Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

    Start of season:

    Curry/Sessions
    Ellis/R. Williams
    Batum/Carney
    Aldridge/Udoh
    Varejao/Udoh

Traded to Bucks: Aldridge+Sessions+2nd round pick for Bogut and Mbah a Moute.
Traded ti Clippers: C. Bell, R. Carney, B. Wright for D. Jordan, Smith and R. Butler
Traded to Magic: R. Butler, Dan Gadzuric, 2011 2nd round pick for J.J. Redick and J. Williams

so now my depth chart is like this

    Curry/J. Williams
    Ellis/J.J. Redick
    Batum/Reggie Williams
    Varejao/Mbah a Moute
    Bogut/D. Jordan

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Game 4 of the Western Conference Quarter Finals was a tough one for my Suns. The Lakers came out on Fire in the 1st outscoring us 38-22. To add insult to injury. As we were clawing our way back into the game,Vince Carter went down in the 2nd Quarter and will be out 1-2 weeks with a lower back strain.

We were able to get the game within 5 points but, in the end Kobe and company were just too much for us to handle and they picked up the 116-109 win, to even the series at 2-2.

Lamar Odom was the Player of the Game. He came off the bench to score 14 points and grab 14 boards. He also added 4 assists, 1 steal and a block to his stat line. Kobe only scored 22 points (his lowest output in the series) but added 7 dimes. Pau Gasol came through with another beastly game with 18 points, 16 rebounds and a block.

For Phoenix Nash came up big in the loss (30 points, 14 assists, 2 steals). Dragic looked good off the bench as well (20 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds in 22 minutes).

With Carter out Pietrus will get the start at SG. Also, Gragic and Jared Dudley will see an increase in playing time.

      -------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Game 5

This game was a dog fight for the first 3 Quarter's. The game was tied up at 69 heading into the 4th. However, in the 4th Kobe and Pau took the game over and they outscored us 35-28 for the 104-97 win.

Nash was a man among boys for us (36 points, 11 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block). But, without a Robin to his Batman the team just couldn't get it done. After Nash, Grant Hill was our next highest scorer with 18 followed by Dragic with 17, Pietrus with 12 and Childress with 10.

For the Lakers Gasol was the player of the game (23 points, 17 boards, 2 assists) and Kobe was huge for them as well (26 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and one steal). Also, Ron Artest was money for LA all night. He scored 21 points on 8 of 9 shooting (3-3 for 3P).

The Lakers now leads the series 3-2 and looks to finish things off in LA in front a crowd packed with celebrities. Nash, Hill and company have other plans but, without VC things are going to be really tough.

If people are unhappy or not producing, I make realistic trades. For example, I traded Tracy McGrady to the Spurs because Richard Jefferson went down for the season. Jermaine O'Neal was unhappy (with PT) is Boston, so I traded him back to Indiana.

The offseason, for free agents I get a few teams that would *realistically* offer the player contracts and then lets the player choose. For example, I would have the Nuggets (maybe), Nets, and Knicks all give Carmelo a contract and then let the CPU decide where he plays.

Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:

Game 3 of the Western Conf. qtr finals and I finally beat the Thunder in a user game. I had played them all 3 times in the reg season, losing all 3. I simmed the 1st game of the series and won, simmed the 2nd game and lost, so figured I'd play game3.

Was close throughout....Found my strategy for winning. Give Shawn Marion a lot of minutes...to stick Durant, and throw the double teams at Durant in the 4th qtr.

Durant scored 29 pts through 3 qtrs, but in the 4th...after doubling him, was held to only 5 pts. Marion played 39 minutes, and was my 2nd leading scorer w/ a solid 15 pts getting to the line a few times too.

Dirk Nowitzki SHINED... he poured in 47pts and added 11 boards, 4 assists, a steal and a block. He knocked down 3 three pointers, and was 8/9 from the line...helping to get Serge Ibaka in fould trouble.

Should be noted that Nenad Kirstic is injured, and out 2-4wks w/ a severe ankle sprain.

So Dallas leads the series after a 107-97 win over the Thunder, also being a road win.

Sim wins against the Jazz and Blazers. Beat the Celts like they owed me money. Westbrook had a triple double with 29 points,11 assists and a 10 steals + 3 rebounds. Lakers finally lost so top spot is mine.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

After failing with the master plan on the Bulls association I decided to start one with the Clippers since I wanted to build aroud Blake Griffin.

