Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I'm playing a Cavs Association and with 2 games to go in the 2011-2012 season the team was in sixth place (set to play the nearly unbeatable Hawks, who are in the 3 spot)...

If I win my last two (@ BOS, Home / Knicks) I have a chance to avoid ATL in the 1st round and play IND or NYY...

I go into Boston looking for the win and find out that they NEED to win to make the 8 spot...

Tied going into the 4th and then Pierce, Allen, O'Neal (!) and company go nuts and outscore me 34-15 and are camped at the FT line in the Garden while dominating both ends of the floor...

    Frustrating?

    VERY

But ultimately, it was really cool...it seemed very realistic that they would go clutch / veteran on me and play for the playoff birth like the season depended on it...

    Love this game!

started one with the Thunder. Simmed my first season. Went 49-32 and lost in the secound round to the lakers. Durant got named to the all nba first team and him and westbrook were both all stars. In the nba draft I drafted Kemba Nolan Smith Pullen AND Brandon Knight . I traded away James Harden Nate Robinson and someone else to get all the picks lol. I'm in my second season now starting off 3-0. Heres my lineup

      PG Westbrook[90]
      SG: Rip Hamilton[75]
      SF: Durant[96]
      PF: Ibaka[77]
      C: Perkins[77]

Also have Barbosa on my bench.

to add on about the thunder, im 11-3 right now, losing to the Knicks, Bucks and Celtics. Durant is averging 26.8 ppg, 8.4 rpg and only 1.2 APG lol. But he is getting 2.4 SPG and 1.3 BPGAlso shooting .557 from the field.Westbrook is averging 19.2 PPG, 3.6 RPG and 5.6 APG.In a random note, Harrison Barnes is averging 24.6 ppg for the bobcats lol. Also Gilbert Arenas is averging 23.9 ppg.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Started a Rockets Association. I love T-Mac and Yao and I kinda cheated on this one but it's fun. I set both T-Mac and Yao's ages to 19, changed their potential to 99 and added on 5 to each of their athleticism stats. I traded Kevin Martin + Chase Budinger for Andre Iguodala and I trade some scrub for Jeremy Lin. I dumped Luis Scola on the Wolves and was able to pick up Anthony Randolph then late I dumped Brad Miller for a second round pick. Also traded a scrub or something for Steve Novak.

          My current depth chart is

          PG - Lowry/Dragic/Lin
          SG - McGrady/Lee
          SF - Iguodala/T. Williams/Novak
          PF - Patterson/Hayes/Randolph
          C - Yao/Hill/Thabeet

I usually have Lin and Thabeet on injury reserve but may take out Thabeet for some size. Of course not a lot of teams have size so it doesn't really matter.

I start Patterson most of the time unless we're playing a good offensive PF, then Hayes starts those games.

Jordan Hill occasionally goes off and gets some double doubles. T-Will is usually the first guy off the bench and he plays some point forward. I just really like this team. Usually I have Anthony Randolph as a starter but on this team he's like a 12th man.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Decided to shake things up with a major trade, I was getting the AI into too much foul trouble and I don't enjoy having two slashers as my two main stars, as I am more of a PG distributor and an inside man.

            Heat trade: Dwyane Wade ( 94 ) , '11 1st round pick, '12 2nd round pick, Jordan Farmar ( 72 ).

            Hornets trade: Chris Paul ( 93 ), David Anderson ( 65 ).

The Hornets had a pretty poor record until this trade, won 6 of their last 7 since, plus acquiring a solid back court and a pick in the upcoming draft should help with rebuilding/moving forward.

I acquired someone who can control the game and when James is attacking the rim or getting doubled I have someone who can shoot the three when open. Paul also helps with taking over the defensive duties that Wade gave us.

I also made some minor trades to boost up my bench as DeAndre Jordan went down with a season ending torn MCL.

            Line-up is now;

            PG - C. Paul / E. House,
            SG - A. Afflalo / J. Robinson,
            SF - L. James / W. Szczerbiak,
            PF - R. Anderson / L. Amundson,
            C - C. Bosh / D. Anderson / D. Cook.

