You have inspired me to try... as for comparing them as both good shooters I don't see that but maybe I didn't play enough with Wallace. Rudy can flat out shoot the ball and score. Wallace is an incredible athlete but Gay seemed to be the far better shooter from what I could tell. Guessing Wallace is by far better defender.

It would be AWESOME if 2K had it set up where we could do trades/etc... with the computer over our computers!

Going to go for Rudy Gay for Wallace. I will be PUMPED if this happens. I will package him with Tyson Chandler or Camby and then downgrade to someone else if needed. Getting Gay would make me happy!

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Whoa... went home and tested out the Wallace for Rudy Gay trade and eventually got it to work. Had to give up Thabeet, Wallace and my first round pick (well actually some other team's first round pick that I had acquired from a different team, I stock pile these for the guys who have trade value from my team that I don't want For Rudy and the worst guy on their team.

The good: I now have Rudy Gay and Kevin Durant on my team!!!
The bad: Team loses some depth with Wallace being able to play the 3 and 4 as well as Thabeet being available for a few minutes.

Current team is only 8 deep but they are going to be FUN to play with!!! Never knew the Thunder were so deep and talented. Westbrook just has HUGE trade value in this game and can really get you studs! Check it out!

PG Curry (When hot can take over. Good distributor, hits open 3's)
        SF/SG Gay (Super star)
SF/SG Durant (Super star and first look)
SG/SF Allen (simply deadly from 3)
SG Wafer (Not going to get a ton of minutes I don't think)
PF/C Camby (solid rebounder and a great defender)
PF/C Ibaka (Awesome name, very athletic)
C Chandler (Huge body who can defend and board)

I was SHOCKED to see this team rated like 7th-OVR with an 86-OVR. I think I will be good being that I have the 3 most important parts of this game pretty well covered:
        Scoring ability
        Defending ability (athleticism)
        Rebounding

I might not be the best of any of the 3 but I am top 3 I think in all 3!

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I'm in the pre-season of Year 3 of my POR franchise. I was upset by the 7th seeded Thunder, four games to one.

After Year 2, I let Greg Oden go as a RFA. I offered him his qualifying, but the Bobcats offered him a 5-year deal in the ~$70M range, and I wanted no part of that commitment considering his durability issues. I was able to nab Marcus Morris in the draft after trading Rudy Fernandez for Indy's #16 pick and figured to go with a front-court rotation of he, Aldridge, Camby and Wallace (love that he can play the 4). Since I had Nic Batum and Wes Matthews on the bench, Rudy's minutes was easily replaceable by Luke Babbitt and Elliott Williams. I signed Delonte West to a two-year pact to replace Andre Miller and that was my squad.

After the Thunder upset, Camby retired and Batum was a RFA. I didn't make any trades re: the draft, but I was able to nab Meyers Leonard out of Illinois with my late first-rounder (29th). I noticed how little I used Babbitt and Williams during the season, so with both of them being 'A' potential guys and me being in a win-now mode, I put them on the block. Washington bit with an offer of Terrence Jones and their 2014 first rounder. Needless to say, I jumped at that.

Since Camby retired I was still in the market for a starting PF/C (LaMarcus Aldridge can play either spot). I figured I could find one via FA or trade Delonte West for one and put Brandon Roy at the 1 and Wes Matthews at the 2. The latter had become a bit unsettled re: his lack of minutes, so starting him was a good idea. Seeing as how Kevin Garnett was the only starting-calber PF/C that I could afford (was limited to the mid-level exception), I traded West and my own 2014 #1 for Washington's Marcin Gortat.

Now needing an adequate backup at the SG position, I went after Landry Fields, who himself was a RFA; I was able to get him exactly at the mid-level exception for five years. I also re-signed Batum to a 2+1 (player opt.) deal.

So, in the 2012-13 campaign, here are my Blazers:

          PG Brandon Roy
          SG Wes Matthews
SF Gerald Wallace (signed him to a 4-year extension during 2011-12 season, so the Big 3 is locked up)
          PF LaMarcus Aldridge
          C Marcin Gortat

          6. Nic Batum SF
          7. Landry Fields SG/SF
          8. Marcus Morris PF
          9. Cory Joseph PG (drafted him with my own #1 pick (24th) in the 2011 draft)
          10. Terrence Jones SF/PF
          11. Marcus Leonard C
12a. Eddie House (signed him to a league-min deal in off-season prior to Year 3)
12b. Willie Warren (signed him to a league-min deal during pre-season of Year 3)

House is pretty terrible at this point, so I am glad I was able to sign Warren at $487K. The latter is also a 'B' potential and is already rated a 66 at 23-years-old, so he most likely will kick House off the active roster. Also, he could probably supplant Joseph as the #2 PG on the depth chart.

