Year one was a disaster. There was nobody I could count on for consistent offense and we went an abysmal 6-23. We traded Bargnani after the 3rd game to the Royals for Dalembart and their 1st Round pick...so the team was even worse!

I later traded ANA 1st Rounder and Calderon to Washington for their 2011 1st rounder (ANA was looking like a playoff team and WAS was looking like a lottery team....which ticked me off because that pick was the main reason I traded Bargnani)

I get to the draft lottery with odds on the 1st and 3rd pick....but disaster struck and ended up with the 4th and 5th. During the draft Detroit offered me the 2nd pick for Derozen and Weems and I took it in an instant.

So with the 2nd pick I took Harrison Barnes. The 4th pick I took Kemba Walker. The 5th pick I traded to Cleveland for the 9th pick and a future 1st rounder....so with the 9th pick I took Jonas Valanciunas (how do you pronounce his name?!?!).

So my starting line up is:
    PG: Kemba Walker
    SG: Leandro Barbosa
    SF: Harrison Barnes
    PF: Amir Johnson
    C: Jonas Valanciunas

Barnes is a scoring machine and Walker is in the top 5 in the league for Assists! We are 4-3 in year two...but our schedule has been pretty soft. We lost to Charlotte at home and beat OKC in OKC! It feels like a young team for sure!
Well....to update mine....my second year went alright for a little while...but then Barnes got hurt and I was having trouble finding offense. I finished 12-17. I had the best chance for the first pick with the Cleveland pick and held 8th for my Raptors pick. Ended up with the 2nd and 8th picks.

I drafted Anthony Davis and some SG that has great potential but wasn't that great overall (I sent him to D-League and his name escapes me).

I resigned J Bayless....but then realized that my back up PG was the highest paid player so I sent him to Indiana for Shannon Brown.

    My current starting lineup is:
    PG: Kemba Walker (80)
    SG: Shannon Brown (83)
    SF: Harrison Barnes (82)
    PF: Anthony Davis (76)
    C: Jonas Valanciunas (73)

    Off the Bench:
    Leandro Barbosa
    Ed Davis
    Kirk Hinrich
    Joe Johnson

I'm 4-1 for season 3. My team's overall is 24th in the league...but I feel I've put together a team that plays my style...fast. I SUCK at scoring in the post so I have to try and get fast break points and hit jumpers. It's inconsistent...but this is a team in progress.

I'm really enjoying trying to build this team though. I'm glad I'm winning championships left and right too oddly enough...I guess because its challenging.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So I'm finally taking part in an **** 82 GAME, 12 MIN QTRS Association where I'm playing every game.

I'm using the Orlando Magic because I love using superstar bigs, and Howard fits that role perfectly.

I am currently 77 games into the season and I am 51-26 and hold the 4th Seed below the Heat, Bulls and Celtics in the Eastern Conference.

      Free Agency Acquisitions:
      Drew Cook - 7'4" D-League Centre
      Patrick Beverley - PG
      Rashad McCants - SG
      Gerald Green - SG

      Trades:

      Orlando trades: Daniel Orton
San Antonio trades: DeJuan Blair, 1st Round Pick

I know thats a BS trade because Orton's value is really high for some reason, but I'm in a win now situation so getting a PF/C who could play right away was needed

Orlando trades: Chris Duhon, 2nd Round Pick
      Minnesota trade: Corey Brewer

Duhon was 3rd choice PG behind Arenas and Nelson and Brewer provides 3PT shooting and lock-down defense.

      Deadline Trades:

Orlando trades: Jason Richardson, DeJuan Blair
Charlotte trades: Tyrus Thomas, Nazr Mohammed, 1st Round Pick

I run a quick paced game and thats what Tyrus Thomas offered me, Brandon Bass is a decent player, but a little undersized and a little slow. Thomas brings perimeter D and blocking ability that Bass doesnt.

      Orlando trades:
Patrick Beverley, 1st Round Pick (Spurs) 1st Round Pick
Boston trades: Avery Bradley, 1st Round Pick

Again this trade was for the future and my new fast break tendencies. Bradley is an A- Potential, 90+ SPD and 82 On ball Defense, perfect for what I want to do with the new and improved Magic

      Depth Chart:

PG: Nelson - Arenas - Bradley

      SG:
Gilbert Arenas - JJ Redick - Rashad McCants

      SF:
Hedo Turkoglu - Corey Brewer - Earl Clark

      PF:
Tyrus Thomas - Brandon Bass - Ryan Anderson

      C:
Dwight Howard - Nazr Mohammed - Drew Cook

so with 5 games to go of the regular season I am only 2 games behind the Boston Celtics in the race for the 3rd seed. I don't think I'll get it though.

I hold a lottery pick (around 7-12) but the draft is very, very poor. So I am hoping to make a big splash in the off-season. I'm thinking of trading Turkoglu plus picks for Josh Smith to beef up the speed and defensive ability, and most importantly, youth to my SF position.

I will re-sign Corey Brewer, Rashad McCants, Earl Clark and Drew Cook (last 3 on veteran minimum, 1 year deals) and will probably move Jameer Nelson as Avery Bradley has been amazing.

If you want anymore info, just ask.

I'm going to start an Association with Minnesota Timberwolves and want to acquire Greg Oden, but i don't know what kind of trade i should pull off.

82 game season, 12min quarters (i play one game per week, sim the rest)

Do you have any suggestions about rosters or draft classes? Is there better ones for PS3?

