Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I sense a little hate. Yeah Im the guy that traded for Blake and went after Melo in my Bulls association in my 2nd season. I picked the Bulls because I like Rose and thought they had the fair pieces to give up for Blake Griffin w/o losing their main guy. In turn, I had enough cap space to go after Melo who was a F/A. My so called unrealistic plan even backfired on me. Melo signed with the Warriors. That was realistic eh? You never know what a GM or player might do in this league. Bad moves and surprisingly good moves happen all the time. Excuse me for sharing my revamped roster that Im going to have a blast playing with on my 360 videogame called NBA 2K11. You gotta love message boards.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
My comments weren't directed at you specifically. Honestly, I didn't even notice you make those moves so, no hate here. All I was saying was that it is refreshing to see guys making trades for role players rather than Super Stars. That's just my opinion and there's nothing wrong with it. Just like there's nothing wrong with the way you choose to play your game. It's yours so do whatever makes it fun for you.
Thanks for the clarification.
Im not on these boards much and it is obvious to me now that everyone likes to see "uber-realism"; as realistic is mentioned in nearly every comment. I just dont have the time or patience to spend multiple 82 game seasons building a team to a possible contender. So Id much rather use a team that has some pieces to play with from the outset and have a shot at a title right away. Even if that means revamping most of the roster to my liking which I never do in the first season. I like to sim the first season with cpu trades off and leave the roster as is. Then in the offseason I start making moves and begin playing the games in the second season.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
29 game season, 6 minute quarters
http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2041978475 (Roster / Trade Reminders)
Went on a run with my Pistons to push our record to 13-6, only a half game behind the Heat for best record in the East. We had a 7 game winning streak in there, the sixth of which was an absolute thriller against the Lakers. The lead changed hands 7 times in the 4th, including Kobe (who just abused my team all game), nailing a sick turnaround with 42 seconds left to put them up 1. Ben Gordon clanked an open 15 footer to put us up and L.A. got the ball back with 28 seconds left. I was content to let the shotclock run down instead of fouling, but K-Mart picked Artest's pocket and I was able to call timeout with 3.2 seconds left. On the inbounds play, Thompson hit an in-motion Steve Nash who pulled up in front of Steve Blake and drained a 25 footer as time expired, sending The Palace into a frenzy as Detroit beat L.A. 55-53.
Won our seventh straight at Portland after jumping out to a 12-2 lead and never letting the lead slip below 7. Then, at Sacramento, we must have had some bad room service because we came out incredibly flat, turning the ball over, missing open jumpers, etc. We were behind by 12 at half and down by as many as 17 in the 3rd. Then, Ben Gordon went apesh*t, scoring 14 straight Piston points in the 3rd and cutting the gap to 6. Landry made some huge buckets, though, and extended the Kings' lead to 14 entering the 4th. The lead was up to 16 when we got hot and managed to cut it to a three point deficit, with the ball, with 30 seconds left. Will Bynum (who I had traded away as part of the Jason Thompson deal), stole the inbounds and went the distance to put the Kings up 5. We lost 60-56.
Tough stretch coming up: 4 games at home against Golden State, Utah, OKC, and the Spurs. Detroit has a 2 game lead in the Central, though, and the 2011 Draft is looking really promising, seeing as how the Suns have the NBA's worst record and Detroit has their pick.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I took the comments too personally. Ill admit that. Its just when I saw that flow of comments and the direct mention of Griffin and Melo I took it as a direct stab at my association and went into defense mode.
Thanks for the clarification.

There are guys that do fantasy draft which I find unrealistic, but that's okay. Guys like to trade stars for stars. Guys like to implement classic teams and replace current teams. It's cool to see everyone's story, but those ways are just not my cup of tea and not some other guys' either.
That's what makes this thread great--seeing how every one turns out.Comment

I tell you one thing Ive found Association mode on 2k11 to be the best in any sports game Ive ever played. Cant believe Ive waited so long to start one this year as Ive been playing mostly My Player and Jordan Challenge up to this point.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I have to agree. I've played alot of different sports games from different companies, and the only other games that I have found to be atleast somewhat close onpar to NBA 2k11 is FIFA 10 (not 11), Football Manager 2011, NFL2k5, and NFL Head Coach 09. Thats pretty much it.Last edited by extremeskins04; 12-30-2010, 02:21 PM.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I just won the NBA Championship in my fourth year with the Cavs, winning the title before King James, just like what Dan Gilbert said he promised.. And I did it with the team of:
PG: Kyle Lowry
SG: Evan Turner
SF: Adam Morrison
PF: Jamychal Green
C: Fab Melo
J.J. Redick
Daniel Gibson
Lamar Odom
Martell Webster
Hasheem Thabeet
Chuck Hayes

1st season with Houston.</ST1I’m 10-14 and like 12th in the conference. Kevin Martin is my leading score averaging 24.6. I may be doing a clean house soon by trading Yao,<ST1
</ST1
Batier and maybe Aaron Brooks ( I actually like using him though) I’m starting to slowly work in my young players like Hill, Patterson and T. Williams.
I feel like I can be a playoff team but they are really lacking a "superstar"<O</O

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Hes averaging 23.4 points a game. Has averaged 20 or more points since i signed him. Did the weekly training every chance I got to raise his stats, now he's one of the building blocks of the franchise.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Dropped 2 in a row with my Wizards. Lost to Philadelphia and Atlanta. 0-2 vs. both teams now. 7-7 on the year; play the Magic and Heat to close out November.
-Wall has been good: 20 PPG, 5 RPG, 11 APG (1 triple-double) *injured*
-Blatche has been good as well: 19 PPG, 8-9 RPG *injured*
-Young has been streaky: 18 PPG, dropped 44 once, but has disappeared at times
-McGee: 7 PPG, 11 RPG, 2.5 BPG...monster on alley-oops
-Lewis can really shoot, but like Young, will disappear at times
-Hinrich: unimpressed, 6 PPG, 3 APG...30% from the field, too many turnovers...tips??
-Booker: in his first start for the injured Al Thornton (who started for Blatche), 21 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals
-Howard: good player off the bench with 7 PPG (trying to get this up)
-Jianlian: good on the pick 'n' pop
-Thornton: started to see more minutes before injury...18 points, +27 +/- in 9 minutes one game
-Martin: good reserve guard
-Armstrong/N'Diaye: good reserve bigs
-Hudson: got his 1st game action (impressive) may steal some of Hinrich's minutes
-Seraphin: in the D-LeagueLast edited by LHSLax_D24; 12-30-2010, 05:44 PM.Purdue Boilermakers
