Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Hey guys, I'm using the Thunder and I'm having a blast. I'm 3-0 right now and wanted to get some more umph into my shooting guard and I was thinking about doing this trade

    Thunder Trade:

    Nate Robinson / Nazr Mohammed / 11 1st

    76rs Trade:

    Iguodala / Jodie Meeks

So my rotation would look like this:

    Westbrook / Maynor
    AI2 / Sefolosha
    Durant / Haden
    Ibaka / Collinson
    Perkins / Aldrich

I really like that a a lot. Gives me my own big 3 in Westbrook / AI2 / Durant!

Hmm, I would say that you would have to give up Harden and Nazr and the first. Giving them Nate would only create a log jam at the point guard position.

I tried doing that trade and it doesn't work, need to add more pieces to work.

          I'm in a Wizards association.

          Recently I made this trade

          Wizards trade
          Andre Blatche/Seraphin Kevin

          for
          Timberwolves trade
Anothony Randolph / 2nd RD pick

What do guys think of this? Is this realistic?

I needed more rebounding for my team and I couldnt really utilize Blatche besides on frequent pick and rolls with Wall. With Randolph it gives me a decent rebounder, decent 18ft shooter and a young guy that has potential to develop into something good.
Add me om PSN for a good game of basketball!

I'd say that is pretty realistic. It's not like your trading away a star for a bum player. Your front court is going to be ridiculously athletic with McGee and Randolph!

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Starting up a brand new Association, clean slate. Using the New Jersey Nets, 11-25-2010 roster set (the most recent roster before the first trade happened). I am going to play with my current squad and eventually do the Carmelo Anthony trade (Force Trades on just for this one trade).

              Right now its-
              PG- Devin Harris
              SG- Anthony Morrow
              SF- Travis Outlaw
              PF- Troy Murphy
              C- Brook Lopez

After trade (what the Nets would look like if they had Melo):
              PG- Chauncey Billups
              SG- Rip Hamilton
              SF- Carmelo Anthony
              PF- Kris Humphries
              C- Brook Lopez

I will resign position and quickly go to the Knicks and trade for Deron Williams. so its a parallel reality and have a big rivalry.

might sound corny to you, but it will be fun for me!

I am starting a new association with the Thunder as my base team. I plan on trading away most of their players however except for Durant. Am I the only person who enjoys trading guys as much as playing? The Thunder are the best team to start with IMO. You start with the 14th best team on paper (so there is room to improve) and they have 2 young super stars with huge trade rating, their CAP is managable and they have Durant!

For me its all about getting the best 1, 2 &3 positions possible and then the 4 & 5 are for defense/rebounding.

I plan on playing on the All-Star level (whatever right above PRO is) my question is if getting a great defender really matters? Is a guy like Wallace worth the cost to get him? Will he do things when the CPU is controlling him to benefit my team enough to justify the cost to land him or should I just get a scoring superstar in stead?

Having a good defender does matter. The Nets had Quinton Ross (86 On Ball Defense, 79 Defensive Awareness), he was a 64 overall. I would put him on Carmelo Anthony and stall his game on All Star/Simulation. I always forced him to pass and I was able to hold him to 11 points, he wouldn't really be a contributor and all I have to do is double Amar'e in the post. If you want a great defender, get Shane Battier he is the best in the game with 95 On Ball Defense and can score. Quinton Ross I would also pursue, but the problem with him he isn't a really good shooter but he can stall (not stop) guys like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, etc. and force those guys to pass the ball from time to time.

Got bored, so I went to see if I could make the fabled Knicks Big-3 of CP3, Melo, and STAT; so I started a NY association and simmed ahead a season.

                        My roster looks like this:

                        PG: Chris Paul (93)
                        SG: Nicholas Batum (72)
                        SF: Carmelo Anthony (90)
                        PF: Amar'e Stoudemire (90)
                        C: Jermain O'Neal (70)

                        6th: Serge Ibaka (76)
                        7th: Jordan Crawford (73)
                        8th: Corey Brewer

9th-12th: People who won the lottery for 6 figure contracts, lol.

Can't wait to try it out.

                        Some notables:

LeBron James won the MVP for the fourth time, after last year.

Boston won two championships, with Rondo winning two finals MVPs.

I was able to get CP3 after he declined to re-sign with the Hornets, but they were still able to sign Russell Westbrook, who decided NOT to resign with the Thunder after they got to the finals the previous year.

Manu Ginobili went to the Celtics, who still have their "Big-4," but only have a center that's rated 58, lol. I'm considering just switching GM for a bit to remedy that... just seems criminal. :|

Wow, I killed an hour last night trading away most of the Thunder to see what kind of squad I could put together on the floor and I have to say I was SHOCKED at how good of a team you can put together. I was able to get EVERYONE I wanted on a team with talent to spare!?!?! It almost felt not fair. For some reason 2K sports has given the Thunder a TON of tradable talent but collectively the team isn't a top 10 ranked team. What was REALLY weird to me, was that after I did all these trades it still said my team was ranked 11th and not a great OVR ranking which makes zero sense to me.

PG - Curry (although I am starting ot wonder if Westbrook or Rose wouldn't fit better)
                          SG - Ray Allen
                          SF - Durant
PF - Camby!!! (dude is a BEAST of a defender!)
C - Tyson Chandler (beast down low on defense and boards)
6th - Gerald Wallace (Can't believe I could get him with this front court)
                          7th - Ibaka
                          8th - Wafer
                          9th - Thabeet

IMO this is a SICK lineup! This is more talent thought then I typically like to have on my bench. My philosophy is usually upgrade your starting 5 who get the most minutes to as high as possible and then use your bench players as PURE role players to give your starters a breather. This team would be very fun to play with but I hope to get more time today to continue to move some guys around and see what can be done.

I am pretty sure that Rose >> Westbrook > Curry so I am not sure how much I would have to give up. Ibaka of the bench could play the 4 or 5 position.... this team is pretty well rounded IMO. What do you think?

Here is a question about the game: How does the CPU counter with offers that include MORE then 4 guys from a single team? I have been BURNT by this in the past when I didn't know there were more then 4 guys involved from my team.

Wonder if I could get Rudy Gay for Wallace and someone else.... Big fan of the Gay, would like to him if possible. He plays pretty solid defense himself and he is a big rebounder. Wish me luck on getting Gay.

Rudy Gay and Gerald Wallace is about the same in this game, both have great defense, both are good shooters (if you know their shots), and both have a quick first step and will dunk in your face! If you like Rudy, you should go with him because he is younger.