Bosh has taken over the Center role for the rest of the season and now with Paul in the line-up he is getting more chances due to the pick and roll being effective.
            Football: Manchester United
            MLB: Cleveland Indians
            NBA: Miami Heat
            NFL: Cleveland Browns

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Took my Hawks to playoffs, only to get Bulls in 1st round, ouch. First two games at United they beat me, includi-ng game 2, where Rose sinks a 3 pointer with a second left in game to beat me 84-83. Go back to Phillips having to win 3 games in a row to get to 2nd round; since I set 1st round to a 5 game series.

              My lineup:

              Wall
              Johnson
              Williams
              Smith
              Horford

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

                year 3 with the hornets.

started with the wizards player lock McGee.

after winning chip in year 2 with wizards.

mcGee and managment had a disagreement and they sent me to N.O.

No the lineup for the hornets was mostly like it is in real life with out cp3

so i traded all the old players and huge contracts away for expiring contracts.

                no more ariza,west,okafur, green

                ty lawson
                tyrus thomas
serge ibaka but got put on season ending IR

                starting lineup is

                demar derozan
                richard jefferson

i simmed the first season, went 26-56 lol but tons of positives came out of the season.First i got rid of Rashard Lewis contract for Jason Richardson and Duhon. Second I traded Josh Hward Jordan Crawford and Nick Young for the bobcats second round pick and Dominic Mcguire.I drafted Irving with that pick and drafted Harrison Barnes with my first pick. Also picked up Z-Bo in FA. My team looks like this right now.

                    PG: Wall[88]
SG: Richardson[will probably split time with irving] 74
                    SF: Barnes 76
                    PF: Z Bo 83

good luck with wall because after year 1 he sucked i had to sim games for him to keep average of 15 pts.

i traded him for curry than won the chise. had to do the same for curry sim to maintain a decent average. only difference i didn't feel so bad because he a better shooter so i didn't mind him taking shots from all over the court.

year 3 after a few games McGee ask for a trade to the hornets because guys were underperforming and he wasn't getting the ball like he deserved. I switched to the hornets a few games into year three. Assuming player lock again as McGee.

My lineup with the wizards first year was the same as in real life because i started the chise after the trade deadline. Simmed all the way to a few games after the deadline so i only played around 20-25 games.

                      2nd yr lineup was
                      curry
                      young
                      beasley
                      a rookie pf
                      McGee
                      Casspi as my 6th man
Uldrich and a few other players the cpu picked up in FA during the offseason.

Year 3 roster was mostly the same biggest addition added during FA was Serge Ibaka and Uldrich left

IMO it seems pretty redundant to have CP3 and LBJ on the same team... LBJ is pretty much one of the best facilitators in the game as is. I think you could've done better by trading Wade for a good big man like Amare

                              Year 1 - Bulls/82 Games/12 min. qtrs.

In game 1 of the first round of the playoffs against the Magic, Rose went down with a lower backstrain in the first half. He's now out for 1-2 weeks. Joakim Noah went down before the end of the season, and will be out for at least another 2 weeks. Nevertheless, the Bulls fought to the end, pushing the game into OT. Down 3 in the final seconds, House tried to pass the ball to Deng for a quick 3 to tie it up and send it to double OT. Instead, the pass was picked off and Orlando took Game 1 at home.

A great effort when you consider the injuries, but the 6th seeded Bulls could be looking at an early playoff exit if someone else doesn't step up big time. Boozer had a great game going for 30+ points and 10+ boards, but who will make up for Rose's 20+ points? Currently, Coach Tom Thibodeau is planning to use this line up for Game 2:

                              House/Arroyo
                              Nelson (created rookie)/Korver
                              Deng/Korver
                              Boozer/Mensah-Bonsu (free agent acquisition)
                              Davis/Cook (d-league call up)

At the trade deadline I pulled off two deals.

Thad Young was PO'd about playing time w/ the Sixers, and was demanding a trade. I couldn't find a groove with Cassipi and his minutes began to decline so he was getting frustrated with his PT. After injury Marquis Daniels couldn't find any time in the rotation and as a result was getting mad.

                                Deal 1
                                Kings Receive:
                                Thaddeus Young

                                Sixers Receive:
                                Omri Cassipi
                                Marquis Daniels

In Minnesota, Sebastian Telfair was mad about minutes. For me, I never played Pooh Jeter, and didn't have much value for a pick not in the first round. I ended up doing this trade:

                                Deal 2
                                Kings Receive:
                                Sebastian Telfair
                                T'Wolves Receive:
                                "Pooh" Jeter
                                '11 2nd Round Pick

                                Thoughts?