Batum and Fields are both out 2-4 weeks with leg injuries, but they should only miss the first five games of the regular season, if that much.

My biggest regret thus far is not shopping Babbitt and Williams together to see what else they could have brought back, but Jones is still a great catch.

Ok. i recently started a Detroit Pistons association.

I'm going to play all 82 games, controlling all 32 teams.

                ANY TRADE SUGGESTIONS?

I got whooped by NJ, i have horribly big contracts that i don't even want on my team, but i can't seem to think of any REALISTIC trades..

The only realistic ones I can think of would be pretty much giving Prince and Hamilton to contenders for very little in return.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Wow, did some messing around with trades last night and found out that the trades that the CPU will do with you DEPEND on WHO you are! I guess it takes into account whether or not you are in the same division as the CPU team!

How I noticed this was that I wanted to play as the BULLS in my association but I wanted to use the Thunder as my base team. So the first thing I did was to force the entire 14 for 14 player trades. After I did this I went back to trading the Thunder guys with the bulls team and was SHOCKED that I could NO LONGER get the same guys!!! LOL I found this to be pretty freaking COOL!
Anyways, if you want the most bang for your buck when trading definitely trade to the other division and the CPU is more likely to trade.

Also, I guess the rosters have slightly changed from last time I did a full blown Thunder over-haul because this time I was unable to get the same cast of characters. Still ended up with a LOADED team IMO but the CPU only ranked me as 7th OVR with a rating of 86 OVR.

Well, if you want realism, you should ride it out with the guys on the roster. Detroit tried to move Rip, and to a lesser extent Prince, but were unable to do so. If you were able to pull off a trade with either of those guys, you'd have to give them away for very little, as it'd be unrealistic to trade those guys for star players on another team.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I made the Buffalo Braves, coached by Bob McAdoo. I used the Wizzards roster and traded John Wall and some Chinese fellow to the 76ers for Andre Iguodala.

I simmed season one, and went 5-23. I did have 3 all-stars and a all NBA first team defense starter. I guess Buffalo stacked the ballot box.

In the draft I had the 4th pick and landed a 7'3" A+ potential center. His OVR is a 73, and he is slated for 17 minutes a night to start. The starter is a 76 OVR, so we'll see how long he stays on the bench.

Right now my 2011-2012 Starting lineup goes:
                        C J McGee
                        PF A Blatche
                        SF Rashard Lewis
                        SG Andre Iguodala
                        PG Nick Young

                        6th man: Josh Howard
                        Prospect: Wally McGee

I don't have a real PG, so I may see if I can get one for Nick Young.

Need some front court advice. Right now I have these 4 guys:
                          C: Camby - Haywood
                          PF: Ibaka - Tyrus Thomas

I wanted to have Tyson Chandler on my team as he is just a great shot blocker in the middle. Have any of you guys played with Chandler versus the guys I have now? Would you suggest I get Chandler if it means losing Camby? Thoughts?

I guess ideally I was hoping for:
                          C - Chandler - (Camby - Ibaka)
                          PF - Camby - Ibaka
So more of a 3 man rotation with a Haywood playing only on a need to basis.

Game 1 was a lot of fun. I lost 106-103 in Buffalo to Dallas. Ugh, typical.

Wally Logan had a rough first half, but he finished strong. In 21 minutes he finished with 19 points, 4 boards and 3 blocks. He may already have found himself into the starting lineup.

Iguodala scored 30 and Lewis scored 22.

                            I need a point guard.

Game 2 was even more fun. It turns out the Pistons cannot handle a big man.

Wally Logan was unstoppable. In 20 minutes he was 15-18 from the floor, almost all dunks. He finished with 30 pts.

Iguodala had quite the stat line:
                              29 pts
                              5 board
                              18 assists
                              5 steals
                              3 blocks
                              9 turnovers

                              I won 125-120

                                Cavs year 2 update.

After hitting the lotto at the end of season 1 (which i simmed) and getting picks 1 and 2 (clippers) in the draft. The Cavs drafted PG Kyrie Irving and SF Harrison Barnes. I then resigned JJ Hickson to a long deal, 5yr 50million and some change...

My starting lineup looks like this...

                                PG - Kryie Irving
                                SG - Baron Davis

                                6th Man - Antwan Jamison
