P. George / B. Rush - 10
                                J. Foster / J. McRoberts - 5