        Thanks in advance!

This is so annoying. It has happened to me twice in the first game. Both times Amar'e got his ACL torn.

I don't know... That's life sometimes. I'd be curious to see what happens from there.

Or you could just turn off injuries.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I've been trying a new thing with my Wizards rebuild dynasty. My team is a 80 overall rating so I've only been playing teams around or below 80 and simming the rest. I figure it's a more fair way of doing it and a split between how I'm doing as a player and how my team fairs in a simulation.

At the All-Star break, I'm in 10th place in the East but I have a good stretch coming up against teams at or below my level. I'm hoping to sneak into that 8th spot even though I'll likely get crushed by Boston or Miami. I'll get some decent Reward Points to use on my young players.

Both John Wall and Monta Ellis made the All-Star Game for me. Ellis is leading the league in points while Wall is first in assists. Despite that, Ellis isn't listed in the MVP award race. I wonder how high in the standings I'd need to get for him to be in the race?

Go back to Phillips having to win 3 games in a row to get to 2nd round; since I set 1st round to a 5 game series.

                    My lineup:

                    Wall
                    Johnson
                    Williams

                    Horford
Bulls came to "Phillips", and I kept the lead the whole game, won 90-85. Johnson with 32. Could I keep it going and win 2 more and get out of 1st round? Series is 1-2, best of 5. Bulls made a run in 4th qrt, but I kept slim lead thanks to Johnson, and hit foul shots at the end to clinch it.

                      Year 1/Bulls/82 Games

Just lost Game 2 of the first round to the Magic. Without Rose, the Bulls were lacking any sort of spark, and without Noah, we're getting killed down low. Hopefully, going home for game 3 will help pick things up. Otherwise, I'll be looking for low post defense this off-season.

Year 2 of user-controlled 30 team franchise. I'm the Wolves.

First year, the #7 seed Indiana Pacers managed to upset Miami, New York, then Orlando before losing in 6 to the Lakers in the Finals. Indiana went onto land ZBo in FA, so they're looking to make it back with a Collison-George-Granger-Zbo-Hibbert lineup.

Phoenix wins the draft lottery despite having the lowest % chance and land Kyrie Irving. Cleveland picks up both Perry and Terrence Jones, then makes a trade to land Andre Iguodala. They're now sporting a Baron-Iggy-Terrence-Perry-Hickson lineup.

Ray Allen retired for Boston...signed them VC to a 1 year deal in free agency. But felt bad for cursing them like that with VC, so organized a trade that landed Rip in Boston.

With Irving now in Phoenix, I worked out a 3 team trade to get Nash to Dallas. Nash/Barbosa to Dallas, Bayless/Marion (coming off a career year shooting % wise) to Phoenix, and Terry/Draft Pick to Toronto. Trade seems to be working wonders for Toronto. Starting off the season as the only undefeated left (6-0) thanks to Kemba Walker averaging 20.2ppg

As for my Wolves, signed Shannon Brown in FA, which is looking like a mistake. Also added Rubio (kept him as a 59ish FA for the first season, then edited up his awareness ratings once I picked him up) who is working out nicely as the starting PG. Otherwise, my team is essentially the same from my 10th place finish in the West the year before.

But every time I sim to the Offseason all my player ratings go down.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So I decided last week that I was gonna make a Kings Association in honor of my team while they're going through some very tough times. What I did was sim the 2010-2011 season since we weren't going anywhere this year, but I know that in the off-season we would have hella cap space. During the season I traded PF Jason Thompson to the Pistons for PF Charlie Villanueva and their 2011 1st round pick. There was probably another piece in that trade but I can't remember so who cares lol. If I can recall that was the only trade I made during the season and we ended up finishing 30-52, last in the Pacific. Like I said, this season was a wash, but that's fine because it was the 2012 I was aiming for.

So here comes the rebuilding. I let a decent number of guys go who were on their last years of their contract, including Marcus Thornton while keeping guys like Garcis, Casspi, Udrth, and even Jermaine Taylor. The lottery comes by and I not only get the second pick in the draft, but because Detroit decided to part ways with their pick for JT, their pick turned into the third overall pick. You really couldn't do much better than that.

Before the draft starts, I trade that 3rd overall pick plus Charlie V to the Hawks for Josh Smith. Now I got my PF for the future. Next, PG. The Clippers has the first pick and they selected Derrick Williams, leaving me to pick Kyrie Irving with the no.2 pick I had. Boom that's squared away and now my starting lineup is set. Next, the bench. I signed Shannon Brown off free agency to be my sixth man and also signed Louis Amundson to back up Smith as well as provided well-needed rebounding, defense, and hustle. After these moves, I still had $3.14 mil of cap space left.

Once I did all that, my lineup coming into the 2011-12 season looks like this:

                                PG Irving/Udrih/I.Shumpert
                                SG Evans/S.Brown/Taylor
                                SF Casspi/Garcia/D.Greene
                                PF J.Smith/Amundson/Marcus Morris
                                C Cousins/Dalembert

Not bad if I say so myself. Only thing is that Tyreke Evans tore his MCL in the previous season and that has stretched into this season. Also Shannon Brown got hurt on the first game of the season starting for Evans so both are gonna be out for another 1-2 weeks. Good news is despite that I'm 3-1 and just came off a dominating 96-68 win over the Mavs. I also have a convincing win against the Lakers by 16 points with Donte Greene starting at the two since Garcia was a little dinged up. So with all that said....how did I do?