I simmed the first season and Dallas beat Boston in 7 to win the championship. Dirk averaged 33 PPG to win Finals MVP.

The Clippers finished with the 5th worst record.

                Offseason moves:
I resigned DeAndre Jordan to a 5yr contract at about 4.5mil a year.
Entered the draft with the 6th pick.
Traded the 6th pick and Baron Davis to Sacramento for the 11th pick, Omri Casspi and a 2nd round pick(pick 9)
Like this trade for both sides as I needed cap space and depth at SF.
Kings best PG is Udrih at 65 OVR.
I targeted PG Josh Selby at pick 11 but Toronto snagged him at pick 7.
Didnt like anybody else in the draft so I traded C. Kaman, Aminu and the 11th pick for Rudy Gay.
Traded my two 2nd round picks for the Bulls 1st rounder next year.
I offered an inflated contract(by 5mil) to RFA Marc Gasol in hopes of Memphis not matching and it worked!
Signed FA SG Corey Brewer to a 3 yr deal and FA PG Ronnie Price to a 2 yr deal.
With Brian Cook(51 OVR) as my only other PF I traded Ryan Gomes and the Bulls 1st Rounder to the Pistons for PF Jason Maxiell.

Here is my depth chart for the start of the season:

PG: Eric Bledsoe OVR 71 / Ronnie Price OVR 63 / Willie Warren OVR 62
SG: Eric Gordon OVR 81 / Corey Brewer OVR 72 / Randy Foye OVR 69
SF: Rudy Gay OVR 88 / Omri Casspi OVR 67
PF: Blake Griffin OVR 87 / Jason Maxiell OVR 71 / Brian Cook OVR 51
C: Marc Gasol OVR 78 / DeAndre Jordan OVR 64

Like how the team turned out but if any of my big men get hurt Im gonna be hurting pretty bad inside. PG is pretty weak but I didnt have much cap room to sign anyone better than Price. Ill probably address PG next year in the draft.

Quick question, if I plan to play most/all of my games at 10 min q's, should I lower the season length, or does this screw up playoff races/stats/etc.?

Are you guys seeing crazy parity, especially in the East? Maybe its just the strength of the West, but only the Heat and Magic have won 2/3 or more of their games.

Thats a nice team there, realistic, but I think you need more depth in your team to contend for the title

For some reason B-diddy is always better than Bledsoe so I traded him after a couple of years and got another young PG to replace him (Fredette). I rly like Aminu, he's fast and athletic overall, great defender and excellent rebounder, however you got a superstar in Rudy and good back-up in Casspi therefore you're fine. Your team's only problem is that none is a good passer. I got Tyreke in my clips association to fix this but haven't competed for the championship in 4 years so you may have better luck with your style of play.

7-8 in my Jazz chise. Traded Millsap, Hayward and two 1st round draft picks for Blake Griffin. He avg. 19 pts and 10 reb. Signed Milos Teodosic from FA pool, but he struggle and hes not happy. Thinking of move Memo Okur, cause of his contract, hes morale is also not to high. D-Will play hes best bball, leading in allstar votes in West, avg 26ppg, 10apg, 4rpg and 1.5 spg. Hope he can win MVP award.

Taking a little break from my Jazz assciation (will post update on that soon, I hope), to start a fantasy assocation. But, I included a bunch of the classic teams players and some downloaded players. I pretty much took every superstar from the past and put them in my association for a bunch of the current day scrubs. I also replaced the Thunder with the Sonics, so I could play with them.

After doing a fantasy draft, my team looks like this:
                              PG: John Stockton
                              SG: John Starks
                              SF: Alex English
                              PF: Blake Griffth
                              C: Bill Russell
                              Sixth: Shane Battier
                              Role: Bob Cousy
                              Role: Adrian Dantley
                              Pros: Nick Young
                              Bench: Kyle Korver
                              Bench: Chris Andersen
                              Bench: Louis Amundson
                              Rev: Tiago Spiltter

Playing a 29-game season (all-star/sim sliders), I lost my first game to the Clyde Drexler-lead Hawks. Drexler dropped 45 on me. Couldn't get anything going with anybody besides Blake and Stockton.

This looks like it's going to be a fun association to do, with all the current day superstars mixed with the superstars of the past. What do you all think of it? And of the team I drafted?
